Scott and Kylun run into each other while attempting to vent their frustrations via exercise, and bond over convergent insecurities. Each of them has some good advice for the other, and they might actually have found a way for Scott to remember to take time to relax.

I seem to have a talent for putting things mildly. But the whiplash does not sound strange to me. )

Cannonball, Cyclops, Kylun and Sunfire go around the back to sneak in quietly. But, as always, no plan survives contact with the enemy. Or the team.

So, draw straws to blow this thing down? Ah make too much of a racket, an' the idea is to be at least a -little-bit subtle, right? )

While Cannonball, Sunfire, Kylun and Cyclops look for Kyle, The Juggernaut and The Wolverine provide... a distraction, capitalize on their reputations, and much to their disappointment, are a tag-team.

Last team standing wins. Get out there. Cain stepped through the door, then paused. Wait, TEAM? We're a team? )

Cyclops runs into trouble, of a extra-large extra-armed Luchador variety. Still, One Eye defeats Four Arms. Superhero math for the win!

And with that he launched himself into a run, aiming a Size Nineteen Quadruple E bootsole smack at the center of Scott's chest. )

Shiro also runs into some trouble, although he would have probably preferred Scott's encounter to the one he got.

Shiro blinked. He was expecting a street fighter, not an invisible drag queen. )

Sam and Scott find Kyle. Still in Toad's clutches. Toad likes having clutches, he doesn't much like being found. Sam tries to bluff, Toad has a -very- bad day due to optic blasts, and Kyle gets grounded forever. And does NOT get to get his licks in on Toad.

And you, he said, as Kyle looked up at them, are grounded until the end of the world. )

Kylun has been delaying the final confirmation of his blood test results. Tonight he makes his decision.

I need your love to hold me up/When it's all too much to bear )
[identity profile] x-kylun.livejournal.com
The morning after Kylun's revelatory conversation with Charles, he goes down to the medlab so Jean can take a sample to send in for the blood test, and is uncharacteristically wibbly.

And his great, royal head drooped so that his nose nearly touched the grass. )
[identity profile] x-siryn.livejournal.com
When you have a zen monk at your disposal, you really have to consult him at some point. Particularly in the middle of a crisis. Kylun is predictably understanding and offers to have a "talk" with Jay and Bobby for Terry.

I don't want to have to choose sides. )
[identity profile] x-kylun.livejournal.com
After the events of the Hellfire Club, Kylun finds himself in need of someone to talk to, and goes in search of Wanda; in a stroke of good luck, he catches her on the way up to her room from the medlab.  A fairly rambly conversation takes place, which results in Kylun getting hit with a pillow.

If I say 'If that was the short version...' would you throw your tea at me? )

Alison gets the message she's been waiting for.

Ground Zero )

***

At the Hellfire Club, the Inner Circle gathers to induct its newest member.

Whatever you do: don't screw this up. )

***

At the mansion a very specialised team is briefed.

You picked a good night to reappear. )

***

The ceremony completed, Amanda is faced with her first task as Black Knight.

I might as well make the best of this little turn of events… )

***

The team infiltrates the Hellfire Club... with a little insider help.

I promise to tell you all about it when we get back home? )

***

In the ceremonial chamber, Amanda's pride is definitely suffering a fall.

Do you hate me or something? )

***

Alison and Nathan run into some opposition - none other than the Black King himself. And he's not pleased with his visitors.

First blood to you... last to me. )

***

Coming down to the wire... Whilst Nathan is occupied with Shaw, Alison arrives just in the nick of time, but things don't go all her way.

You should know that black isn't really your colour. )

Scott finds out it's not just the Libyan army catching up. A swift take-off is definitely in order.

Scrambling fighters = not good. )

Just like on another occasion, during another mad flight over another continent, the Blackbird's pursuers find out that she does indeed have weapons aboard.

Not the missiles themselves. The empty spaces inside them. Agitate the air molecules. )

Scott continues to fly his heart out. Kylun, Cole, and one of the children make a deal that involves kissing the ground.

I don't think any of these kids are going to grow up to be roller-coaster fans. )

There's a poem for every moment. Even this one.

High flight. )

Wanda rescues a girl who decides to ignore the metaphorical seatbelt light, and winds up getting up close and personal with Theo, who is a big fan of the idea of humor as coping mechanism.

I feel all gallant now. )

The Blackbird crosses the finish line the Tunisian border.

That's my girl. )

On the ground at the airstrip, Sam and Dom have a moment.

That wasn't you? Pity, I always found crazy flying very sexy. )

Scott checks his plane for bullet holes. Jean brings him some water. They're both in a rather good mood.

A good day. A very good day. )

A team of X-Men arrive in Gush Katif Tuesday evening (Israel time) to help relieve a hostage situation. Storm and Nightcrawler meet Ruth bat-Seraph, aka Sabra, an agent for Mossad who briefs them on the situation.

