Kurt and Sam
Jan. 21st, 2009 04:27 pmThe roommates run across each other at the end of the day and talk about recent events and the ladies.
After a particularly tiring day of teaching about all Sam had in him was to make it back to the suite. He shut the door, dropped down his messengers bag, and made his way for his door. He stopped, however, when he saw Kurt. "We've been missing each other more than usual lately, haven't we?" He stopped his advance. They hadn't really had too many chances to talk with all the recent occurrences and that had just dawned on him; it made him feel a bit sad. It was also time to fix that particular problem.
Kurt had looked up from his book, curled comfortably on the couch, when he heard the door, and now he considered for a moment and nodded. "Oddly enough, yes. I suppose we have both been busy."
"Well, I know I buried myself in work even more than usual." Sam moved for a seat across from Kurt. "Everything with Jay had me down for a while. Still does sometimes." He didn't want to interrupt the reading but he didn't figure that the other man would let him if it was something urgent or if he didn't care to talk.
That got a faint smile, if not a happy one, and Kurt set the book aside. "I do not think anyone would blame you for that, even now he is back. How have you been, with it all?"
"I've been... up and down. Glad he's back, then down because he's having a hard time. Then up again because I'm kind of seeing someone. She says it isn't serious but I don't really have any way to compare." Sam laughed softly at his own inexperience. Kurt was the first person he had even mentioned it to.
"Oh?" Kurt raised his eyebrows, running through the list of possibilities in his head. "And who might that be?"
"I'm pretty sure no one would believe it anyway... but it's Morgan. We didn't exactly even really get along at first." The country boy twisted his foot against the floor for a moment. He wasn't really sure how they went from fighting to kissing when he thought about it.
That got a blink. "Well... she is certainly not the first person I would have guessed, but I am not exactly in a position to criticize, if you are happy with it."
"It's nice. She's very sweet with me. I'm a little self-conscious but I think I need to grow more out of just being a teacher and X-Man." Sam laughed just a bit at the blink he got in response.
"It is good to have more to life than what we do," Kurt agreed wholeheartedly. "I could have lived by that more, in the past... but Monet is doing her best to change that now."
"Are you two together, then?" Sam smiled to Kurt as they spoke. He was glad to hear about the man's life and recent events. Also that he had a relationship at the moment that was new to him as well.
"I... think so." It was a little uncertain, but he was smiling back. "It is much the same situation as yourself and Morgan, to be honest, but I hope it will be something more settled in future."
"We'll have to keep each other informed whenever that happens. I'll pray it works out well for both of us." Mansion relationships could be confusing or downright scary.
"Thank you." He grinned. "I will be sure to do the same. And try to keep the shared area clear, as I think we can agree on."
