Jean-Phillipe and Korvus: RA Offer (Backdated)
The day after Yvette steps down as RA, Jean-Phillipe seeks Korvus out in order to do the same thing.
Yvette's somewhat unexpected announcement that she was turning her resident
adviser position over to Catseye had made Jean-Phillipe consider his own
status, and he'd come to the conclusion that he would see if a particular
member of the student body that was graduating was interested. "Korvus, are
you in?" he called as he knocked on the younger man's door.
After a moment's pause, Korvus answered the door. "Am I in? As in indoors? I
am." He confirmed with a nod. "I'm not sure why you would call out for vocal
verification. Knocking on a door is the standard protocol for determining
someone's presence."
Jean-Phillipe shrugged. "It seemed like an extra level of
consideration. And perhaps there are times when my patience is not
what it should be." Talking with Korvus was always interesting,
because he had a very different view of the world than most. It could
be equal parts fascinating and frustrating, depending. "Are you busy
with anything, or do you have some time to talk?" he asked, trying to
get back to courtesy.
Korvus stepped back out of the doorway, "Come in, please."
Jean-Phillipe followed Korvus into the room. "So, what are your plans
now that you have graduated?" he asked, getting more or less right to
the point.
"I have been accepted to ESU. I plan to major in Philosophy there." Korvus
tilted his head a little. People didn't often eagerly seek him out to ask
about his plans for the future. "I also plan to join the X-Men and I will
need to develop an income, as well."
"I had a thought in that regard," Jean-Phillipe said, thankful for the
easy transition into his main reason for seeking out Korvus. "How
would you like to be the male resident adviser? Yvette turning her
position over to Catseye made me think that I have been the RA for
some time, and perhaps it is time for someone else, and with the
graduation of your class, and beginning university in the fall..."
Korvus smiled and offered his hand, as if he were purchasing a car. "That
would be acceptable. Catseye and I are amiable and it would help me develop
more relationships with the residents."
"Excellent." Jean-Phillipe reached out and shook Korvus' hand firmly.
"I shall ensure that le profeseur and anyone else is notified
of the change. I personally have found it an excellent opportunity,
and I am sure that it will be the same for you."
