Running into each other passing the Danger Room, Catseye asks Ororo about the X-Men and whether she can become a trainee.

Senses sharp after her practice, she managed to stop short when she realized that she was about to run into someone while her thoughts had been preoccupying her. "Oh! Hello Miss Munroe," she smiled when she focused herself back on the present and found she was about a step away from running over the other woman.

Ororo hadn't expected to be run over in the hallways, though she told herself she would've reacted quickly enough to avoid it even if the younger woman hadn't pulled up short. "Hello, Catseye," she said with an answering smile. She had just come from observing the purple-haired girl in the Danger Room; this wasn't a requirement but rather something she liked to do when she had the time. It helped her keep an eye on the students and their progress. "You had a very good session today."

"Thank you!" the catgirl answered, preening a little with her hair. "I am practicing lots and working extra hard because I want to be an X-Man!"

"Do you?" Ororo felt as if she had had this conversation a dozen times in the past year - there seemed to be no end to young people and students who watched the team put on leather and launch themselves into hazardous situations and then decide that they wanted to do exactly the same thing. She supposed that meant they were doing something right... hopefully. "Training hard is certainly a good start, then."

Catseye nodded and twitched her tail in interest. "What else do I have to do to be an X-Man? Training hard, being smart in school, being nice to people... are there more things I can do to learn how to be a good X-Man?"

"Well, there are a great many things you must learn if you want to be an X-Man. There are missions to study, routines to learn, tests to pass... it is a great deal of work. But it is also very rewarding," the silver-haired woman replied. "And those of us who are X-Men are still learning as well. It is a never-ending task."

"Studying and learning you mean like reading?" Catseye inquired, tail lashing in excitement. "I like reading! Can I read the missions?"

"I suppose so," Ororo seemed pleasantly amused by the young woman's enthusiasm. "That is, if you would like to become a trainee. Do you think you are ready for that, Catseye?"

The catgirl frowned in thought. "I think I have wanted to be an X-Man for a long time now," she admitted, head tilted as she considered the question. "And I think I have learned manymany things since I first thought I wanted to be an X-Man, especially things about being on a team and about being a human." She thought for a few more moments, then nodded her head. "Yes I think I am ready to be a trainee. Can I be one?" she asked hopefully.

"Well, it is not just up to me," Ororo said, though her tone was encouraging. "We will need to make sure you are able, and that you are allowed to by your guardian. But yes, if that all goes well... you would be very welcome as a trainee."

Catseye's face lit up with a grin. "I am twenty so my guardian is me so my guardian says yes I am allowed!" she giggled, and leapt at Ororo to give her a hug. "Thank you thank you! I will read lots today and do everything else veryfast to make sure I am able and I will be a very good trainee I promise!"
