After this post, Scott goes up to find out what's going on with Kurt.

Being off the crutches was nice, but it would be better when he stopped hobbling. The knee was not liking its renewed weight-bearing status, either. Scott stopped in front of Kurt's door, leaning against the wall and pondering what he'd say, post-knock. Why are you confining your sister to your suite, Kurt? was perhaps a little blunt.

Kurt had heard the footsteps - familiar in their irregularity - before they stopped outside his door, and he was about to open it when the knock came. He didn't meet it with his usual smile of greeting, just a tense nod. "Scott. Hello."

"Kurt." Scott didn't straighten; the wall's support was nice, and he somehow didn't think Kurt would appreciate him insisting to be invited in right now. "You know I've got to ask."

"She is grounded", Kurt said flatly, not moving from the doorway. "As I said. I can keep an eye on her, if she stays here." He knew that wouldn't be enough, but 'my sister is here as part of a family plot to do something to my other sister'... needed careful phrasing.

Scott chose his words carefully. "I don't mean to interfere in family matters," he said. "Can I assume she's gotten herself into some trouble, and you taking her back to Germany and making sure she doesn't get into any more trouble in the interim is about trying to rectify the situation?"

"You might say that", Kurt said grimly. "She got herself caught doing something... unwise." He glanced back into the room, at the girl out of Scott's eyeline, who was curled up sullenly on the couch. "She is better off in my custody than with Snow Valley, and fortunately they gave her to me."

"Fortunately," Scott said, a bit dryly. It didn't need pointing out that there wasn't much anyone could do to keep Kurt from taking someone elsewhere if he chose to; the touch of irony in Kurt's comment was barely noticeable unless you knew him very well. "Well. Just reassure me that the police aren't going to show up at the door, and I'll get my nose back out of your business."

"I think I can promise that", Kurt said with a nod. "They were not involved in her being caught, and I do not think anyone who was would want to bring them in." He glanced back again, then added, "I may be in Germany for some time. Or I may not. I do not know."

"Well... take your com," Scott suggested quietly. "Let us know if you need anything. We can look at getting someone to cover your classes if need be."

"Thank you, Scott", he answered, agreeing to the com suggestion with another nod, followed up by a dry chuckle. "You have to admit, my family emergencies tend to be special."

"Remember where you live, Kurt. 'Special' family emergencies tend to be the norm."
