Blink and Wasp find their way into the room where Shahraj is being held hostage.
Teleporting into a back maids closet, Clarice waited while Jan went to scout about. They had a very narrow window of opportunity here and the more intel she could get, the better. "Anything yet?" Clarice whispered over the comm connection.
"No, not yet," came Jan's reply over the comm. "There doesn't seem to be a lot of people here. I'm not sure if that's good or bad. I guess no one would figure two women be able to get in here secretly and then check out the area without being noticed."
"Then they don't know us very well," she replied, then went quiet again, waiting for the info she needed, namely, where to teleport and what she would be facing when she did. She didn't need that info, but it would enhance their chances of success if they could get it. And if not...they would continue the mission anyways.
The suite that they had tentatively identified Shahraj as being in was at the end of the hall, fronted by double doors with an armed man standing in front, his AK-47 slung across his chest. The hallway was largely open, meaning that even a tiny bug wouldn't be missed. However, fortunately for them, the Wallflower had been rebuilt in the 80s with a modern HVAC for the time, including relatively large, inviting and open duct work. It was too small for a person, but for a miniature one...
Jan surveyed the scene in front of her, staying close to the ceiling so she wouldn't be in anyone's line of sight. These guys didn't look too friendly, and she didn't feel like being swatted with a big giant gun. "Yep, I'm Parker," Jan said out loud, more to herself than to Clarice. "Except I don't have to be all squished in and uncomfortable in air ducts and other tiny spaces. "Now, boys, are you guarding a pretty present for me?" The comm went silent as the tiny winged girl flew through the space, which was large and roomy for anyone who was only one-inch tall. "Yep, he's in here," Jan confirmed, peering into the hotel room from her hiding spot in the duct.
"Okay," Clarice acknowledged. "Incoming in 3, 2, 1..." she trailed off and teleported into the room, surprising everyone inside. Hopefully, Jan was big now and taking care of the guys outside.
Shahraj had been sitting quietly, with his two guards looking speculatively at their phones, trying to determine whether or not the sudden loss of power was part of an attack. The purple glow made them hestitate, and the Sikh politician barely had time to say a thing before disappearing via one of Clarice's portals.
The two terrorists tried to push past the shook, bringing up their automatic weapons.
"Naughty boys," Jan scolded the men pointing their guns at Clarice, suddenly appearing behind them with her hands already at their necks. Electricity flowed out from her fingertips, and the men were down. "Thanks for the distraction," Jan said, beaming at Clarice. "I think the guy we just rescued is going to need a lot of therapy now, though. But hey, he's alive. He'll get over the shock."
"Therapy's cheaper than death!" Clarice quipped, picking the locks of the handcuffs quickly and getting him up. "Ready to go?" she asked, "Or did you want to see what happens when they wake up?" Not waiting for an answer she teleported the three of them away.
