Janet and Kurt - Tiny Fun
Apr. 16th, 2007 05:11 pmJan meets Kurt in the gym and is surprised with a present.
Janet buzzed over to the gym where Mr. Sefton had told her to meet him and glared at the big, giant, heavy gym doors. Luckily, her fists were much stronger than her voice, so her rapid pounding on the door could be heard inside.
Kurt looked up at the sound and blinked, then straightened up to go and open the doors. "Hello?"
"Hello!" Jan said loudly but cheerfully as she flew around his head. She was still working on trying to be heard at a decent volume at her astonishing new height of two-and-a-half inches tall, but at least now she could be heard if people were listening.
He was listening, and had slightly sharper hearing than the human norm (if nowhere near the level of Kyle, Terry or Logan) so heard her fairly easily. "Hello, Janet. How are you today?"
"I'm great!" she practically shouted. "What about you?"
"Very well, thank you", he told her, smiling. "Would you like to see what I have been building for you?"
"Sure!" she said, landing on his head.
He blinked again, trying to look up at her, then just laughed and turned to walk back to his construction, in an otherwise empty corner of the gym.
"It's so cute! And tiny! Just like me!" Jan declared when she saw Mr. Sefton's mini-invention.
Kurt laughed, bending so she could take a closer look at the little trapeze. "I thought you would like it."
"I love it!" Jan said, peering at it. "Hopefully I'll be bigger, really bigger, I mean, and able to use a real one, but even then it will be cool to practice while I'm little!"
"That was the idea", he said cheerfully. "And of course you will get back to being bigger. But until then, there is no reason you should not practise as much as you want to."
"Can we start now?" Jan asked, hopping off his shoulder and buzzing around her new toy.
"Absolutely", he assured her, amused and pleased by her enthusiasm.
"I don't need a net because I can fly!" Jan laughed as she grabbed ahold of the bar.
"Exactly. So I did not put one in." He couldn't help laughing as he watched her - it was contagious.
Humming to herself, her wings moving rapidly, Jan swung back and forth. She knew you weren't supposed to use wings while on a trapeze, but oh well!
