Julian and Lil meet in the kitchen and discuss bikes, cars, and prom.

Flicking her finished cigarette into a nearby pail, the mansion's resident giantess made her way off the smoker's porch and into the kitchen in search of a snack. Lil was thankful for the peace that seemed to have been surrounding her days since the trip out of the country, but knew better than to expect it to last much longer. The calm before the storm tended to make her a little antsy. And very hungry. Tossing her carton and lighter onto the counter, the Canadienne opened the fridge and began to rummage through the contents.

Sweating, Julian caught his breath on the back porch before coming inside. The run around the lake was part of his new summer routine- but it was by no means his favorite part of it. Unfortunately, despite the fact it felt wonderful outside, it was still too cold here to go swimming. The faint scent of cigarettes wafted on the otherwise dewy morning air, causing Jules to wonder if perhaps Fred was raiding the fridge.

Instead of one giant, Julian found himself looking at Lil's backside as she dug through the back of the fridge. "Hey, could you toss me a Gatorade?" he asked after taking a moment to admire the sight.

"Huh?" The blonde head dropped, peaking under her arm to see behind her in search of the owner of the voice. "Heya. Sure. What color?" Lil asked Julian, giving him a little smile before going back to collecting her makings for a sandwich or two. "Red, blue, yellow..."

"I'll take red, or pink is fine too," Julian said, taking a seat at the elevated island in the middle of the room. "Haven't seen you since Murderworld, Misses...er...Lil. How've you been?" He took the bottle from her and popped the cap quickly, taking a drink and dabbing the perspiration off his forehead again with his acid green towel.

Even with him sitting on the counter, Lil was still a few inches taller than him when she straightened up, arms full of lunch meats and other fixings. "Not bad. Training, working at Harry's. Taking care of Mist," she said with a casual, one-shouldered shrug as she placed the stuff next to him and reached for the bread. "How about you? Ready for summer break or you one of those kids whose gonna be freaking out over Prom and finals first?"

Julian chuckled, "Kellers don't freak out." He took another drink and shrugged, "Except in the presence of giant, murderous dragonflies." The towel draped over his shoulders, his posture adjusted to slump forward a little, "Yeah, I'm ready for summer, even though it sounds like I'll be around here for most of it." 'Mom and Dad don't want me there,' he thought to himself. Changing the subject, "Who's Mist? Did we get someone new around here?"

Lil's Cheshire smirk grew as she regarded the boy while swiping mayo on a slice of bread. "Ain't a dragon fly but 'giant' and 'murderous' I got covered," she chuckled. "Seem likes lots of us are gonna be around here, so you'll be in good company at least." Lil wasn't sure when she was going to be called back home for Alpha or if she'd even make it which left her with no where else to go but the mansion. "Mist is my motorcycle. Wanda named it after some Valkyrie in a poem or something."

"Ah, got ya." Julian took another drink and gave Lil a smile, "I don't imagine it's a Kawasaki...you seem more like the Harley type, am I right?" He knew little about bikes, but it was enough to be conversational. His little brother's favorite show had been American Chopper for a while, before things had changed.

"You are indeed," she confirmed, stacking turkey and cheese alternately. "Softail Custom. She's out in the garage but I gotta warn you, you even look at her funny and you're gonna be eating your towel, got it?" The flicker of amusement in her eyes gave some lightness to her words, but no enough to ensure the giantess was completely joking.

A chuckle was his only response. "Don't worry, I'm not much of a biker." He nodded toward the sandwich, suddenly conscious of his own hunger. "Does that have a name too?"

One golden brow arched. "This? No. Never name your food because then it makes it harder to eat," Lil advised. "Went to dinner with my dad once when I was about your age; wanted to order lobster and he started naming all the ones in the tank so I'd pick something else."

"Whaaa? Named lobster is the best kind. I had this one named Franklin once...delicious." His smile gave the lie away, but it was really half-hearted anyway. Julian winked and finished the twelve ounce bottle with a quick gulp.

"Haha," Lil returned dryly and tossed a piece of lettuce at him. "Aren't you just a fucking riot." She finished making her sandwich but left the markings on the counter in case he felt like making himself something. "Didn't anyone ever teach you not to poke fun at someone who could smoosh you like a bug?"

Picking up the piece of lettuce, Julian got up and moved around to make himself a sandwich. "You might find that harder than you think, teeks have shields too you know." He spread a bit of light mayo on a piece of bread and put the lettuce on that. Then bedded a piece of American cheese between two pieces of meat. "Of course, you could sick Inez on me, she might be able to get the job done."

"You do realize I am Inez five years older and six inches taller, yes?" Lil asked him after taking a large bite. She turned to lean against the counter, watching him carefully. "With my own anger management and man problems to boot," she added with another dangerous little smile. "Don't like the hit the students too much though so you're probably safe. For now."

With another chuckle, Julian topped off the sandwich and gave Lil a nod. "Okay, sure. I'll watch my back." He took a bite and set down the sandwich before heading over to the fridge and getting another Gatorade. "How long have you had Mist?"

"Coupla weeks though I've been working on getting one for a coupla years." It had been a matter of finding a way of keeping Madison from tinkering with it as well as the cash for such a thing. "With being here and work and all, figured it was time to finally get her. Having a friend with connections helps, too."

"Yes, I suppose that helps," he popped the top off the drink and took a sip to wash down the bite of sandwich. The clutter on the counter remained for a moment longer before Julian began to clean it up. "I've been thinking of buying a car...so I don't have to keep checking one out."

Lil gave a wave of her hand to stop him. "Leave it. I'm gonna want another after I'm finished," she said then frowned at her finger before licking the mustard that clung to it off. "I sold my car before I came down here. Old Dodge Charger; fulla dents but she had character. Needed the money and the break though. But completely agree on needing the wheels and not wanting to use the school's."

