Cammie & Catseye: Easter Egg Chase
Mar. 23rd, 2009 01:20 pmAn Easter Egg came between Cammie and Cats becomes so much more.
It was the time of year for foil-wrapped chocolate eggs. Catseye was extremely fond of them. Not to eat, but because they were a good weight and shape for chasing. Someone had dropped one in the rec room, and the purple cat had found it under one of the couches, and was now amusing herself batting it all around the mansion, thoroughly enjoying the sound it made on the floors and the way the foil shone and reflected in the sunlight. She batted it down the hallway and skittered after it, but before she could reach it Cammie came around a corner and the egg bounced off her shoe and veered off course. Catseye was not so quick, however, and collided with the green-haired girl's feet.
Cammie sighed, but it was more amused than anything as she picked up the cat and redirected her in the direction she had been coming from. “What’cha chasing?” she asked, looking around and seeing the egg on the floor. She picked it up and tossed it once, catching it in her hand. Chocolate didn’t have any appeal for her whatsoever. “Getting into the candy?”
Catseye gave Cammie's cheek a lick when she was picked up and stared at the egg as Cammie tossed it. Her eyes watched it like the predator she was, drawn to the shinyness of it. Her tail flicked in concentration as she stared at the egg, expecting Cammie to throw it.
Cammie looked down at the egg and down at the cat that spent a lot of time sleeping on Cammie’s chest. She moved the egg between her fingers with the speed and dexterity of a practiced pick pocket and for a moment it looked like it vanished and then it was rolling down the floor away from cats.
“Go get it!” she said happily. “It wants you to chase it.”
The cat took off in a purple flash, pouncing on the egg and catching it between her paws. She put it between her teeth and brought it back to Cammie, tail twitching expectantly as she spit it out at Cammie's feet, mewing expectantly. She wanted to see the trick again.
“And here I thought only dogs fetched,” she said, picking it up and showing it to Cats in her open palm. A lot of the simple slight of hand stuff could be learned pick pocketing and Cammie had plenty of experience at that. “Now you see it…” she closed her hand and made some quick motions and opened it back up, the egg was gone. “Now you don’t,” she held up her other hand, “Or do you? Should I throw it again?”
Shifting to girlform, Catseye grabbed Cammie's hand and held it up close to her face so she could inspect it, using her nose as well as her eyes and hands to try and figure out what Cammie had done. "It is a SillyTrick! BlackBloodGirl played a SillyTrick! Catseye wants to now how to do it!" she demanded, eyes wide with excitement.
Cammie smiled, “Okay. I guess I can show you. I’m not like a stage magician or anything,” so there weren’t any dumb rules about not explaining how things were done. “This one’s really easy. It’s all about how you move your hands,” she said, showing Catseye the egg.
“And getting you to look where I want you to,” this had all been learned on the street. She showed Cats, step by step how to make it look like the egg vanished and reappeared. “See? It’s pretty easy.”
Giggling, Catseye took the egg from Cammie, unwrapped the foil, and popped it into her mouth. "Catseye can make it disappear too!"
Cammie paused for a moment then laughed once, “Yeah, that works too. I think it’s cheating though. No one’s going to want the egg when it reappears.”
The catgirl continued to giggle, then balled up the foil and threw it across the floor. "Catseye will get it later," she explained, intending to add it to one of her secret stashes of shiny things. "But now Catseye needs another egg to play with. Does BlackBloodGirl know where there are more shinyeggs?"
“I normally don’t eat the candy, but I bet you can find more eggs of shiny in the kitchen or something,” Cammie mused. “I mean, that’s where I’d keep them. If I were a person who ate candy.”
"If Catseye had shinyeggs Catseye would keep them in a SecretSafePlace!" the catgirl countered. "Can Catseye have her own shinyeggs?" she asked after thinking about it for a moment. "Can BlackBloodGirl drive to town with Catseye and get some?"
Cammie didn’t have a license but that had never stopped her, “Sure. Let’s go find a car and get some,” she said with a shrug. Even if she didn’t have the keys she could take a car.
"Yes! Carride! Catseye loves carrides!" she exclaimed excitedly, bouncing out to the garage and leaving Cammie to follow after her. "Does BlackBloodGirl have a car?" she asked when she reached the garage, going from car to car and sniffing. "None of these cars smells like BlackBloodGirl..."
“None of them are… do you think anyone would mind if we borrowed their’s for a ride into town? We’ll even get gas,” Cammie said. She didn’t have to steal that. “So pick one that belongs to a friend of yours. If you want you can ask them first,” she added as an after thought.
Catseye thought this over. "OneEye's car? Because if he needs to go somewhere he still has his loudbicycle?"
“Show me witch one it is, and we’ll get going,” Cammie said. She was grinning ear to ear. Here she had worried she was going to get really rusty here.
