The X-Men arrive at the Fete des Mutante in France only to discover that their fears were correct and it is a target.

( We need to hurry. Everyone is just sitting ducks out there. )

Blink and Echo are the first to engage, confirming that the man at the centre of the chaos and death is, in fact, their old friend Wade, now Deadpool.

( But don't worry. Deadpool's here to take care of you and all your friends. )

Rogue and Spectrum take over for Blink and Echo, engaging Deadpool to keep him away from the fleeing festival participants.

( I won't hold back and neither will you. Let's see who passes out from blood loss first. )

Just as the X-Men engage Wade, a new player enters the combat zone.

( I always did wonder where you’d jaunted off too. )

Behold A Pale Horse - Part 2

Phoenix and Cyclops meet the Marauders head on as a three sided fight erupts.

( That's your boy's plan. Death over there? )

Bevatron and Dazzler take the next wave of Marauders, hampered by Deadpool’s continued interventions.

( Oh yeah, so much better than that fucking Canadian. )

Dust moves to support the injured Echo, but ends up on the receiving end of attacks by Greycrow, Vertigo and Deadpool.

( Foot, Deadpool shot me, )

Dazzler, Spectrum and Blink face a barrage from the Marauders and Deadpool and respond in kind.

( Give 'em the old razzle Dazzle! )

Malice and Deadpool continue to fight, and he reveals that he is not the Death they are looking for.

( You are without a doubt, the most useless waste of DNA in the world, if not the universe, )

Phoenix and Rogue move to neutralize Malice.

( But kudos for trying to get under my skin. Guess you're here to fill the quota on evil bitches in her wake, )

Dust and Cyclops finish off the last of the Marauders and start to come to some unsettling conclusions.

( You're right, it's like they weren't doing much more than distracting us with a big target and a fight that we'd respond to, that we'd have to respond to… )

The X-Men retire from the massacre, only to realize that this was not the main fight after all.

( The fight here...it's a ruse. It's not Death. )

In a besieged District X, Marie-Ange takes command on the ground, coordinating with Garrison while Illyana ferries all hands available at the mansion.

( Throw anyone close at the figure in grey armor. He's the top priority. )

Angelo and Inez find themselves escorting a mutant youth group to safety

( Ready when you are, Hoss, just say th' word. )

Rictor and Shatterstar team up together, covering the escape route for the youth group and delaying the FoH coming after them.

( What else would an X-Man do? What else would Arthur, or Haller, or Terry, or even Mr. Sydney do? )

Death enters the battle for the first time.

After Gabriel and Molly distract Death, he runs across Arthur as well as the mansion’s newest resident.

( Please listen. I just pissed off something way bigger than me, and I have to do this next part by myself. )

In search of a safe space, Liam gets drawn into action.

( Which vantage point do you want me at? )

Terry, Sam and Meggan look to help the wounded and trapped in District X

( If we can get the rioters back I can fly out with them, but I ain't leavin' 'til I know y'all have a way out. )

Sue and Madin provide a crowd of Akkaba loyalists with an astonishingly bad day.

( I come bearing orders from on high, you know I should really be Angel and not well Angel. )

Conduit and the rest of the eyes in the sky continue to direct resources around the scene.

( I have Angel as eyes in the sky, if Spot needs a break, call him in. )

Death faces Wanda, Topaz and seemingly the city itself.

( And, considering I'm pretty sure I nearly died, you little shit, I hope that hurt. )

Thanks to her powers, Hope and Artie are able to do something no one ever had: ambush Death.

( What sort of absolutely mental . . . )

Doug and Kevin support the spotting efforts, with Sydney employing his decades of experience as a sniper against their foes.

( Meet adoration to my household gods, When I am gone. He works his work, I mine. )

The eyes in the sky notice a certain feline getting into trouble.

( It's uh...? Cat. Our Cat. The Other Cat! )

Despite the momentary respite, Sharon finds herself in a dire situation, where only luck can save her.

( Come on. Let's get you somewhere quieter. )

Death’s race with Kurt turns out to be a ruse to lure him to Jubilee and Amanda.

Kyle, Kurt and April are able to bring Marius to a halt, but not to put him down, as he initiates the beginning of the end.

( Apologies, but I've no interest in monologuing. Things to do, you know. )
