In the suite that isn't really theirs, Scott keeps watch over his wife. To say that Jean isn't in a very good mental space would be the understatement of the century. They do however start to talk about things.

While Charles is in with Jean, Scott is pacing the hall outside, suffering from some unexpected aftereffects of what happened in Jean's mind. Jim, at the Professor's request, comes down to talk to him. The conversation winds up helping Scott - eventually - but isn't quite such a good thing for Jim. Sometimes the parallels can be too close for comfort.

Tuxedos can be camouflage too. Logan and Scott wait in the foyer for the rest of the team. Logan wants to run over the Plan once more. Scott's possibly a little overly tense.

( You didn't listen the first time in the Situation Room? )

At the Hellfire Club, the team mingles a little, as the plan requires, before making their move.

( Skipping the champagne. )

The team makes a quiet entry into the living quarters - and a less quiet entry into Jean's suite. Ororo and Logan distract flunkies while Scott goes for the bedroom. The flunky-distraction gets a little messy.

( Who the hell do you think you are, barging in here like this? )

Elsewhere on the floor, Sam watches the elevator via which reinforcements would arrive. They do, and he takes care of them quite handily.

( Nothing like a good pair of boots. )

Kurt, standing guard at the top of the stairs, is very disturbed by all the noise, but stays at his post. He finds himself dealing with a determined young woman with a very familiar mutation.

( What's going on up there? )

What happened when the bedroom door closed? Matthews gets a well-deserved punch in the face, and Scott and Jean get a little violent.

( They'd done this before. )

Contact, and Scott finds himself in his wife's mind, faced with no clear path and a very dangerous decision. In the end, however, Jean's decision is the important one.

( No matter where you go, I will find you / in the place with no frontiers. )

Ororo is waiting for Scott when he arrives back at the mansion. Surprisingly there are no words of reprimand, just concern, and afterwards a plan is formed.

Scott finds himself back out of jail almost as quickly as he found himself there in the first place as the Black King of the Hellfire Club shows up to have the charges dropped and to offer him a ride home - and a deal.

( What is it that I can do for you that appeals to you more than the idea of me in jail for aggravated assault? )

Upon seeing Jay's post, Scott gets on his bike and heads into New York with one specific destination in mind. He has absolutely no plan in mind, unless you count breaking anyone standing between him and Jean.

Chance meetings are all well and good, as long as Jane takes the time to think about what's going on. Luckily for Jay and unluckily for her, this time she doesn't.

Illyana comes looking for Jean and manages to be completely untraumatized when she finds her. Possibly yet more proof that 'Yana needs therapy.

Scott wakes up after his surgery. Then he wakes up again. There's a rather disturbing dream in the interim. Scott really needs to get a clue - it's not as if this hasn't happened before.

Scott stops by Ororo's office to let her know that he's going to be off-campus that afternoon (and possibly overnight) and why. Ororo's somewhat perturbed, as much by his attitude as his reason for being away.

( 'You're scowling at me.' 'I am not. Or rather, I would not need to if I knew why you had circles under your eyes the size of Cain's footprints.' )

Backdated to last Friday. Jane's running errands farther afield and still can't keep from running into people from her past. Too bad Remy's not going to get to remember the important bits.

Jane's been lying low, but that had to end sooner or later, and lucky Moira gets to be the first to find her again.

Upon returning to the mansion, Scott plans to catch up first of all with Ororo, but she beats him to it. And returns his turtle. Then, a little later, he heads over to see Logan, who has something to tell him. The details of Logan's confrontation with Jean don't go over well with Scott, but not in any sort of dramatic way.

Logan's Don Quixote-esque quest to Find Jean unexpectedly hits paydirt in Central Park. He listens to his instincts, but doesn't follow through. Backdated to Tuesday, March 28th.

Deborah, like most grandmothers, is shamelessly manipulative, and Scott finds himself calling his brother whether he thinks it's a good idea or not. Alex is shocked to hear about everything that's been happening. The two manage to mend fences in the process. Deborah is pleased.

Angelo makes Bobby come out of his room, and finds out what's led to the current bout of moping. He decides what Bobby needs is to get drunk. ...It doesn't end well.

Logan, freshly-returned from Canada, goes up to see Scott. Scott's really not in the mood to deal with Logan. So much so that Logan gets slugged in the jaw. After Scott takes a small nap, he's far more friendly and amenable. Logan then borrows Scott's bike to follow up on something Scott told him.

Because the world needs Paige's opinion on this whole mess. A very ticked off Paige storms in on Scott and beats him up a bit. Then she tucks him in for a nap and threatens to give him a concussion. But she gave him Tylenol and a hug at some point, so it's okay.

Yeah, their relationship is weird.

( Scott, when wrinkles are not high on your list, the only explanation is an oncoming Apocalypse. No, scratch that, you’d probably want to look nice for the falling frogs and balls of fire. )
