Just another work day... Jubilee gets bored and asks Amanda about her recent powers issues.

"So, little birdies have been telling me you've taken to random overseas trips," Jubilee noted as she flopped bonelessly into the chair beside Amanda's desk.

It was only after she'd settled herself that she realised the other woman was on the phone, and quickly shut up to let her finish up. While Jubilee was not what one would call the quiet type by any stretch of the imagination she'd been learning over the last year to at least sometimes be the polite, or as was more often the case, the smart type. Work was work, and chatting someone's ear off while they were talking to a client or possible contact was just stupid.

Without missing a beat, Amanda reached for a post-it, scrawled "ON PHONE" on it and stuck it on her own forehead, all the while continuing her conversation. "..Okay, yeah, I'll email you the specs and you let me know. Ta, mate." Amanda hung up and peeled off the post-it before glancing over at Jubilee, an eyebrow raised. "Don't tell me, you want something shiny from wherever I end up next, don't you?"

"Maybe," Jubilee said, an entirely innocent expression settling on her features before she shrugged it off and went back to her usual slightly tired, slightly distracted look. "Maybe I just wanted to know why you're suddenly jetting all over the place. Couldn't have anything to do with our currently missing slightly scruffy looking Cajun could it? Although, don't let the whole question thing stop you from bringing me the shiny, I figure they're not mutually exclusive or anything."

"I wouldn't say I was exactly 'jetting', Jubes. It's a powers glitch, that's all. More of the same as April Fool's Day." Amanda shruged, although there was a slight closing off of her features at the mention of Remy that Jubilee couldn't fail to recognise from their shared past. 'Touchy subject, approach with caution'. "'S not like I have any control of where I wind up, so even if I was being all unprofessional and looking for Remy on my own, 's not exactly the best way to go about it, hitting cities at random."

"You've been twitchy for awhile now," Jubilee mentioned, in the same tone as someone might mention the weather. Remy disappearing so suddenly had really only increased the other woman's tenseness, as far as Jubilee could tell. She was getting better at the whole 'noticing other people's feelings', even if she still found it hard to relate. "Like, awesomely mega twitchy with a side of twitch."

Amanda opened her mouth to deny it, then snapped it shut again. If Jubilee was noticing, then she wasn't hiding it half as well as she'd thought. "Maybe I'm a bit worried," she allowed. "'Bout him. And Pete. But I don't see how that ties in with the powers thing."

"Well, how does the whole teleporting thing work?" Jubilee asked, figuring starting at the beginning was going to get them further then random speculation. "And Remy's not dead by the by, I doubt his guild friends would stick around teaching me if he'd shuffled off the mortal whatsit. Know that's not a lot of comfort, considering, but it's like, something."

"Emma already told me he's not dead. And I've got my own resources. But being dead isn't the worst you can be, you know." Amanda snapped the words, then bit her lip. "Sorry. Like you said, twitchy. The 'porting... I dunno. I just kind of sync in with the city without really noticing, and the next thing I know, I'm somewhere else."

"S'okay, I've had worse bites, yeah? So, maybe it's something to do with the whole not noticing thing?" Jubilee replied, shrugging off the harshness with little reaction. It'd always taken more then mere harsh words to phase her. "Like, subconscious desire stuff, or whatever it is Sofia keeps goin' on about."

"Well, that time back in April, I was dreaming 'bout being back in London," Amanda replied slowly. She hadn't really thought about it - she'd been too busy trying to work out where she was going to wind up. "I've been awake for these latest times, tho'."

"Anything the same each time?" Jubilee asked, body language subconsciously changing as she spoke, her voice taking on a slightly thoughtful edge, and her posture straightening as she pushed herself into a more normal semblance of professionalism then the boneless slouch had achieved.

"Not really. I've been working when it happens, but that's 'cause all I've been doing lately is working." Amanda considered things. "Oh, bollocks. You don't think it's some kind of subconscious whiny thing about going to look for Pete and Remy, do you?"

Jubilee snorted, and then shook her head, "Yes, you're being totally whiny and emo, you gigantic wuss, you. Is there anyone in the world who means more to you then those two? Like, even Angelo? Seriously dude, you're worried, we're hardly going to hang, draw and like quarter you over it. Question is, if it is that, what do you want to do about it? Can you even do anything about it?"

Amanda blinked at her. Well, it was a typically Jubilee reaction, but she'd forgotten how well the other girl actually knew her sometimes. "I... don't know," she began, turning it over. "I mean, I can go talk to Sof a bit more, see if I can't sortthings emotionally and hope that shows with the powers stuff. Maybe email Pete and see when he's coming home. Or, you know, we could hear from Remy and then I don't have anything to get upset about." She cracked a small smile at Jubilee. "Ta, mate. I should so just smack you one, you know."

"Well, there is the danger gym, if you felt the need to take out your violent tendencies," Jubilee noted with a large grin. "Otherwise, talking to Sofia is double plus good, as is e-mailing Pete. Remy'll turn back up, probably with a thousand and one things he needs us to do, all of which require you to use weird names and me to end up in some sort of hell hole talking to a guy named Sven."

Amanda picked up her post-it notes and wrote "POW" on one and stuck it on Jubilee's forehead. "There. Consider yourself smacked. And I'm happy to spend the rest of the year locked in a file room if it means Remy was back to tell me to do it. But I s'pose I'll just have to wait." Amanda sighed just a little. She hated waiting. "Speaking of work, I should get back to it. Hopefully without any sudden need to disappear."

Jubilee stuck her tongue out at her colleague and pulled the post-it from her forehead, folded it and tucked it in a pocket. "I suppose that's my signal to go and do the next delivery then. You gonna be at Finnegan's later?"

"Probably. I'll see you there later."
