Tommy makes the perfectly innocent mistake of opening his door just as Rachel, on a mad dash for freedom, floats by. Rachel proceeds to be very disturbing very cute. Is she enjoying the encounter just a little bit too much? You decide! (Thankfully, Domino wanders by and rescues Tommy retrieves the evil telepathic baby.)
Stretching and yawning as he walked, Tommy lazily walked over to the small fridge in the main room of the suite for a bottle of water and was put out when he found none in there. Rolling his eyes, he walked across the room to the door, set on making a quick run to the storage pantry.
As he opened the door, there was an "Oooooo!" from the hallway. There, floating at about eye-level, was a red-haired baby who gave Tommy a huge smile and clapped her little hands.
"Oooooo!" Rachel squealed, bobbing in the air. New person! "Eeeee!"
Tommy's eyes went so wide he felt the strain. He managed to blink at this odd sight before shutting the door quickly. Taking a moment to clear his head and convince himself there was not a flying baby outside his door, he opened the door again. Well shit...
"Heehee!" Rachel gazed at Tommy joyfully, the bubble floating forward until it was hovering just in front of his face. Happy excitement emanated outwards from her mind, like golden champagne bubbles.
It took him a moment to figure out where the happy excitement was coming from as he knew that was clearly *not* his reaction to this. Oh wonderful...a floating AND psychic baby! This was just getting better and better....
But Tommy figured it would be best not to upset the baby so slamming the door and pretending this wasn't happening wasn't the answer. So instead, he managed a small smile, the bubbly false excitement helped a little and nodded to the baby. "Excuse me." He said before stepping around it.
"Rachel!" came an exasperated female voice from down the hall. It was followed by a clearly out of breath Domino, who made a terrible face at the giggling, floating baby. "Good God, you brat. When your father told me you flew I didn't think he meant at mach one." She eyed Tommy for a moment, then offered a brief, wry smile, her violet eyes gleaming with good humor. "Did she startle you?"
"Slightly." Tommy had no idea who this woman was, but was thanking god she had showed up so he wouldn't have to deal with this awkward situation.
"Come here, you," Domino said, extending her arms to the baby. "Come to Aunt Dom so your mother doesn't kill me for letting you make a run for it."
Cooing, Rachel floated forward and into Dom's arms, where she promptly snuggled happily. "You little demon," Domino said, then kissed the top of the baby's head. "Sorry about that," she said with another smile for Tommy, not having any idea who the kid was, only that he seemed a little rattled. "I think she's getting a kick out of scaring the crap out of people. At this rate we're going to have to childproof the whole damned place."
"It's alright, really." Tommy took a few back steps towards the stairs and away from the odd baby. "Excuse me, I was just heading to the kitchen. I'm glad you found her." He nodded, before turning away and taking a deep breath.
Domino eyed the retreating boy, then looked at Rachel. Well, she thought at the telepathic baby, I wonder what all that was about?
#Eeee! Mwahah!#
Domino snorted. "Evil telepathic laughter. Oh, Cain is so right about you, isn't he?"
