Things are never quite as you'd expect with the Cassidys. Terry goes to have dinner with her father and important bits of news are passed on and discussed. Yes, including that one.

On the Blackbird heading down to Peru, Scott and Sean have a quiet chat about strategy, Wisdom, and spoke-kicking.

( ... yeh're probably going to tell me that we want to sneak up on them, so I'm not to fly anywhere, aren't yeh? )

During the hike from the airstrip to the lab, Scott and Sam talk strategy, and Sam discovers he doesn't like the jungle.

( We are trying to make a discreet entrance, remember. )

When they get to the lab, things are too quiet. Wanda does her best to change that, but not in the good way.

( Glancing over at Scott, she winced. He had on his 'I can't believe you just did that' face. )

With the lab secured, it becomes obvious that the team has indeed missed the opportunity to kick the spokes out of a certain someone's wheel. Betsy tries to find something to make the trip worthwhile, but winds up with nothing for her efforts. Really.

( I'm not keen on the idea of writing this off as a total wash. )

As the team pulls out, Scott gives in to Betsy's urging and does in fact level the place.

( I know you better than most and so I believe I'm qualified to say this and to say it with love. Demolish the ruddy building. )

Pete encounters the team of X-men protecting Alphonso.
( Nor dread nor hope attend )
Having taken the protection team down one at a time, There's just Alison left. She's got a surprise for him.
( A dying animal; )
There's no-one left but Alphonso and Pete.
( A man awaits his end )
And now all that's left is picking up the pieces.
( Dreading and hoping all; )

Sean and Terry get into a shouting match on the lawn and pull no punches. Some of this can be heard from pretty much anywhere on the grounds and it's all unpleasant. At least they're consistent.

( Bit by bit, torn apart, we never win )

Via the power of the Wayback machine, we're back to November 8th directingly following these emails (yes, wrong journal, just ignore that) between Terry and Sean. Sean tracks Terry down and they have what probably can't be called a real Cassidy fight since there isn't any shouting. Doesn't mean anyone walks away less wounded.

The mall can be murder before Christmas...
Toad // Kyle & Terry ~ After Sabretooth knocks out Sean, both Terry & Kyle are left to face Toad, who after having ceded Miles to Mystique, decides to have a little fun with them.

( I swear, I was gonna bust you one for looking like Sabes' kid brother but now I think I'll just kill you. )

When it all comes down to the basics...
Sean, Terry ~ A segue into another scene, while Kyle and Toad fight. After Toad silences Terry and takes her out of the fight, Sean starts to recover and helps his daughter.

( Maybe all those shouting matches had been good for something after all. )

The warmth of blood // A losing proposition
Creed // Alison ~ Sometimes, it's not even about wishing you'd stayed home that day. While Kyle faces off with Toad, Terry and Sean eventually joining in, Alison tries to hold her own somehow against Sabretooth. You do what you can, even when you know you don't stand a chance.

And then... enter Magneto.

( 'Hello, girly,' said Sabretooth with a fanged grin. )

Alison, Miles ~ There's always something to remind you of what you never had. Miles ponders that for a little bit, before deciding that maybe it doesn't matter, in light of what he has now.

Sean, Terry ~ Father and daughter go run a few errands on their own before heading back to the foodcourt. The fact that they may have more in common than just their powers is a thought Terry isn't too thrilled about.

( It wasn't fair!� She'd gone out so she could shop with Alison not him! )

Kyle ~ The foodcourt is both heaven and hell, something Kyle discovers far too quickly in a somewhat unexpected way.

Sean and Terry have a nice father daughter chat. Except for the part where it's at all nice. Sean tries but Terry is tired of giving him chances. Shouting and accusations ensue.
