Clint's father's place gets ding-dong ditched, and then a visitor on the fire escape. Clint and Billy are understandably concerned, but Maddie is just not having any of it.

( On the fire escape, all they could see was the retreating back of a person in a black suit going down the ladder quickly. )

Hope's attempt to take her friends out for a proper British tea goes swimmingly, until they are interuppted by an unwelcome and persistant visitor who really wants the girls' attention.

( It halted, black-clad foot in mid-air and then slid back, one too-long finger coming up to cover where its lips would be, if the thing hadn't had a blank featureless face - in the universal )

Matt and Sue's brunch date is ruined by the sense that something is just not right, and a man with no heartbeat who smells like funerals.

( The brim of his hat cast a shadow on a blank featureless face, with no more color than his shirt, and the smell of damp and petals clung to him. )

Being the last girls on the bus is about as unwelcoming as it sounds. Molly and Renee try to make the best of a bad situation, but their plan for waffles is interuppted by an unwelcome encounter.

( He pulled the collar of his black suit up, and then curled an arm around one of the supports, wrapping around it several times with a solid black arm that ended not in a hand, but a single digit colored the same black as his jacket. )

Tandy runs back to where they all left the van, and finds Jean-Phillipe enjoying his coffee and a book. She tries her best to convince him they're being stalked, but he sees right through her. Slendermen are an internet meme.

( Tandy, do not be ridiculous. Every one of those pictures and videos of 'Slendermen' is fabricated. )

Matt tries to call back to the mansion, and has no better luck, because on the other end of the phone is Jennie Stavros, and a tiny little kitchen fire.

( They're apparently having -Issues- or something and then the reception went bad. )

On the way to meeting up at the safest place they can think of, Billy and Topaz put their heads together, and decide that maybe they can try to do something to keep themselves and their friends safe, or at least safer, until they can convince the adults that something awful is happening.

( So faceless, otherworldly beings are stalkin' us and the so-called authority figures don't seem to think anythin's wrong. Brilliant. )

Topaz does her best to protect her classmates, fueling the ward with her own emotions, and the best they can do is hope it works.

( Someone want to go see if Maddie's been convinced yet that we're actually -not- mad? )

The boys have their own stall, and are no less freaked out - Billy is not confident about his artistic abilities at all.

( Yeah those things freak me out too, but if they don't believe us, we just gotta do this on our own. 'Kay I think they're ready. Give me your arm. )

The other group of girls are skeptical. Well, Madelyne Jennifer Pryor is skeptical, and not amused, and just not having any of this. Her friends are clearly cray.

( Besides, Henna makes me all itchy, anyways. Y'all can do whatever you want, I'm not putting that stuff on my skin. I'm a very delicate flower. )

Matt, Hope and Renee lose everyone else in the subway, and have to make their way back to the station. How can you lose an entire subway car full of people?

( People just do not disappear into thin air. )

Except that Topaz and Maddie were in the same car. They're fine, except for the fact that every single one of their classmates, and all the passengers has disappeared. They get up into the city - but it is just as empty as their train was.

( Well I'm stuck in a Subway car with a British-Indian. So the obvious answer is that this is the Rapture and our heathen asses were left behind. )

Clint and Molly make it to the station - but somewhere on the ride there, they've lost their friends and classmates, and also - every other passenger in the subway.

( Where'd...they all go? )

Tandy, Billy and Sue manage to get seperated from the group, while riding the same car as everyone else. New York Transit is just not reliable anymore.

( I thought these tattoos were supposed to protect us. )

After arriving home, Clinton Barton's foster fathers are the opposite of welcoming, and have a message from Clint's brother.

( He told us what you did, about why he left you. )

Hope Abbott finally confronts her mother, and gives into anger.

William Kaplan has his own encounter with the Slendermen, and the unpredictable nature of his powers.

( I thought these would work. Keep everyone safe. -Why- didn't they work? )

All hail the Dishonorable Judge Slenderman, as Matt Murdock is on trial for being a failure, a loser and a general waste of space.

( How do you plead, Mister Murdock? )

Tandy Bowen faces her worst nightmare - D'Spayre, the demon that tormented her only a short time ago - or... does she?

Firefighters are supposed to rescue you, right? Renee Nguyen finds out that is not always the case.

( Your friends don't have to come. )

Madelyne Pryor is proven so very wrong, and does not land on her feet.

( You're right, we should stick together. )

Susan Storm is pulled under, and cannot save her brother.

( It's not him you want, it's me. Leave him alone, please! )

Molly Hayes is a self-rescueing Princess, and like all Princesses of Power, she does her best to help her friends when they're in trouble.

( It was just a room with no exit. But that was okay. Cause she had her fists. She could *make* a door! )

Billy and Clint find Molly and Tandy. There is licking. And not the fun kind.

( Make it go away...I don't want it to lick me again. )

Who's the best person to rescue someone trapped in the dark? The blind guy.

Sue, Topaz, and Matt help Hope break out of her cycle of anger and abuse by showing her that Slendermom has been toying with her.

( You can't have her, you can't have any of us. We're leaving! )

If you can't rely on firefighters (because they're Slendermen), it's a good thing you have friends around to find you.

The X-Force rescue team arrives, and the Slendermen meet something scarier than them - Gambit.

( Dis whole place is a big hunting blind. Camoflague for dem to disorient dey targets, split dem up, and den take dem down. 'cept when dis one ambushed Gambit, seems dat he didn't like what he found. Been trying to get away ever since. )

Amanda, Maddie, and Jubilee hold the portal. Maddie's battle plan is a a bit...batty.

( Let's go give them a HA! And a HI-YA! And a OUU-WA! And then we kick them! )

Marie-Ange and Wanda decide that they really need to be paid more for their jobs.

Wanda wreaks havoc to rescue Sue. She's very good at havoc.

( Whatever was churning inside the creature behind them, it wasn't going to be pretty when it finally got out. )

Maddie finds Billy and Clint. It's easy to tell the real Maddie - nobody else could possibly be that bossy.

( Or I can hit them with this thing - it's gotta be better than the sticks Billy conjured up. It's bigger, at least. )

Renee and Nico's powers are creepy, but still nothing compared to Remy LeBeau.

( And then that pressure was gone, and the Slenderman was scurrying hurriedly backwards on its tentacles. )

Doug tries to keep the Slendermen off of Tandy and Hope.

( He wasn't scared, or depressed, or unbearably lonely now. He was pissed. )

Topaz gets to see her mentor cut loose and kick ass, and Jubilee gets her snark on while blowing up Slendermen.

( And I for one am never eating half-cooked scrambled eggs ever again. )

Backdated to Saturday night.

Molly is having some cope failure after the Slendermen encounter and Topaz tries to make her feel better by doing magic. Hearing it go awry, and being tasked by Wade to check up on Molly anyway, Catseye investigates.

( You don't have to hide in the closet, you know. There are magic wards up all around the school to keep things like the Slendermen out. And they were done by someone who's better than me at magic so they actually work. )
