xp_logs | Sound of Silence - Betrayal: Yvette and Crystal

Yvette finds Crystal to say goodbye. Unfortunately for Yvette, Crystal isn't quite herself at the moment.

Crystal took some finding, and Yvette was worried she wouldn't get a chance to say goodbye before she left, but eventually she had some success. "Crystal!" she called to the other girl with a little wave. "There you are being! I wanted to be saying goodbye, and thank you, for to be having me in your home!" she chirped cheerfully.

"Oh, hello." Unfortunately for the younger girl, she had caught Crystal during while she was in the middle of another "session." Usually, Crystal greeted her former suitemates with a smile, in fact she'd been smiling a lot this weekend, but the smile was missing now. "You found me. Goodbye, thank you for coming."

Yvette blinked, but carried on regardless. "I am enjoying my time here very much," she said. "It is being the very nice party."

"It was a very nice party," Crystal corrected. "The party took place yesterday and is not an event occurring right now." Everything was 'being' something to Yvette. There someone was being. Something was being something. Couldn't the girl learn English already? "Also, I think you meant to say 'I enjoyed my time here.' Past tense, seeing as how you are currently engaged in the process of leaving. Come to think of it, though, I suppose you could still be enjoying your time here, even the leaving part."

"Oh." It wasn't the first time anyone had corrected Yvette's English, but the tone... "I am b... I am sorry," she said, eyeglow dimming. "Crystal, are you..." She stumbled over the words, trying to get the tenses right. "Are you well?"

"Yes, I am feeling..." Yvette's last three words formed an idea that was pushed into her mind. Not feeling well. Now there is a thought... "Now that you mention it, perhaps I am not feeling all that well." Crystal yawned. "I am tired, too. There have been so many people and so much noise in the palace for the past few days. Really, it has almost seemed as if we were at the school."

And knowing how much Crystal disliked the school, that wasn't entirely a good thing. "Then I will be going, and to let you be resting," Yvette said softly. "I am... I hope you are being happy, to be home." She couldn't hug Crystal like she would have Angel or Mondo, so instead she held out a gloved hand to shake. "I am glad, to be your friend, and to be visiting. Thank you."

Just a handshake, and then the girl who had the strange notion that they were friends would go away. "Yes, I am very happy to be home in a place that makes sense, a place where I do not have to worry about being kidnapped, where people do not show up nearly every day bloodied, bruised, broken, and in comas." Crystal shook the offered gloved hand quickly. "Watch out for yourself at Xavier's. It's a shame what that place is doing to the young mutants in their care."

"But..." Yvette would have argued, but she'd already proven her English wasn't up to Crystal's standards for that. And the other girl was acting almost impatiently, as if wanting her to just go already. "Goodbye," she said instead, her voice dropping a little sadly. It was all very strange, but maybe it was just Crystal being tired and not feeling well.

"Did we not do this part already? Goodbye." With a wave that was more dismissive than friendly, Crystal turned around and began to walk down the garden path. "Do not get lost on your way out," she said before lifting up into the air and flying back towards the palace.

Yvette watched her go, a faint ripple passing over her skin as it reacted to her emotional state. Crystal had been rude. Crystal was never rude, not even to or about Mr. Logan, even when she had cause. Maybe something was wrong?

Or just maybe she was glad to be cutting her final ties with the school. With a little sigh, Yvette turned and left, heading for the room where her suitcase waited.
