The travellers arrive in Las Vegas for their vacation.

I am never flying coach again Medusa thought with a shudder as she pushed her sunglasses further up on her nose. In Las Vegas, sunglasses inside were interpreted more as a sign of someone hungover trying to avoid the light than of a celebrity trying to hide her status, so the royal wasn't drawing a great deal of attention. Her usually noticeable red locks were tied back and dyed a rich, chocolatey brown - the color wouldn't last long, but it would get her through the airport well enough. "Why did I let you talk me into this again?" Medusa said, turning to glance at her roommate. She and Monet had gotten off to a rocky start, but now that the Attilani royal was no longer living with the Australian, she'd found herself actually liking the girl.

"I don't know but I feel your pain. I swear, I'm going to kick the next person who suggests I fly economy so hard. Even teleportation-by-grandad is less horrible. The guy next to me smelled and he couldn't seem to understand that you need to blow your nose every now and then." Monet was more than a little glad that she didn't have to worry about cameras - it was doubtful most of the people here even knew where Australia was, let alone who the local media personalities were. "Do you have to be twenty one to gamble over here or is that just for drinking? Because I've never actually played blackjack."

Tabitha snorted lightly. "You, my dear, have fun playing Bingo. Everything else is 21 and up." She sidled around the foreign-born girls then turned to call over her shoulder. "And watch out for the old ladies with sixteen cards each. They're evil."

"Yeah, too bad it's not 18, because that would be a great way to celebrate my birthday!" Jan piped in. It was as if this trip had been designed just for her. Happy birthday Janet, you're going to help save the world, go have a party in Vegas!

Kyle had to wiggle one of the noise-masking earplugs out of his ear before being able to follow the conversation. The slot machines and people were starting to give him a little bit of a headache. But even with it, he still was just plain excited to be on vacation. "We could go ride that rollercoaster on top of one of the hotels! I totally want to do that. That, and... no, that's really pretty much the only thing I want to do that I planned on."

Yvette, sticking close to Kyle and Kurt as the more obvious mutants of the group, giggled a little. "There is being the rollercoaster on the top of the hotel? That is sounding very high up." She turned to Kurt. "Has Mr. Sefton been on the rollercoaster before?"

"Not for a very long time", he told her with a smile. "Would anyone else like to go on it?"

"Ooh!" said Mondo, returning from the Little Samoan's Room in time to hear Yvette mention the rollercoasters. "That sounds like a whole lot of fun." he pronounced.

They were making his head hurt, Nathan thought dourly, retrieving his suitcase. He didn't know what the hell he was doing here, why he'd let Moira talk him into this. Do I really need a vacation badly enough to go back to Vegas? He hadn't particularly enjoyed his last visit here, after all. At least this time they weren't robbing anyone.

If it had been a thought spoken out loud, John would have agreed. The conversation was a killer to listen to; it had however been muted on the plane by his iPod while idle hands had been kept busy on crossword puzzles and random doodling. Fucked up airline regulation, he thought as he unzipped his luggage and retrieved his zippo; enclosed in a DOT approved lighter case.

Sam was still rather amazed that the prize package had included the reduced fares for all of the people who had decided to join him. Normally those sort of promotions were only yourself and one guest, and extremely regulated in terms of what dates you could go on. But, all the chaos of the group aside, it was nice to get out with a group and have a vacation. There were times when the mansion could get a bit insular and cloistering. Sam nimbly snatched up his somewhat battered plaid suitcase, an heirloom of his father's, and slung the backpack he'd carried on to the flight over a shoulder. "Everyone got their stuff?" he asked, attempting to ride herd on the group.

Medusa glanced at the matched set of Luis Vuitton bags filling a baggage cart before nodding at Jackson. "I believe I have collected all of my belongings. I know that a public shuttle to the hotel was arranged for everyone, but after that particularly...memorable experience of commercial flight, I believe I will be arranging my own car." She paused, tilting her head and glancing around the group. "Of course, several of you are more than welcome to join me, should you so desire."

"Oh, baby, I love you." Monet was not, under any circumstances, planning to take the bus to their hotel, especially not when she was starting to get a pounding headache from the noise, psionic and actual, in the area. She carefully ignored the thought that this perhaps meant she needed to work on her sheilds in crowded environments. "Want to come with, Kyle?"

"Yes. Please." Kyle said, slightly desperately. The earplugs weren't doing enough to block out the noise from the slot machines -in the airport-. "This place is insane. What's with the gambling in the airport?" He pushed his dufflebag further up on his shoulder and gave Monet and Medusa the most grateful look he could muster up, complete with approaching making a face much like a beaten puppy. "I'd make requests about leg room, but I'm guessing I don't have to? Because oh God, I think my legs were in my -ears- for that flight."

Over at the baggage carousel, Yvette struggled with her bag. It wasn't very large or heavy, but she wasn't terribly strong. "Um, please to be helping?" she asked plaintively as she had to give up and watch her bag go circling around again.

Mondo laughed and reached out to snag Yvette's bag from the carousel. "Here you go!" he said with a smile, dropping the bag at his feet. "Why don't you let me carry this one for you, ya?" he said with a grin. Vegas was like Disney for adults! He couldn't wait to tell his Papa all about it. All the lights, the sounds, the little whirly-things - he was enraptured. Fascinated, really.

"Thank you, to be helping," Yvette's eyes glowed, and there was the slightest give her in expression that signalled her skin was beginning to soften again.

Tabitha grinned widely. "Given the choice between public shuttle and private car on my first vacation in many, many years... You have one try to guess my answer, and the first two don't count." She yanked her giant, and much-duct-taped UC Monterey bag from the carousel and hauled it over her shoulder. "Everybody ready?"

"Ready!" Jan sang out cheerfully, pulling her rolling suitcase behind her.
