Angelo and friends in Israel
Aug. 29th, 2007 08:27 pmBackdated because I... may have a) been lazy and b) forgotten Alicia couldn't post this one. Angelo arrives in Tel Aviv and is met by Domino and Theo. Much friendly teasing ensues.
Six months on, and the airport looked exactly the same as in his memories. Strange, when so much else had changed so soon after his last arrival here, Angelo reflected as he pulled his trolley out through the arrivals gate.
Oddly enough, he was faced by the exact same greeting party. Theo, towering over the rest of the crowd, waved cheerfully at him. Beside him, as the crowd parted, was Domino - leaning very heavily on a cane, and looking pale and older in a way she hadn't six months before. She was smiling at him too, however.
He took in the sight of her, and her obvious pain, and his answering smile wavered a little before firming as he approached them. "Hey, guys. How's things?"
"Can't complain," Domino said in a very familiar flippant tone. "Look, upright and mobile and all that crap. Although I might make Theo carry me back out to the car."
"All you have to do is ask," Theo pointed out.
"Nah. I hate to make a scene."
"...since when did you wait for anyone to ask, Theo?" Angelo asked, amused and relieved to hear Domino sound so much like herself, at least.
"Well, you know, she bites..."
Domino laughed, sliding her arm through Angelo's. "Take the bags, Grizz. Stop exaggerating." She was actually moving fairly well, if slowly, as they headed towards the exit. "So Ani and the baby are home. He's awfully cute."
"Home already?" he asked in surprise, taking Domino's arm without obviously supporting her. "That's pretty good."
"Well, when Mom has a healing factor and Baby's perfectly healthy, not much need to keep them in hospital." Something very close to a snicker escaped Domino. "I gather the delivery room personnel were suitably traumatized by a feral-in-labor. Ian claims there was a lot of hissing
and cursing, and he was forced to intervene to make sure she clawed only him."
"Well, they tell me that's what the father's for when it comes to that", Angelo said with a grin. "'course, it's usually more along the lines of gettin' his hand broken, not clawed."
"Eh, he didn't mention it but I wouldn't be surprised. When they brought Ani and the baby home, Little Nate got introduced and has been looking very disconsolate," Domino said mock-woefully.
Angelo chuckled. "He's not the only baby in the house anymore, of course he's jealous."
"Wait a few years and they'll both be competing over Rachel."
