In some more downtime in the camp before heading off to investigate the school the next day, Nathan indulges in a very old Kazakh custom. He talks Haroun into getting on a horse and coming with him. Unused to riding, Haroun takes a spill out on the steppes. And Nathan leaves him there.
As he tries to find his way back to the camp, not understanding why Nathan hasn't come back for him, Haroun focuses on the one thing that keeps him going.
Instinct takes over, and Haroun finally stops overthinking. His power kicks on to save him from hypothermia, and Nathan, who's been watching all along, judges it an opportune moment to go fetch him. An enraged Haroun actually makes a second and much more startling breakthrough, but is typically ungracious about it.
Set between This and This letter being left. Haroun goes to Nathan for some perspective on his situation, and gets some advice he doesn't want to hear.
Sometime in the early morning hours, between Wednesday and Thursday. Haroun has a nightmare, one in a series of many following a similar theme. A temporary solution to help tide him over from the feeling of being grounded is found, however.
Backdated to the day of the Air Xavier mission, set afterwards on the same day. Alison returns from a mission, a symmetric reversal from when she was off duty and roles were reversed… Haroun deals with the situation far better than Alison did at the time.
Set early Monday morning. Adjustments to the new 'ware have to be made on all levels, it seems, and Harouns' wardrobe is in for a serious rehaul. Not that this bothers Alison too much, truth be told.
Set after this email on last Friday afternoon. Haroun updates Alison on his condition (yep, that's all it is, uh huh!) and lets her know he'll be moving back up to their suite soon.
Haroun thanks Kitty for her efforts in Upgrade and asks her if she'd be interested in taking on a little design project for him. She tries not to be too eager when she accepts. Set before Haroun's adventures in Medlab.
Posted a bit late because of 60+ hour work weeks. Doug can't talk after the events of Upgrade, and Angie and Jamie take it upon themselves to drag him down to see Moira for a checkup.
Pure fluff, folks. Takes place last Wednesday afternoon. He's awake - sort of - before the new hardware's installed. Alison is there, of course, drooling all over him. Literally. 100% fluff, diabetics need not apply.
Earlier in the week. Just because the bulk of the operations are done doesn't mean things end there. Dr. Hawksmoor speaks with Alison now that they're not so rushed while trying to keep Haroun from dying on the spot anymore, to remind her of the changes that are still coming, some certain and some not.
Following Haroun's surgery and these emails between Maddie and Jean, the pair of doctors sit down and discuss Maddie's telepathy phobia like reasonable grown up people.
Scott runs into Alison while she does one of the rare food runs she can ~ since the rest of the time, food magically appears beside her when she's not looking. ;) They talk about her return to active duty (considering she was a bit distracted of late) and a certain company she's taken interest in...
OOC note: This starts around 9am and concludes in the afternoon around 6pm.
The beginning of the end ; Jean, Maddie, Hank and Dr. Hawksmoor prepare to begin the surgery to remove Haroun's existing cyberware in its entirety. Along the way Maddie finds telepathy does have its benefits.
