Logan had been thinking about it since Sunday. He knew where Scott was, now, though, and headed down to find him. The gym was emptying of small children and he waved at Artie as the small boy ran by.

Scott was putting the mats away, and noticed Logan entering. "You do know Marie is not in the mansion?" He laughed.

Logan frowned at Scott, walking toward him. "Yes, dumbass, I know she's not here. I came t'find /you/."

Scott tilted his head to the side, sliding the last mat into place. "What's up?"

"Betsy." Logan leaned against the wall. "Y'said somethin's up with her. Been thinkin' about it. I think you're right."

Scott glanced at the door, then thought about the schedule. Betsy was in a class now, so it was okay. Not quite safe, but... "What have you noticed?"

"She smells different," Logan said bluntly. "But not all th'time."

"Smell. I hadn't thought of that," Scott said quietly. "When she's using the katana? Better yet, when does she /not/ smell different?"

"When I asked her 'bout my katana, in her office." Logan cracked his knuckles, then thought of something else. "Her dominant hand changed when she fought me."

"There is someone else in her. Another presence. I wanted to get more information before going to Charles, or Emma." Scott frowned. "Anything else?"

Logan's eyes unfocused; he was concentrating on remembering. "She's a /lot/ more confident. Better fighter. More vicious than she was." He'd trained with her before he'd left for the Middle East. There was a lot of time for her to improve, but not for her to improve /that/ much.

"I think it's something Essex did. A by-product of the surgery, or coma, or something he actually intended to do, in trying to /fix/ her." Scott tensed, as he always did when Essex was brought into it. "How dangerous is she, now? Really?"

Logan thought about it. After a long moment of silence, he met Scott's gaze. "If I didn't heal so good, I'd be dead. An' if I didn't /know/ I heal so good, she'da won."

Mouth tightening, Scott started walking toward the exit. "Now I have to stop Doug. I'd asked him to watch her, to note the differences in her body language. But I don't want him dead."
