A chance encounter in New York leaves Amara bright red as Morgan takes another opportunity to flirt with her in the guise of a dashing and charming latino.

A typical day on the job for Morgan had her running around in a borrowed doing errands for LeBeau and whatever else he told her to do. It wasn't anything exciting, but it was in the field and out of the office so she wouldn't complain. She had a tendency to rotate her use of her usual two bodies but Aoife got out much more frequently than Daniel did. Today, however, she'd had to meet with some guys who weren't likely to take well to a female. Daniel didn't play shady too well, he looked too honest. It made it all the easier for Morgan to lie when she needed to or to get held up so she could observe the people she was dealing with a bit more closely.

After finishing the last task assigned to for the time being Daniel headed down the street aimlessly. His body managed to hold heat better than Aoife's did, likely because Aoife was a tiny little girl and Daniel had more muscle which usually equated to a higher metabolism which then produced more body heat. Unsure what to do with the rest of the day, Daniel's eyes swept up and down the businesses lining the sidewalk until they landed on a familiar face headed toward him. Disappearing into the crowd, Daniel waited until he'd passed her before then swinging around and weaving through the crowd to come up behind Amara. "And who let you out to play all alone," he asked with a thick Venezuelan accent directly into her ear. He straightened up from having to lean over to whisper to her quickly so she didn't spin around and then smack him in the face with her head or something equally as awkward.

It was entirely possible that things would get messy and awkward when surprising Amara, especially when it was done with the face of a good-looking man. Amara was sort of on her way home after classes had finished for the day, but she'd decided to swing past a second-hand bookstore on her way back up to Westchester. She hadn't expected to see anyone she knew, and so she may have jumped a little at the voice in her ear. It took her a few seconds to recognise the face and then connect a few more dots. "I've heard I'm a big girl, I'm allowed out without a chaperon." Amara was grinning, and honestly doing a very bad job of not blushing at the same time.

Daniel had a very charming smile about him and an easy disposition. When he grinned down at her and slipped an arm casually around her shoulders it looked for all the world like he did it all the time. "Oh? So that means I cannot manage to offer myself as such, mi belleza?" The smile quickly fell into a frown complete with accompanying puppy dog eyes which came naturally for him. Morgan could never pull off such an expression properly in her own body, but in his it was entirely convincing. "There are many bad men in this city. Any one of them may want to steal such a beautiful woman for nefarious reasons. I do not feel comfortable letting you walk alone. If any harm came to you," the sentence was left unfinished so that Amara could infer for herself how terribly upset Daniel may be if she was injured. Morgan may have had a boyfriend, but that didn't mean she couldn't flirt, right?

That look was pretty irresistible, if Amara did say so herself. She laughed a little at him, still quite red about the whole thing. Ridiculously good-looking men did have that effect on her, especially when they were being charming. "Oh, well, I think I can bend the rules this time. But only if you don't mind accompanying me to the bookstore. It could get terribly boring for you." Just a friendly warning!

"And how could I ever be bored with you to gaze at?" Daniel managed cheesy lines so much better than Morgan ever could. Actually, she suspected that without another face on she'd never keep a straight one when delivering them. The arm around Amara pulled her just a little closer and then settled comfortably about her again. Before they'd looked friendly. Now she was close enough to make people think they were involved. Morgan pretended to not notice. Though, truth be told, she was all for a trip to the bookstore. She was running out of books to read and needed more of them anyway.

"Oh, well." Amara's ears were starting to burn at this point, and she ducked her head, trying to hide how red she was. This was a lot closer than Amara was used to being with a person, especially one as good looking as Daniel. And wasn't he dating Jean-Paul? And... actually someone else? It was honestly all likely to make her head hurt, and really, walking down the street with someone wasn't that big a deal anyway, what the situation was. At least she was pretty sure. "I'm sure you'd have to get bored eventually. You can't look at the same thing for too long without wanting to look at something else."

Daniel's eyes swept from Amara's eyes down to her toes very quickly and the look she received immediately after was very male. "There's much to look at before boredom becomes a problem." There was a long pause to allow those words to sink in properly. "Though I'm sure books of interest may be had so as to give you the illusion of having lost my interest if you prefer." Though with the fierce blushing going on diverting attention from Amara would have been incredibly difficult.

Oh my lord. Amara could definitely not get any more red, as much as she'd like to. Right about now she wished she had paid a little more attention to Lil, how on earth were you supposed to deal with such outrageous flattery? "Oh well, just as long as you're planning on listening to me as well," she said, trying to summon up some sort of dignity from who knows where. "And I'm sure there are plenty of books out there that are more interesting than me."

It took a great deal of effort to keep the self-satisfied smirk off of Daniel's face. Morgan just barely managed it but when the blush was noticed for too long that control started to slip and the expression edged its way onto Daniel's features. "I very much doubt there are many things as interesting as you, mi belleza. I would even wager on it, but it is not a wager one can win or lose with any sort of proof." Amara was given the charming smile she'd gotten early on in the ambush. "I promise to listen to you always. What kind of gentleman would I be if I ignored the things a beautiful woman said?"

"Well, no kind of gentleman at all," she said with a little bit of a laugh, leaning in against Daniel as a rather large group of kids hogged the footpath for a little bit. Her arm very tentatively came up to rest against his back while they negotiated the suddenly crowded footpath. "But you know, both your claim of there not being many things more interesting than me or that you'll always listen to me requires a lot of time to prove. I'm not sure you should be making claims like that."

There was no more suppressing the grin when the crowd of kids forced Amara into Daniel's side. The arm around her curled in tighter, almost protectively. After all, if Amara got jostled wrong and tripped that would be awfully negligent on Morgan's part. For a moment she considered if Sam would have an issue with her playfully flirting with the girl, but since she wasn't going to do anything she didn't see why he would.

A very playful frown was shot down at Amara. "I see." Daniel sighed. "I understand. You have more interesting people to spend your time with than myself. I should have known." Way to play the martyr, Daniel, Morgan thought with an inner smirk that she managed to keep off his face.

Amara laughed again, shaking her head as the kids passed. She didn't drop her arm just yet, though she did move a little further away from Daniel now they had more sidewalk to themselves. "See, now you're just twisting my words." She still had a smile on her face, so she was obviously not upset by the occasion. "I'm not entirely sure that you have the time to be spending with poor old me."

There was a small frown on Daniel's face from her moving away a bit, but his arm didn't extend out too much farther so she was still fairly close. "I am fortunate enough to not be so important as to be unable to make time for those I deem worthy of such attention." Daniel steered the pair of them away from someone talking to themselves in the way potentially harmless crazy people did, but also in the way potentially harmful homeless addicts did.

Amara chuckled at that, steering them back into the line of shops and to the set of stairs that led down into the bookstore she'd been aiming for. It wasn't quite wide enough for two people, so Amara had to duck out from under Daniel's arm so she could head down the stairs. "Well, we'll just have to see how that works out, won't we?" She said with a grin, half turning as she walked down the stairs so she could continue to talk to him.

Morgan was making a mental note to not take the flirtation too far. It was too easy with Daniel. He was attractive and latino. He got all Vanessa's manners and charm that wasn't sexually based. It was, in a lot of ways, all the most feminine aspects of her actual personality. They were all things women loved in a man, generally speaking. It made it easy for him to charm women and reactions were what she lived for. Si, "I'll have to dedicate myself to the necessary toil. It is not so big a sacrifice."
