Catseye claims her night with Jay but finds his bed occupied.

The purple cat paused on Jay's windowsill before opening it with her tail. She sniffed the bottom of the sill. Jay was not alone. She could smell Warren's scent in Jay's room. She sat on the sill, contemplating. She and Jay had a standing date to nap together one night a week, and this was their night! Had Jay forgotten? Did he not know that Catseye could not go into someone's room when they were doing sex with someone? She had promised Forge, Jay, and half the other people at the mansion!

But it didn't smell like they were doing sex. Maybe they were just talking? Catseye couldn't hear anything though. She opened the window. They appeared to be sleeping. After a moment of wrestling with her conscience, Catseye decided to risk it. The worst that could happen would be Jay's anger at her having come in when she wasn't supposed to. But she could always say that it was their night to nap together and that was The Way Things Were and that he wasn't doing sex anyway so why couldn't she nap with them?

She jumped down onto the bed, between Jay and Warren, trying to land as heavily as possible so that her movement would wake one or both of them up.

Jay stirred in bed, shifting. He was outstretched on his side, facing Warren, although half of his body rested back, as though he had tried to roll on his back and been unsuccessful about it. Between Warren and Catseye, his sleeping habits had deepened, the comfort of having a body of some shape or form settling Jay into dreamless sleeps. Occasionally he had nightmares but tonight wasn't one of those nights. The brush of fur stirred him again and he pushed Warren away as though it was the wings that were causing that and not Catseye.

Having a cat join him in bed - and being pushed away by his bed partner - was not something Warren was entirely used to. So the combination of the two had him waking up properly, his wings fluttering ever so slightly.

"Hey Cats," he said with a sleepy smile, reaching up to scratch her behind the ears.

The cat shifted into girlform, stretched out between the two men. "Hi Jay, hi Warren. Can I nap with you or are you going to do sex?"

Jay's eyes snapped open. "Cats -- what? No. That's just wrong," he groaned, lifting his body up and dropped down face first into his pillow.

Warren just burst out laughing at that, shifting so there was a little more for her. "I don't mind if you stay, if it's alright with Jay. I think I can keep my hands off him for a little while."

Jay lifted his head and then lazily propped himself up. "It's our night, ain't it?" he asked in a groggy tone to Cats.

"Yesyes," she confirmed, snuggling in under the blankets, "it is our night. I did not sneak in and invade your privacy because it is our night. But Warren can nap with us too it is okay Warren," she assured the other man.

"Thanks, Cats," he replied, sounding a little bemused and shooting a grin at Jay over Cats' shoulder. This had not really been how he'd expected the night to turn out.

Neither of them expected this and Jay shrugged, dropping back down on the bed. "Sorry War, she's right. It's her night n' Ah forgot."

"Why are you sorry to Warren? Do you not want me to stay?" Catseye asked, sounding hurt. "I thought I kept the nightmares away?"

"You do, you do,'" he assured her hastily. "Maybe War's not use to two people in bed with him." He looked over Catseye to Warren.

Warren was pretty sure there was no right way to respond to that second comment, so he focused on the part he considered more important - the nightmares. "It's fine, I really don't mind," he said absently, then focused in on Jay. "What nightmares?"

"They ain't nuttin'," he assured Warren but then ducked his head down into the pillow, mumbling to Catseye. "Thanks." Why did she have to tell Warren about the nightmares?

"He is right they are not nothing," Catseye informed Warren, not catching the intended meaning of Jay's speech. She turned to Warren, reaching out to pet one of his pretty feathery wings. "Sometimes he has nightmares where he is hurting people. Does Warren not know about them because he has not slept over before, or because Jay does not have the nightmares when Warren is here?" She couldn't tell by the scents in the room how often Warren had shared Jay's bed.

"Cats!" Jay threw off the covers and rolled up off the bed, wanting her to stop talking about the nightmares. "Jesus christ," he snapped and headed for the washroom, slamming the door.

