Wednesday Night
Alex/Lorna, Library Fireplace.
Warning, this log is fluff. Totally teeth-rotting cotton candy fluff. Cynics need not apply.
Lorna wiped up stray flour from the counter then washed her hands. Behind her was an veritable assembly line of cookie decorating presided over with great glee by Jamie. She crossed the room to where Alex was intent on his latest cookie creation and propped herself on his shoulder, "How goes it, DaVinci?"
Alex turned and stuck his tongue out at her as he put down the knife. Before him was a gingerbread man, whose frosting vaguely looked like Scott, complete with sunglasses. He grinned cheerfully. "Couldn't resist."
She snickered, "Very cute," she kissed his cheek, amused, "Like his brother."
"I'm doing good with the cute thing tonight aren't I?" He pecked her quickly on the nose, licking off some frosting that had found its way there. "You done baking yet?"
She giggled, "You are and I am. All that's left is the frosting and eating bits." She wrapped her arms around his shoulders.
Alex wiggled his eyebrows in a playful fashion as he gave her a playful look and dropped his voice. "How's about me and you grab some cocoa and cookies and leave Jamie here to supervise the little ones? One of the little squids is already glaring at me and I swear I heard her say I was giving you cooties." Alex looked over at mentioned little girl who was frosting a sugar cookie and trying to pretend she wasn't watching them.
Lorna followed his gaze and smirked at the little girl, thinking about how her attitude would change in five years, "I think that sounds like an excellent plan. It'll minimize the spread of your nasty boy cooties too which should make your little admirer over there happy." She brushed her hair out of her face where it had come loose from her ponytail. It was a curious mix of brown and green streaks currently, thanks to the camera crew that had traipsed through earlier in the month. She'd elected not to strip the color out this time and so was putting up with the slower bleaching effects of her mutation.
Alex grinned as he reached up and grabbed two mugs out of a cabinet. "Yes, I like to save all my nasty boy cooties for a certain green haired chief so the less they spread the better." He kissed the part of her neck which was exposed thanks to the ponytail, before going over to the stove and pouring two cups of steaming cocoa.
She gathered up a small plate of cookies and had a quiet word with Jamie about watching the rugrats then joined Alex at the stove, accepting a mug of cocoa from him. "I'm much happier when you save your boy cooties for me too. Fireplace?"
"Definitely." He shivered despite the hot mug in his hands. It was always too cold for his liking, anywhere in the mansion. Alex wove his free arm around her waist and guided her out the kitchen, throwing a quick, "Thanks!" over his shoulder to Jamie.
Falling into step with him, she allowed herself to be led to their traditional winter-watching spot in front of the fireplace. "Lord of the Rings opened today," she said conversationally, apropos of absolutely nothing.
Alex settled down into the couch, carefully pulling her down with him so as not to upset her load of cocoa and cookies, though he did take the plate and set it on the coffee table that stood between the fire and the couch. "I know, was hoping to convince you to go with me on Saturday..."
"Mmm," she curled up against his side and wrapped both hands around her mug of cocoa, enjoying the warmth, "I imagine that will take a lot of convincing. Why would I want to spend 3 and a half hours watching an epic film with a hot guy?"
"Because you enjoy the nasty boy cooties, that's why." Alex nuzzled her neck as he wrapped one arm around her waist to cuddle her closer, the other lifting his mug to his lips. After taking a sip, he added, "And said hot guy had to sit through "Love Actually" last weekend."
"Boy cooties are the best kind." She grinned, "'Love Actually' wasn't that bad. But I suppose I do owe you. All right, small hairy hobbits it is."
"Small hairy hobbits indeed," He grinned as he playfully tickled her side. "You’re going to be watching a certain blonde elf!"
Lorna screeched and nearly spilled her cocoa. "This is slander!" She set down the mug on the coffee table then tickled him back.
Alex squeaked at the sudden attack and just barely managed to get his own mug to safety before he had to defend himself from her attack, laughing till tears started pooling at the corner of his eyes.
Tickling ruthlessly, she managed to pin him below her and sat on him. "Give up?"
He breathed heavily from all the laughing, but managed to form a sly smile. "And what if I don't?"
She smirked down at him, "Well seeing as I have the upper hand here," she linked her hands with his to prove it, "it doesn't seem like you have much choice."
He turned his head slightly to look at their clasped hands then back up at her. Alex made a big show of sighing in defeat. "Your right, I give up. So now that you have me beaten and pinned down, what are you going to do with me?"
She laughed, "Oh so many options. I think I'll start with this one." She leaned down and kissed him deeply, taking her time about it and enjoying the way his hands tightened on hers. She eased back with a satisfied sigh, "What was this fight about again?"
Alex lifted his head a tad bit from the cushions to deepen the kiss further, tightening his fingers on hers to help hold himself up. When she eased back, he dropped his head back down and licked his lips. "After that, I wish I could remember so we could have this fight again."
"Agreed. I especially like the part where I won." She laughed again then curled up against him, laying her head on his chest. She thought back before the tickling match and came up with the cause. "Lord of the Rings. You accused me of being an elf fancier."
"Oh, you’re right, I did.” He wrapped his arms around her and half closed his eyes. "And you haven't denied it."
She slid one hand up to play with his hair, "You're right, I haven't. Imagine that." Snuggling comfortably against him, she straightened her legs then deftly tangled them with his. "How about this--I fancy blond surfer boys with cooties far more than elves who can't act."
"I think I like that better." Alex grinned as he kissed her temple, twirling a piece of brownish green hair in his fingers. "It's all about the cooties."
"Totally." she said, injecting a fairly decent surfer accent into that one word. "Cooties rule, man." To prove it, she kissed him again, her fingers still tangled in his hair.
He laughed softly, even while she kissed him. When they pulled apart he wiggled his nose playfully at her. "I should respond with a Valley girl accent but that would just be too harmful to the ears." And with that, he wrapped his own fingers around her ponytail, removing the holder as he pulled her into another kiss.
Her hair immediately tumbled down around them, curtaining them in a swirl of green and brown and lightly scented with her shampoo. She tsked at him, "Brat,' and moved to pull it out of the way again.
"Don't," Alex's hands shot up to catch Lorna's before she could touch her hair. "Your hair is so much prettier like that...down I mean."
"Well, I didn't think you meant half Autumn Fawn and half Spring Green." She laughed but allowed him to lower her hands. She smiled down at him, reflecting that she only felt pretty when he told her she was. "I'll leave it down for you then."
"Thank you.” He lowered her hands, then reached up to caress her cheek. "You know I think you’re beautiful, not matter what color your hair is."
"Considering how often it changes, that's probably a good thing." She smiled, "Thank you, love." She covered his hand with her own and pressed a kiss to his palm.
"You’re very welcome." He smiled softly as his eyes half closed and yawn escape his lips, heat making him drowsy. "Enough talk, come cuddle."
She leaned down again to kiss him, reveling in way it felt to be in love. "As you wish."

You expect me to resist?
Oh no! My darling Wesley! What have I done?!
Much with the cute, you two.
