After the chat with Amanda, Kurt goes to take Monet back her lost property. Comfort and distraction are given.
Monet grinned at Kurt, waving her missing bra. "Glad you found it."
"Amanda found it", he corrected with a wry grin. "I should really have double-checked before I put her on the couch."
"Meh. She can deal. It wasn't like we left a condom there or the lube." Monet walked across to the kitchenette and flicked the kettle on. "Tea?"
"She was more amused than anything", Kurt admitted, turning to watch her idly. "Tea would be very nice, thank you."
"Awesome." Monet reached for the cups and began fiddling with the teabags and milk. Drinks made, she handed Kurt his and leaned back against the bench, sipping hers. "You know about the state the guys are in, right?"
"I have read the reports", he said with a nod, sobering noticeably. "And been to the medlab, once, but as I am not close to any of them... it does not seem the time to be forcing my company on them."
"Yeah, no. It's all still pretty fucked up down there." Monet shivered. "I know we got them back but seriously, worst mission I've been on so far."
Noticing the shiver, he reached over to wrap an arm around her. "It is never easy when the mission involves seeing friends... changed... like that. I was there when we retrieved Jennie, Kyle and Marius."
"Yeah." She shifted slightly to lean against Kurt instead and took a long sip of tea. "Anyway. Talking about it isn't going to fix anything, so." She turned and kissed Kurt.
Though he was still concerned about her, there would be other times to make sure she was all right. For now, Kurt just kissed her back, sparing just enough attention to set down his own mug of tea without looking, then take hers from her hands for the same treatment.
Monet gave a small laugh and broke away from Kurt. "No, honey, that's my tea. Can't take it away from me, even for this." She picked up the mug, holding it in the hand that wasn't currently wrapped around Kurt's waist.
He relaxed against the back of the bench, and into her hand, with a crooked smile. "Well, in the circumstances spilling it would have been unfortunate. But I will remember, no taking the tea from Monet."
"It's not like I'd get burnt or anything." Monet paused for a moment and thought about what he'd just said. "But it might kill the mood a little for you." She drained the last of it and set the cup on the bench. "Where were we?"
Kurt, midway through finishing his own tea, drank it down and put the cup aside again. "I think, more or less, here." And he leaned in to kiss her.
"Mmm..."