"What?!" Catseye followed him to the door but it was slammed in her face. "What did I do wrong? I do not understand why you are angry!"

Warren slipped out of bed after them, finding some underwear to slide on before he moved over as well.

"You didn't do anything wrong," he said reassuringly to Catseye, glancing over at the door after he spoke. "I think you just told me a little earlier than Jay was planning to." Or at least, he hoped Jay had been planning to. He rapped on the door, leaning against the doorway and smiling slightly over to Cats.

"I do not know why you did not tell Warren you were having nightmares Jay!" Catseye shouted through the door, pouting.

Jay threw open the door, clad in nothing but was pulling his jeans on. "Cause there's somethings people don't need to know about!" Jay yelled back. He pushed through the two of them, his wings shifting out as he went to the window, thrusting it open.

"Jay," Warren said sharply, pushing away from the door frame. "Don't leave." Warren didn't make a move to cross the room to him, simply just looking at him from where he was. "It is something I should have known about, considering that we're sleeping together. Don't get mad at Catseye because she was honest with me about them."

"Jay, there are somethings that your veryspecialfriends should know and Warren is your veryspecialfriend because you do sex together! Doing sex means you love someone so that means Warren loves you that is why he should know! But I am sorry you wanted it to be a secret and that I told," she mumbled, almost as an afterthought.

She wouldn't stop talking, wouldn't stop pressing the issue and boiled over in him, feeling his control slipping. Jay spun around and raked his fingers through the air towards him as he screamed at her. "JUST SHUT UP!" His keen cut through his words, drowning them out as his wings swept back and he drew himself up, nostrils flaring.

"Jay," Warren said again, this time a little quieter. "It's okay. Cats has apologised for telling me. We don't have to talk about this until you're ready to talk about it."

His lips parted, chest rising and falling heavily as a long moment passed before his shoulders dropped and he shook his head, trying to shake off the tremble of anger he felt "Okay.."

"Jay why did you tell me to shut up I said I was sorry I do not think it is very nice!" Catseye pouted, blinking very fast as her eyes got wet.

Oh no. Not crying. Warren moved closer to Catseye, putting an arm around her shoulder so he could hug her a little.

"It wasn't very nice, was it?" Warren looked up at Jay, continuing in what he hoped was his best reassuring tone. "And I'm sure Jay's going to apologise for it as well."

Jay inhaled before he lifted his hand, raking it through his hair and arching his wings back away from them. "Sorry Cats.." he mumbled.

Catseye buried her face in Warren's shoulder, nodding. "Okay," she mumbled. "Can we go back to bed and sleep?"

"I think so," Warren said carefully, turning his head to press a kiss against Catseye's hair. "How about you go make the bed warm for us again, while I have a word with Jay?" He could tell the other man wasn't quite ready to go back to bed, but he was hoping he could calm him down enough so they could all sleep.

"Okay!" the catgirl said with a bit more enthusiasm, bounding across the room and leaping onto the bed.

Jay stepped back and returned to the window, closing it as his wings slipped back into his back.

Warren crossed the room to stand next to him, his wings flaring just slightly so they had a little bit of privacy from Cats.

"I meant it," he said softly, reaching out to gently touch Jay's cheek. "We don't have to talk about this if you don't want to. But when you do want to, I'm happy to listen."

He leaned into the touch and closed his eyes but when he turned, he shook his head. "Ah don't wanna talk about it," he said, voice cracking slightly.

"I know, I know." He tilted Jay's face up towards his. "But I think one day we will need to. But it doesn't have to be now." He leaned in, brushing his lips against Jay's. "Let's go back to bed, okay? Cats is waiting for us."

Everything in Jay disarmed and a sigh slipped from his lips as he conceded. "All right." He craned his neck past Warren and their hands linked together. "Cats?"

"Sleepytime," Catseye answered, putting on a smile. "I will make sure the nightmares do not get you Jay," she promised.

"Definitely sleepytime," Warren said with a grin, letting Jay get back into the bed before he did.
