Isle of Glass: Stinger #3 (Avalon)

Topaz explores her newest project. Backdated to March 4.

It wasn't hard to believe this place had been untouched for hundreds of years.

Topaz made her way down the rows of shelves, earbuds in and music playing to fill the eerie silence, stopping every now and again to wipe a finger along the dusty shelves. It was going to be a pain to get anyone in here to help her just because of allergies. Never mind the creepy factor - not that she could really feel it. It was there, but... muffled. She wondered if it was a psi thing, and made a note to grab one of the telepaths and see if they felt the same as everyone else.

She paused at the spot where they had first encountered the man and Lyton, grimacing at the sight of the blood on the ground. That would haunt her nightmares for a while. One direction led toward the door out into England, the other further into the storage space. Topaz frowned for a moment before taking that path, wondering if there were any clues to be found. The man must have come from here... he certainly hadn't followed them in, Lyton had gone through as soon as she opened the door, and he had been the one to open the second door into England. He must have been in this place already. But how? And how had he survived?

This part of the are seemed somehow older, and felt heavier. Even Topaz shivered slightly, rubbing an arm. Okay, it was a little creepy-

Something crinkled under foot, and Topaz stopped, frowning. Looked down. It was... a piece of a paper? It looked old, like everything else in this place, and she was very careful as she pulled her foot away, worried she had ruined whatever it was. When the paper didn't immediately dissolve, she knelt down to carefully pick it up. It was surprisingly sturdy despite its age. The language wasn't anything she could read, but it was in a magical storage space, so the odds of it being some kind of spell were pretty high. Topaz stood, looking around to try and find the book it had come out of, but there was nothing even remotely resembling a book within her sight.

Weird. Topaz frowned slightly, turning to head back to the chapel entrance. She had set up a table near the door for questionable things. The page could live there for now.
