The cavalry arrives.

( This particular patch of desert might as well have been wearing a sign saying 'Nathan was here'. )

Friday evening. Nathan wakes up from his enforced nap to find someone unexpected watching over him. Bridge 'rescues' him. Then, the laptop Alison liberated turns out to contain potentially invaluable information about the network of training camps for young mutants that Eris helped set up in Africa.

( 'Have I mentioned lately that I don't like your family?' 'Never hurts to reiterate that.' )

Later, Alison brings Nathan the letter she found. A number of questions get answers, and yet more are raised.

Friday. Nathan, Pete, Cain and Alison arrive at the Eris camp outside in the desert. The Eris personnel immediately decide that high-tailing it for the mountains is the best course of action. Still, there's a Domino who needs finding, and splitting up is the order of the day. Alison, though she doesn't find Domino, makes some headway of a very unexpected sort.

( The fine art of intimidation. )

Domino, still in her cell when chaos breaks out, seizes the first opportunity to escape. Thankfully (given the content of Nathan's vision) she doesn't get very far. Although she's not quite as happy to see Pete as she should be. At least not right away.

( A fist in the throat says 'I love you'. Really, it does. )

Outside, Cain and Nathan spot Gideon. Cain and Nathan chase Gideon. Gideon has a surprise for Nathan - or is the joke on him? Then, Gideon finds himself in the position of facing a furious, psimitar-bearing telekinetic out in the open where Nathan doesn't have to worry about collateral damage.

Thursday evening. They decide to stay the night in Luederitz, for lack of other options. Nathan and Pete share a moment of frustration out on the balcony of the hotel, staring into the fog. A subject they're going to have to talk about at some point comes up, but then the future intervenes.

( Horses. Horses running in the desert. )

Driving's impossible until the fog clears, so they stay the rest of the night. When Cain and Pete are asleep, Alison and Nathan finally get the chance to talk, at least about the matter at hand. There's a lot more not-talking on other topics.

( I have a lot on my mind. Or too little. Depending on your perspective. )

Thursday afternoon. When they reach Luederitz, the next site on Esther's map, Nathan and the others find out that Gideon is a step ahead of them - and was a step ahead of Esther, as well. There's a solution, but not a simple one.

Wednesday. They arrive in Khorixas, following Esther's map, and find the traveler's lodge where Gideon's men recaptured Domino after her brief escape. Then they find out that Gideon expected them to find this spot. A little later, Nathan finds out why.

Tuesday. Nathan, Pete, Alison and Cain get to the address in Windhoek that Gideon gave Nathan, only to find no one at home. Frustration seems to be the order of the day, for Pete especially - until his flash of temper reveals something completely and utterly unexpected.

Moira really wasn't letting them go anywhere without back-up. Pete and Nathan arrive at the airport to find that she arranged for a very fast plane and two very logical 'babysitters'.

( That WOMAN... )

After eight months with the Hellfire Club, you'd think Pete would be due a vacation. Unfortunately, if the quiet life is what he wants, he has the wrong taste in women. News of Domino's kidnapping finally crosses the Atlantic, and yes, of course it's a set-up. That doesn't mean that Nathan and Pete aren't going to walk right into it.

(OOC: Posted slightly ahead of time on account of player unconsciousness.)

( We don't need time to catch our breath. Really. )

And while Pete's reading up on intel files, Nathan's waking up Moira, who has some very definite Issues with the idea of the two of them running off to Africa unsupervised. You'd think they were prone to getting themselves into trouble or something.

( Honey? We need a plane. )

Domino seizes the first opportunity to make a break for it, only to discover that Gideon's been one step ahead of her all along.

( 'What, does your boss see the future now?' 'Before today I would have said no.' )

Something goes wrong in Africa, and Domino winds up enjoying the questionable hospitality of Gideon Faraday. Nathan's uncle has plans, but he's not sharing them.

Yet.
