Jessie and Jono | Pride Flags
Jono gets a pride flag for himself a friend from Jessie.
Jono didn't really know who Jessie was, but it really hadn't been too hard to figure out where she lived. He stood awkwardly outside of her door for a moment and fought the urge to pull his lightwriter out of his pocket. This would be good telepathy practice.
Finally he knocked and waited patiently for Jessie to answer.
There was some movement inside the suite, a muffled voice calling "one minute!" and finally the door flew open. "Hello!" she greeted Jono cheerfully. She didn't know him very well, but she was pretty sure one of the Guthries was dating him, so he couldn't have been that bad, and hey, every stranger was just a friend waiting to happen, right?
"Hi. I'm Jono, it's nice to meet you." He responded telepathically. "Er. Sorry for the mind...thing. No mouth. I was wondering if you had any small bi and lesbian flags?"
"No problem!" she assured him. "I don't have a bi flag, unfortunately - but I know where to get one! A really good friend of mine handmakes flags and she's spent the last few months making a bunch of extras of the common flags for June. She lives like an hour away so I can go pick it up if you want it. I do have a lesbian one though, hang on!"
She dove back into the mess of a room to find the spare flags she had set aside.
"Thanks. Er- pan would work as well if you've got one, I'm not too picky on labels." He'd feel terrible if she travelled for a whole hour just to get him a silly little flag.
"Pan. Pan pan pan... Pan!" Jessie surfaced with a pan flag in one hand and a lesbian in the other. "Tada!" She returned to the door to hand them to Jono. "One pan and one lesbian."
Jono’s eyes crinkled in a smile. ”Thanks.” He waved the lesbian flag a bit. ”I’m sure Paige’ll appreciate it.”
Jessie tilted her head. Paige was a lesbian? Maybe it was Mel Jono was dating, then. "Yeah? Let me know how it goes. And you're welcome!"