Never in my whole career have I encountered this before. )

Sabra and the X-Men break through the shields surrounding the barracks and charge. Nightcrawler teleports the hostages to safety, and then tries to converse with one of the kidnappers.

Your crime has shocked me to the core. )

Kylun faces an energy manipulator and a speedster, but out-classes them. In fact, that may be an understatement.

Jail us, beat us. We should be blamed. )

Meanwhile, Scarlet Witch finds herself up against two opponents, both of whom are intent on eliminating her but can't quite follow through.

Jail us and beat us. We should be blamed. )

[Placeholder: Jean's first mission as Phoenix pits her against another psi.]

Cable gets the easy job: shield the hostages and disable the precog and lycanthrope.

Seize him! Lock him in a cell. Throw the keys into the Nile as well. )

[Placeholder: A battle of the elements: Storm encounters a pyrokinetic and a hydrokinetic.]

Sabra gets the big guys. But brawn doesn't come with brain, even if they're supposedly scholars, and they do little to stop her.

Each of the brothers fell to his knees. Show him some mercy, oh mighty one, please. )

Blue, Gold and Black get briefed on their roles in the upcoming rescue. When you go up against the most dangerous mutants on the planet, you have to have a plan.

Big Damn Heroes )

Toad tries his hand at recruitment on the worst day possible. The X-men have no idea what lies in store for them.

Evil Career Faire )

Working interviews are the worst kind. Particularly when you're up against professionals. The recruits fail to pass with flying colors.

Hard to Find Good Help These Days )

Away from the fighting, Forge is finished with his assignment. Now just to test it.

This Might Sting A Bit )

Toad walks into the labs and finds a mess. Guess who has to tell the boss?

I've Got Bad News and I've Got Worse News )

When it all seems too easy, it's usually because it is. Scott and Ororo find their wayward charges and carry them out again.

This is the Price of Commanding )

The first engagement of the evening ends in embarrassing ways for Wanda and Nathan's poor targets. And here the bad guys thought they were being clever.

Two of our bigoted art critics coming in looking furtive.  )

~*~

Nathan creeps up on Bobby and informs him of the fact that he's giving the éclairs on the dessert table quite the competition as far as some of the evening's attendees are concerned. Another poor would-be villain gets routed as well.

You're giving off the lost-puppy aura. )

~*~

Kylun and Alison find a few hapless victims - er, villains - of their own to pick on. Subtlety in the disposal of unwanted guests is the rule of the evening, clearly.

My plan to hide behind the celebrity clearly is not working very well. )

~*~

The key moment of the evening finally arrives - and is dealt with admirable calm and resourcefulness by Bobby and Nathan. Icicles aren't every girl's best friend, don'tcha know.

Gun. )

~*~

After everything is dealt with, the team stays to enjoy the rest of the evening, as well as to keep an eye out just in case of more trouble. Alison decides chocolate is the best reward possible, much to Nathan's dismay.

You are an evil, evil woman. )
[identity profile] x-kylun.livejournal.com
Before Wanda gets dressed up herself, she happens upon Kylun swearing at the mirror, and bullies him into his suit over a number of perfectly reasonable objections and some plain old-fashioned stubbornness.

The underwear does not adequately prevent rumpling. )
[identity profile] x-kylun.livejournal.com
A few days before Scott tells Bobby he's back on the team, Kylun and Bobby share a Danger Room training session, after which Kylun takes perhaps a smidge too much glee in breaking Bobby's brain several times on the subject of Terry.

Escape. Escape would be good. This was mortifying. )
[identity profile] x-kylun.livejournal.com
In which Kylun catches Jean practicing an unusual solution to bad footing, and is appropriately congratulatory when he finds out why. Well, mostly appropriately.

Entendre? What entendre? He's just a fuzzy monk. )

Nimrod

The Blackbird arrives in Hungary and is greeted by Istvan Barath, the Minister of Mutant Affairs and an old friend of Charles. He has some less-than-good news for Scott and Ororo about how the police are handling their cornered serial killer.

When bureaucracy works against you... )

At the apartment building where Veres/Nimrod has been cornered, the X-Men begin to search as the police finally begin to evacuate the tenants. Kurt perhaps wishes for an image inducer.

How do you say 'I am not a demon' in Hungarian? )

On another floor, Wanda finds herself in perfect position to react when Veres finally reveals himself. Not all the tenants on that floor have been evacuated, and Wanda has to resort to some risky tactics to protect the innocent.

An incompetent landlord is sometimes a good thing. )

So what did happen to knock out the X-Men's telepathic switchboard? Also, Bobby and Shiro, along as trainee observers, get a chance to step in and perform under pressure.

The tale of a ballistic coatrack... )

Final confrontation-time. Things do not go well for Scott, who's the first to find Veres after he gets away from Wanda, but with the addition of Haroun and Kylun to the equation, the balance shifts. Still, Veres doesn't go down easily.

The hunter at bay. (Eventually.) )
