Molly, Sue and Johnny make their way through some art, and burn their way out, but not before Molly saves them all from poisoning and smoke inhalation with the power of her mind!

Ty and some art have a Powers Interaction, which ends better than expected for Kyle. Namor takes over.

( Mr. Johnson, I trust that you can take care of Mister Gibney without killing him or becoming some sort of horribly timed shadow monster? )

Hope saves a life - and in the process ruins her clothes. Topaz keeps Hope and her patient safe from the panicking crowd, and overloads her powers.

( Slowly people stopped running, they weren't scared after all. They weren't panicking. They felt nothing. )

Matt and Tandy get pulled into the world of art - and they know the drill. It's a field trip, they should've never left the mansion.

Topax and Pixie get caught up in the mess, run into Artie, and they Art their way out of being eaten by a chalk monster.

As the crowd starts to realize that something very wrong is happening here, Angel, Kyle, Namor try to gather up the New Mutants to get them out. It doesn't go well.

( It would appear that Kyle is currently out of commission due to being consumed by a work of art. )

Johnny's fascination with a fire-breathing artist does not stop him from trying to play hero once the panic sets in. Sue is so not happy with her brother, and is stuck following him so he doesn't get himself in more trouble.

( You know, I hate to be a cliché, but 'I have a bad feeling about this... )

And then, things get weird. Not even Dadist weird.

Artie is somehow the voice of reason where dealing with bigots is concerned. It doesn't work, and things go south fast.

( Cry moar! I used to live in the sewers. Being a mutant is shit. )

Molly and Hope were just discussing haberdashery and historic art before the field trip curse struck. Hopefully Molly's awesome hat survives.

The art fair begins encouragingly enough. Topaz gets a quick lesson in what is art (hint: anything can be art) and is Pixie's first customer at her booth!

( Anyone's expression - be it on a canvas, fashion model or working machinery - that moves you emotionally is art. )

Artie meets a fellow classmate from his art school while waking the fair, and they talk food and fatigue and hipsterism.

( You might be a hipster but I'm not. No mo, no hipster. )

And Ty somehow manages to eat more than Kyle, and Namor just disapproves of everyone. Including Dali-inspired sidewalk artists.

( You draw melting clocks on a sidewalk while people are walking on it and you see how well you do. )
