Jane runs into Haroun and lets lose. Too bad he's not going to be able to tell anyone.

My, my, my. Isn't this my lucky day, Jane thought to herself as she stared across the parking lot. She wasn't really on the hunt today, but if fate was going to drop a chance like this in her lap, who was she to argue. Striding across the lot towards the man struggling with too much to carry, she wondered what would be the most fun way to deal with him. Well, she'd just wait and see.

"Haroun," she said, coming up behind him, "do you need a hand?"

Haroun blinked as he struggled to get all the new sparring gear into the Jeep without dropping anything and/or looking like a complete idiot. "Sure, Jean. Thanks!" he said gratefully. Telekinetics make hauling things around _MUCH_ easier. "Wasn't expecting to run into you out here." he said.

"Me either," she admitted. A careless gesture and the gear was lifted out of his hands and sorted away into the Jeep with no apparent effort - quite a change from Haroun's struggles. "How are things?"

Haroun let Jean put the gear into the Jeep and then turned to face her more directly. "Want a lift back to the school?" he asked her. Then his stomach grumbled. "Check that. Up for a spot of lunch?" he asked her. "There's a good place not too far from here."

Jane's eyes went cold for a moment. "No, I definitely do not want a lift back to the school." Well aware that Haroun was clearly missing something, she decided to play it up and scowled at him. "That's not funny."

Haroun blinked again at Jean's reaction. "This is a joke," he said with a scowl. "I hate practical jokes. All right, so what's the next step here, Jean? Jamie put you up to something, or has my bride-to-be decided to cancel the detente?"

Jane snorted. "Your bride is not the one with any problems, so far as I know. Although," she added, thinking this conversation might make its way back to Scott, "given how completely oblivious men seem to be, you might as well check with her."

Haroun hrmmed. "OK, now you're weirding me out." he said, looking around to spot any potential practical jokers lurking in the parking lot. "What is going _on_ here?"

Oh, the perversely amusing possibilities. "Well, Haroun, since it's you, I'll lay it out in really simple terms, you self righteous, dumb fuck. I've come to the incredibly liberating realization that not a one of you freaks is worth the air you breathe, let alone my time. I've quit the school and Xavier's band of leather clad morons, because his little crusade for justice is a joke, have left my husband and am now on a mission to break his mind into little pieces because it amuses me, and the fact that you're here makes you an appealing target, not because you mean anything to me - I mean, your even less human than the rest of them, and all Forge's 'enhancements' are never going to make you a man. It's just that you're easy. Too easy."

And in the second it took Haroun to process what she'd just said, the memory was gone, whipped out of his mind as smooth as silk.

"You want to know what's going on, Haroun?" she asked. "Nothing." And turning, she walked away.

Haroun didn't even have time to react before Jean wiped what she'd just said out of his mind. "Oookay." he said as Jean walked away. "See ya later, Jean!" he said with a wave, then unlocked and got into the Jeep. "Now that was weird." he said, shaking his head.