"I'm not saying the school's cars aren't nice," he left everything where it was and took another bite of his sandwich. Chewing quickly, he swallowed, "But I'm used to something a little flashier than a black sedan. I'm still trying to figure out what to get, but I'm thinking Astin Martin, maybe?"

The Canadienne couldn't help put snort at that. Coming from a strictly working, blue collar background, someone Julian's age talking about picking out an Astin Martin like they would a new hair cut made her cringe. "Good luck with that, James Bond. One wrong word to the wrong girl and that thing's gonna be covered in key scratches," Lil warned him, chewing on her sandwich. "Or wrong guy. Some ain't any better than us with tits when it comes to revenge."

Julian paused, mid-chew, and gave Lil a puzzled look. He swallowed, "You know the garage has cameras in it, right?" Trying to figure out who she was talking about, "Who do you mean, by the way? I thought Inez and I were good again."

"I don't mean any one specifically," the blonde returned with a roll of her eyes. Was he really that paranoid about it happening? "Just the 'flashier' the car, the more satisfaction that comes from carving it up in revenge with your keys." Or nails, if they happened to be diamond-hard. Fortunately for Madison, he'd never had wheels worth anything while they were dating. "Just a warning that the pretty things make for better targets so you should think twice about the Astin Martin if you're expecting any girl trouble is all." Another one-shouldered shrug and Lil popped the rest of her sandwich into her mouth before starting to make a second.

"I usually don't have any girl trouble," Julian chuckled and took another sip. "For some reason, that didn't start until I got here...well, until I told everyone I'm a mutant I guess. And yeah, my Firebird did get a little banged up after that. The local Eff Oh Eych Junior chapter even gave it a new paint job, so I kind of get what you mean."

"Pretty targets," Lil repeated, stacking the meat and cheese again, this time with extra in hopes of not needing to make a third sandwich. "Just something to think about. Not trying to talk you outta the car, just see all sides to your plan. Speaking of plans," she said, turning her attention from her food. "What's the deal with prom. Theme, color, shit like that?"

"Heh, I have no idea. Probably should figure out who's on the planning committee around here." He finished his sandwich and washed it down with the last of his drink. "All I know is I'm taking Angel...though it's going to be hard to top our first date."

"Damn," she muttered as she went back to making her sandwich. "Oh well. I'll just have to ask Jean-Paul what he knows so I can go get a dress." The topic of first date made her curious again, however. "Yeah? You do something good for that?"

He gave her a cocky smile and nod, "Chartered a private jet to circle us around New York City and had a chef fix a four course meal on-board. Oh, and a limo to and from the airport."

Lil let out a long, slow whistle. "Shit," she chuckled, obviously impressed. "All I got from the guy I eventually married on our first date was a walk through a park and a book about a prostitute. You gotta older brother or equally wealthy older cousin or something?"

A shrug, "A younger brother, you'd really be robbing the cradle with him. Otherwise we don't really talk to any of the extended family since dad made it big." The only uncle he knew about was Uncle Bill and they hadn't seen him since Julian had been ten.

"There goes that plan," the Canadienne lamented with a dramatic sigh. "I ain't got a thing for younger guys, not even if they can get me diamonds by the boatload. Guess I'll just have to make do with what's around here for another coupla months." Lil shot a wink at Julian then bit into her sandwich. "Can see how you'd might have problems with Prom though after that."

"Wanted to make a good first impression and usually it doesn't matter because we're just hanging out here or going for coffee...but I wanted to make prom special." Julian downed the rest of his drink and set the empty on the counter with an 'Ahh.' "Feels like I kind of shot myself in the foot."

"Afraid I can't offer any advice." Lil frowned at the student before further explaining, "Never been to Prom before. Hell, I don't even know where it is or what's going on beyond that fact I'm making Jean-Paul take me since he's chaperoning. My only knowledge comes from tv and movies: spike the punch, get laid and watch out for buckets of pig's blood."

"Pigs blood? What the hell is prom like in Canada?" Julian furrowed and unfurrowed his brow.

"Oh for fuck's sake. I just told you - movies, tv. Haven't you ever seen Carrie?" Lil asked, scoffing.

"No? Look, I've only been to prom once and that's because my girlfriend back home was a year older than me." Julian grinned, "I have a feeling prom here is a little different than what we did back out West."

Maybe it was better to keep the Teek away from Carrie the more she thought of it. "You're one Prom aheada me," Lil replied, half of the second sandwich gone already. "Flowers, dress, dancing and pictures. Honestly don't know what you can do unless you take her shopping for jewelry or something."

"Well now, that's an idea. Though I usually have pretty good gift giving skills on my own. Maybe a diamond the size of her fist?" Julian winked, indicating he was kidding.

"If it's for prom, you'll want her along. Cut of the neckline, color of the dress, how she's doing her hair, all important when picking your accessories." Who said she couldn't be a girl when she needed to be? Lil smirked, picking a piece of turkey off her plate. "And I should get a diamond or two for helping."

Julian took the plate he'd used over to the sink and rinsed it off before sticking it in the dishwasher. "I'll keep your commission in mind when we get to Tiffany's. I thought you'd never been to prom before, sounds like you've had lots of experience."

"Never," Lil confirmed, her smile growing dangerous once more as she fixed him with an impish sparkle in her eyes. "But I have gotten married."

"Oh, duh, I knew that," the connection made some sense. "Thanks for the company, I should probably go get a shower in though- if I have any questions, about cars or prom or anything...mind if I ask you?"

"Ain't promising I got the answers but I can try," Lil offered, still working on her meal. Maybe another smoke and then a swim to work up the appetite again was in order before heading off to work.
