The Dulcet Sound of My Voice: Making the report
Hope reports what they observed the night before.
"You are not going to believe what I saw that scumbag doing." Hope burst out immediately as she entered the room. "He was picking up a visible mutant boy to 'service' him! This has to be something we can use."
Doug snorted. "I should have guessed. The number of conservative politicians on the 'down low'...well, we suspected we might be running a honey trap. We just didn't realize that _I_ would be the one with the requisite body type, I guess."
CJ smirked slightly, "Are you sure you can do this?" she had offered to play the role herself, but when the mark's true sexual orientation came to light it became obvious that she wouldn't work.
Doug's answering smirk was full blown. "Oh my sweet summer child, the things you don't know about me. I can -absolutely- do this," he affirmed, raising an eyebrow to Hope as if to say ~do you want to tell her?~
"Trust me CJ, he can do this better then both of us would ever hope to know." Hope commented with a small smile. "I'll let him explain why though."
Doug's eyes twinkled as he stretched languidly and turned up the charisma a touch. "Ever hear of the Hellfire Club?" he asked CJ in a faux innocent tone.
"The Victorian era social club that catered to the debauched appetites of the wealthy nobles of the time?" CJ responded, as if rattling off a line from a history book.
"No, the modern implementation." Doug chuckled. "Substitute 'captains of industry' for 'nobles' and there you go. New York City glitterati getting together to move and shake, as it were." He paused. "The debauchery's pretty much the same, though."
CJ blushed furiously and quickly turned her attention away toward something that didn't require it.
"And Doug is a... pretty active member." Hope added delicately. No need to bother CJ with the rest of the details. "But he has played games likes this before. Many times."
"I won't lie and tell you I'm perfect at them, but I don't make the same mistake twice." He reached to touch CJ's hand. "Sorry for surprising you like that - I couldn't resist."
CJ froze for a moment as the pretty man took her hand, then physically shook her head and pulled it away, "You couldn't shock me if you tried, I'm the Profiler, remember?" She then crossed the room and looked out the window, pretending to watch for their mark.
Hope laughed as she shook her head. "Do you have everything with that you need to look convincing, Doug? And I am thinking we need to wire a place to catch the best... footage?" She could not help but blush faintly at that.
"I've got a disguise kit that I brought with." Doug believed in being prepared for eventualities, after all. "We'll start there, see if we need anything else. As for footage...it'll depend on the delegate, I think. Probably difficult to set up a place for video, there's no guarantee we can maneuver him to it." He thought some more. "I've got a few bug-type cameras, small enough to conceal. We'll use a combination of that and some shots taken from a distance as you follow me."
"He's security conscious," CJ said from the window, looking back at them through the reflection. "But if he's...um...enticed enough, he may lower his guard. Oh- I think I see his car turning the corner. He'll stay there for a few minutes to ensure there aren't any police in the area before selecting his...date."
"Okay, let's get ready then."
