Angelo and Catseye, backdated
She invades his room, bullies him into going out onto the back porch for some fresh air, and refuses to let him smoke. All without ever changing to human form. Go Catseye!
Angelo was sitting in his room, being a hermit again. He didn't particularly feel like talking to anyone at that precise time, since in his state of temper, he was afraid he'd end up shouting at someone
who didn't deserve it - and working out his bad mood on the punchbags really wasn't an option today, since it still hurt like hell just to move his hands, after the last time.
So there he sat, slumped in his desk chair, doing nothing and Not Thinking.
The smell had drawn her attention, strong and bitter and generally utterly unpalatable. What was it with the humans here and smelly stuff? For one, then the other... and she didn't even want to think about downstairs.
Getting into the room hadn't been a problem. She probably could have dropped a dead rat on his head and the boy wouldn't even have reacted.
Humans were SO bloody weird.
And with that, Catseye stretched out delicately from under the chair and bit Angelo in the leg.
He yelped and shot up out of the chair, then bent to look underneath it and see what, exactly, had just bitten him. "Catseye! How long have you been down there?"
The mansion belongs to Catseye. The chair too. Maybe the room, once it is less stinky. Tail curling about her paws, Catseye regarding him with a somewhat flat gleam in her eyes. Moping is boring. Tilting her head to the side slowly she eyed his leg meaningfully before turning to lick her shoulder in an unconcerned way. Moping is very boring. Stop it.
Angelo eyed her warily. "Catseye... did you just threaten to bite me again? What for?" And then the light dawned. "Oh. Right. Tryin' to get me out of the chair, huh? Maybe out of the room?"
That would do. She moved forward, keeping herself between him and the chair, not quite herding him but still. She wasn't a small cat, and she knew that if she leaned hard enough, people tended to move, which was something she put to good use just now. And if SillyPuttyBoy won't stop moping, Catseye can always relocate to the lake. People needed lake dunkings here, it was clear.
Angelo looked down at her in amused exasperation, but moved in the direction she was pushing him in. "Where are we goin', then?"
Out. SillyPuttyBoy asks too many questions. Out out out! With patient perseverance (humans were so slow sometimes!) Catseye kept nudging and pushing and generally guiding Angelo towards the door, sitting down patiently for him to open it. Somewhat. Wait too long and Catseye will bite again.
With a bemused shrug, he opened the door, stepped out, and started walking towards the stairs, assuming she'd let him know if that wasn't what she'd had in mind.
Ha! Out! With a meep of victory Catseye twined her way along, casually going through the traditional "see if the human is agile" routine by randomly tripping him up.
That earned her another startled yelp as he tried to avoid either hurting her or falling headlong. Fortunately, he was agile enough not to trip more than a slight stumble, and he shot her a reproachful look. "Don't do that."
Cats do whatever they want. SillyPuttyBoy! With a smug sounding meow, Catseye trotted down a few steps, all the while making sure he was close by. He needed airing out and badly so at that. Out of the house. Smelly!
He followed her obediently, not wanting to make her bite him again, though he was still amused by the whole situation. It occurred to him, belatedly, that he'd left the puppy shut in the room and he paused for a moment before shrugging - she was asleep, she'd be fine for a while - and following Catseye again.
The pause had been noted but he'd resumed following, just as he ought to. There was hope yet for this one. When they hit the main level Catseye trotted towards the main door, pausing once more to let him open it - she could do it herself of course, but it was good to keep the humans trained properly.
Laughing a little, he moved forward and opened the door, walking out onto the grounds with Catseye sticking close by. "Right. Where to now?"
If the smell didn't fade, maybe she'd chuck him in the lake. As it were though, he had laughed a little and he was being very well behaved, all things considered. And though it was cold out he seemed to be doing fine, even if he was woefully lacking in fur. The benches on the back porch would do nicely, and Catseye picked out a route in that direction, meeping at him pleasantly every now and then.
Angelo followed her, curious to see where they were going, and when she stopped on the back porch and looked up at him expectantly, he took her meaning well enough. He sat down on the swing seat, pulling his legs up underneath him, and automatically went to get his cigarettes out, then looked at Catseye and took his hand out of his pocket. He didn't think she'd appreciate it, somehow.
She hadn't moved a millimeter as she heard the crackle of paper from his pocket, the one which smelled of unlit cigarettes. That he didn't pull anything out saved him from being bit again, the cat relaxing before hopping onto the swing seat, looking a bit too gleeful as it swayed under her weight.
Angelo eyed her, then whimsically leaned hard against the back of the seat, making it sway again. He wanted to see if that was what she was looking so pleased about, or just that she'd successfully got him out there. "So this was the idea, huh? Fresh air?"
Catseye meeped once more as they swung, claws digging in just a bit as she shifted her own weight to continue to motion. "Mrreow!" Which was agreement to his statement, although she had no clue how he'd interpret it. No more stink sticks. And SillyPuttyBoy play now. Wheeee!
Well, she seemed to be enjoying it, so he kept the swing seat moving, watching her in amusement. "'s that fun?"
Yes! And it kept him from being all mopey, clearly. Amuse the cat! See how fun it is! Claws still keeping her stable, Catseye went with the motion, to and fro, making sure to keep an eye on Angelo so he wouldn't start moping once again.
