Angelo makes up for Amanda stealing him from the office by working on a Saturday. Sooraya brings him lunch.

Sooraya was beginning to wonder if locating the Elpis office all the way out at the boathouse was a good idea. It was a nice place, true, and the lake made the atmosphere very calming, but it also meant that she had to trek all the way out there with a tray in her hands to bring food to the various workaholics out there. Not that she minded, as long as Angelo really was out there and not hiding someplace else.

In this instance, she was in luck, although really most days he didn't tend to go far from the boathouse during the working day. He looked up in surprise as he heard a noise at the door, then got up hurriedly to open it for her when he saw the tray.

"Hello," Sooraya greeted him, smiling as she stepped inside the boathouse. "It is lunch. Here is food for you." She had noticed the young man had been scarce in the kitchen for the past few days, and though she knew he could prepare his own food in his suite, she didn't want to leave it to chance.

Could, yes, and even make it edible. Did, however.... rather more rarely than he should, barring snacks. "...you brought me food?" he asked unnecessarily, startled but smiling.

"Yes," she said with a nod. "I am help, in the kitchen, and make the lunch for everyone. You do not come to the kitchen, so I will bring the food to you."

"Thanks", he said with sincerity, reaching to relieve her of the tray. "You didn't have to, but... I do appreciate it."

Sooraya nodded and followed him as he carried the tray over to the table. "It is not good to not eat," she told him seriously, hands folded together. "I will be sad that you are sick when you do not eat."

Angelo turned mid-pulling out the chair to eye her a little warily, though not in any really negative way. "I promise I won't not eat for long enough to get sick."

"Good," Sooraya said, sounding satisfied. "Then I will not be sad."

"...now, where did you learn to guilt-trip like that?" was the response, more amused than anything.

The Afghan girl gave him an innocent look - one very similiar to the wide-eyed puppydog gaze that Nathan had gotten down to an art. "It is the truth... I am worry when you are sick. That is all."

"Worried", he corrected automatically, not taken in by the innocent look in the slightest. "An' not above usin' that to get me to eat, clearly. But I'm not sick, honest."

"You do not look good," Sooraya countered. "You are tired, yes?"

...there wasn't really any answer to that that let him win, he realized after a moment. "I'm just not sleepin' so good right now. It'll pass, an' it doesn't mean I'm sick."

Surprisingly, Sooraya shook her head, a slightly disapproving look coming over her face. "You are like Nathan. You cannot stop the thinking about work even when you are not at work. It is not good... you will make yourself be sick. It is possible, I know."

"It's not just work that's makin' me not sleep", he said quietly. "It's Smichov. An' it will pass."

"I think I will bring you food until it is passed," Sooraya said solemnly. "So you will not have to think on it. That is good, yes?"

"That would be very good", he assured her. "Only if you really don't mind, though."

Sooraya smiled widely, as if Angelo had just made a joke, and shook her head. "I like to. It is good to see you."

"You know you're always welcome to come down here, whenever you want", he offered. "When we're here, anyway."

"Thank you."

"You're welcome."

"Now," she said, straightening up in her seat. "If you will eat all your lunch, I will bring you a dessert. It is like a bride, yes?"

Angelo blinked, not sure which of them had the language difficulty here. "...like a bride?"

Frowning, Sooraya furrowed her brow, trying to think if she had the correct word. "Yes... A thing to give a person if they are to do a thing you want? That is a bride?"

"...oh, a bribe." He grinned, relieved. "No, a bride's the woman a guy marries. You meant a bribe."

"Oh," Sooraya said, nodding eagerly. "Yes. That is the thing I meant. I do not think it is a bride... unless you are to marry a cupcake!"

"An' that would just be weird", he said solemnly.
