Alison stops by to see Scott. He broaches the subject of her trying her hand at back-up duty for the weekend. She is receptive. More than receptive. Enthusiastic is not the word.
During the BBQ, people get splashed of course, which is always bound to happen. Alison won't be wearing a white shirt near the water again for some time, now though, and Jamie realizes that not remembering stuff is still sometimes a clear indication of things leaving a mark.
After these emails, Haroun heads upstairs to get some lunch and runs into Scott. After these emails last night, they are not precisely each other's favorite people. They do a whole lot of snarling and talking past each other, and Scott finally pulls rank rather shamelessly.
Saturday afternoon, before Nathan's return to the mansion. Remy drops by Alison's room to talk to her, having a few questions about a package he was asked to deliver not so long ago. Alison uses the one thing to distract him that is impossible to ignore - Sabertooth.
Early Saturday morning. Amanda drops in to check in on Alison and allay a few personal fears. Both aims are reached- once Alison has ascertained that Amanda is just fine as well, there is much scrambling away from the dreaded Small Talk.
Early afternoon. Jean is ready to see a particular patient, despite the previously hectic night, though of course, this might be because this is a somewhat private sort of appointment - or at least one only Jean can do, at the moment.
Late afternoon. Scott wanders by to talk to Alison about "borrowing" her XO, and the discussion turns to a slightly new way to do things. On the plus side, someone trying to overcompensate on the whole controlling of self and world thing sometimes can end up with a useful idea. No matter how much they may hate it at the time.
Paige and Alison take a moment away from the mansion, in the late afternoon. There is a balance found, in some moments.
How calm, how beautiful comes on The stilly hour, when storms are gone! When warring winds have died away, And clouds, beneath the glancing ray, Melt off, and leave the land and sea Sleeping in bright tranquillity. ~ Thomas Moore
Part 1: Amanda goes to Strange's class as if nothing had happened last week. He's less than impressed, and things quickly go downhill from there. Several of Amanda's worldviews are challenged.
Part 2: Following the scene in Strange's office, Amanda finds herself in Central Park, feeling lost. The last person in the world she'd expect offers a direction.
Alison, needing to prove herself and to settle back into a rhythm of life she knows and is used to, pushes too hard. This time though, Haroun is the one to pay the price for this.
Haroun spends a little time out under the night sky to try to deal with the enormity of Fixing Alison. He's not coping very well, but luckily for him Nathan happens to come along and give him some words of encouragement. Set after the Haroun/Lorna lunch-chat log.
Alison decides to head out for a walk outside on her own, and someone who has over time become part of the soundscape Alison is used to hearing and doesn't pay any notice to decides to follow for a bit.
A walk to the lake, of course, means you meet up with someone eventually. Even when the sky is overcast instead of sunny and bright. The company is welcome at first and Alison finds out a few more things she hadn't quite absorbed yet about what happened to her. That's what happens when you were the one who was unconscious the entire time during a crisis.
Nathan encounters Alison face-to-face for the first time since the events of the weekend. He is very calm, very unthreatening, and feeds her. Alison manages to relax a little.
Things catch up, no matter how long or how hard you try to shy away from them. Alison breaks down, finally, realizing that that the scars on her back are very real indeed. As is what happened to her.
