Fire makes the best distraction.

Jan zipped outside, hurrying to find Amara and Logan. "OK, you guys, distraction time! Any ideas? All flamey Caldera? Set something on fire? Just not me. Or Wolverine. Although that would be one hell of a distraction, running around yelling hairy guy with claws on fire? No one could ignore that. Not that I'm suggesting we really do that. Um, I'll be over here where I can't be set on fire or turned into a shish-ka-bob."

Amara couldn't help but laugh a little at the image of Logan on fire - not that she'd ever do it, but it was still a little funny. "I can start a fire, not a problem. Just a small one? To get their attention?" She glanced down at her hands, concentrating hard on focusing her energy so just her hands lit up so she could light up some of the nearby brush.

Logan didn't bother to crack a smile at the suggestion that he be set on fire as a distraction. "Here's a thought. You want a distraction? Volcanoes are pretty distracting. 'Specially when one shows up under your motor pool. Think you can hack that, kid?" he asked Caldera. "Or if that's too much, light up a few trees along the perimeter."

"... it's probably best if I don't try that." They didn't want to cause that much damage, did they? "But burning trees, not a problem." Moving a few steps closer to them, she sent out a few bursts of flame towards the tops of the trees, where there was more foliage to burn. It eventually started to burn quite merrily, and it didn't take long at all for the guards to start shouting about it.

Jan hovered off to the side. Her part in this would come later; while she was well-suited for stealth, sneaking into places and sneaking zaps on people who wouldn't see a tiny girl with wings coming their way, she was not well-suited for creating giant dramatic distraction displays. Watching Caldera at work was cool, though, even if Jan did feel sorry for the damaged trees and hoped the fire wouldn't spread too much.

Logan watched the trees burn and kept his eyes - and his nose - on the soldiers who were investigating. "May want to give 'em a little more, kid." he said to Amara. "Some of this batch is gettin' a little too curious."

"Not a problem." She turned to some of the trees that weren't burning, some that were a little closer to where the guards were milling around, not quite sure what to do. A few more trees on fire seemed to catch their attention more thoroughly, finally moving away from their posts entirely to investigate the fire - and who or what had started it.

"Distraction's in place." he radioed in to the other team-members. Then he looked over to Caldera. "Keep 'em on a merry chase, kid, but don't burn the Amazon down." he joked. "Be a bit tough to explain." he said deadpan, swatting at a bug absently.
