Kevin goes to track down Nori after this lovely chain of event's in Kyle's journal. Being well intentioned doesn't mean you can patch it up, though.

That was not a happy thing. Kevin wasn't actually sure what he did exactly to piss off Nori, he just knew that she was mad at him. He'd shoved his laptop into his bag before leaving his room because communication in person with Nori was shaky at best and communication was sort of needed right now. What he did know what she was going to watch really bad movies with Kyle. Really, really bad movies, but then Kevin didn't like Jack Black.

He spotted Noriko down the hall and cringed inwardly. It was one thing dealing with Jay's friend who didn't approve of him being with Jay, but it was another thing to deal with his own. Kevin hadn't really given it much consideration before, but he really did consider Noriko a friend, which was likely the only reason he was bothering right now. "Hey," the word was awkward in his mouth as he'd stopped in front of her, purposely positioned between her and her destination. "Can Ah talk to you?" His accent was light, soft vowels of his typical Georgian accent that he only really used with her so she could understand him.

Nori had left the computer in a truly royal snit, and the time she'd spent stomping around in the teen girl squad suite hunting down and then popping the popcorn she carried in a bowl now hadn't calmed her temper a whit. It had, though, given her enough time to manage at least something approaching an outwardly calm façade. Which cracked the second Kevin stepped in front of her. "Omae." She scowled fiercely. "Nori is Kevin not talking."

Kevin cringed rather visibly. "But why?" If he'd actually done something worth her being pissed at him over he'd be okay with that, but he hadn't actually done anything. What, so he didn't out himself? He wasn't gay, or he didn't consider himself gay. He just liked Jay. Which, well, made no sense he realized but at least he knew that. "What'd Ah do that made you mad?"

Nori rolled her eyes. "Kevin is Nori not talking. Dakara... So Nori is Kevin not talking." Her tone suggested that she considered Kevin slightly dumber than the average seaweed for not being able to figure this out on his own. Nevermind the fact that her brain wiring caused her thoughts to leap from a to f without stopping in between. Or a to 7, as the case may be.

He sighed. Women were always this crazy? Maybe Nori was specially crazy. "But Kevin is Nori talking." Great, now Ah'm speakin' broken English too. What was he not talking to her about? She just suddenly up and decided she wasn't speaking to him. Kevin scratched his head, trying to figure out what the hell he did, eyebrows creeping upward. "You mean about Jay? You're made because Ah didn't tell you?"

Nori's eyes narrowed and she nodded sharply, saying, "Un. Kusobaka." It was something of an advantage that Nori lacked any sort of guile or ability to dissemble, angry or otherwise. Of course, the flip side to that was her complete lack of tact.

The nod made the point, but whatever she'd just said was beyond Kevin. With slightly widened eyes he really hoped he was interpreting that correctly by assuming it meant the same as the head nod. "Ah didn't tell anyone. Ah didn't just not tell you. Ah didn't tell anybody. Jay is why people know, not me."

For a second it looked like Nori might hit him, but even as she raised her hand to do so her mercurial mood shifted and the hand simply shoved through her short hair, sparks lifting it into a halo momentarily. "Omae..." The word was more just an exhalation of breath than anything else. "Fine." The one word came out, clipped in just that tone that girls use when they're really mad - clearly she'd picked it up from one of her suite or classmates to use it so aptly. "Sore... Is fine. But Nori is anou..." And now her frustration with the language thing was bleeding into it all, turning her into a bundle of nerves and anger. "Nori is question. Kevin is usotsuki!... LIE!"

"What?" Kevin squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, taking a deep breath. "How'm Ah a lie? Hang on." He pulled up the flap of his bag and pulled out his laptop. "Can you write it?" Jesus, this was annoying. "Ah mean. Ah figured how to get it to translate on screen. So we can write. And understand."

She glared at him for a second, than snatched the laptop and stomped over to one of the small hall tables, setting both laptop and popcorn bowl down with rather more force than necessary. She was busy at the keys for a few moments, but when she moved away and crossed her arms across her chest Kevin could see she'd not written anything. Instead she'd pulled up the thread in Kyle's journal and highlighted Kevin's reply agreeing that the translator was busted. "Is lie," she hissed at him, her face suddenly going blank.

This was the time when a person really needed a good stone wall to bash their head against a few dozen times to get brain cells cooperating. "Ah'm sorry, Ah," he groaned at himself, squinting at the screen. Leaning over to reach the touch pad and moving to highlight in Kyle's journal where she'd told Jean-Phillipe it was weird he wanted to go on a date with a guy. "That's why." After a second of thought he decided to not try to speak and instead pulled up the translation program. He typed quickly, fingers clicking on the keyboard until he pulled back. One side of the screen had what he'd typed in English, the other side translated it into Japanese. It read, You didn't seem too thrilled with the idea of two guys together. I didn't even want people knowing really, because it's none of their business. But Jay shares and the last time he shared I wanted to put his friend through a wall because of the things he accused me of. I was caught off guard, okay? And I didn't want to go losing you as a friend because I couldn't figure out what to say about me being with Jay.

Noriko read it through silently, face not betraying a thing, then she highlighted everything he'd written and deleted it with a quick, sharp motion, typing into the Japanese interface. She wasn't a fast typer but eventually she finished, hitting the complete button. And then, before moving back, she added something very laboriously, hunting down keys and pecking at them, frowning slightly. When she finally let Kevin see what she'd written it read, I don't care about that. It's weird. It startled me. Whatever. I thought you were my friend and you don't even trust me. And, at the bottom, what she'd worked so hard on. In English she'd typed out 'Jackass.'

Kevin gave her a sideways, narrowed-eye look. At least she'd managed the important part in English, didn't she? Clearing his throat, he cleared what she'd written and typed anew on the English side. The words he left staring at her from the screen read, I didn't tell anyone, Nori! No one. Not even Clarice, who I suckered into helping me find something for him. I'm your friend, but it's not a matter of not trusting you. I don't like everyone knowing my business. I don't tell pretty much anyone anything, and half the time that includes my boyfriend unless I have to tell him, which sort of seems to happen a lot actually. I'm sorry I didn't tell you before but it doesn't exactly come up, does it? And I had no intention of going off and declaring my relationship in the journal of my boyfriend's ex.

That last bit gave Nori a moment's pause (seriously, was everyone gay and she'd just not noticed? But then why had Kevin and Kyle been talking about school girl uniforms? This country made no sense!) but she shrugged it off after a second, fighting to get her mind back on track. Again, she deleted his words and set about replying, this time the rather terse message didn't take more than a few moments to type out. You didn't talk to me. I'm not talking to you. You wanted to know. Now you know. Picking up the popcorn bowl again, Noriko turned to storm off.
