The first team of X-Force members uses Gambit's loud entrance as cover for their own quieter route into the building.

The position of the helicopter blinked on the small GPS that they carried, although they had been assured by LeBeau that they would know when they arrived. It was a distraction, possibly suicidal one, which would allow the small trio of X-Force operatives to ghost past the secure parameter of the Secretariat Building's South Block, and gain access to the security systems. By setting off random ones while killing the ones between the outside and their objective, the building would be in chaos and the forces inside not sure which emergency to respond to, giving them time to reach their goals. In their case, it was the war room, deep inside the Ministry of Defense in the South Block. It was from there that the Prime Minister and his command staff could issue orders regarding India's nuclear assets, and their mission was clear; ensure no orders to mobilize them could be given, by whatever means necessary.

Given the planned distraction, brute force in bypassing electronic security was not the way Doug was hoping to play things. The less attention drawn to them until they were in position, the better. He didn't fancy playing 'a nice game of global thermonuclear war', certainly. He pulled a slim netbook out from the pack on his back and began looking for a likely spot to access the security grid.

Jubilee stepped up behind Doug and glanced over his shoulder, watching him work. The amount of sugar she'd consumed on their way here had her tapping her fingers against her thigh in an uneven staccato twitch.

"Stop that," Sofia said, on cue. She hated playing to such an easy set up, but cliche or not, it was annoying. The heel of her hand rested on the wall behind her, giving her a sense of space, as she played look out in the opposite direction Jubilee was, well, supposed to be watching, scanning the full panorama with eyes that felt suspiciously like a pong ball. "Tell me we lucked out for once and it's one of the systems we prepared for and thus I don't have to stand around here for more than five minutes, waiting to be shot at."

Jubilee was so close that Doug could practically feel her breath on the back of his neck. "Personal space, Jubes?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. The problem was that they could only do so much without physical access to the systems in question. "I'm working on it," he informed Sofia.

A short time later, klaxons began blaring at several locations within the Secretariat building, and the faint clamor of shouts and running boots could be heard from outside. "Four minutes, thirty-seven seconds," Doug announced to Sofia, glancing at his watch. "Let's go."

"Fun n' games time," Jubilee quipped, heading into the building, feet completely silent on the concrete floor. She brought up the layout of the building from her memory and took the first right, counting off doors as she went before taking another left. "Guards up ahead."

Wondering when exactly she'd signed up for human shield detail, Sofia stepped in front of Doug who was still shoving various tools inside his pack as they moved. The first guard was taken out by the small gymnast as he rounded the corner, using the element of surprise and her own speed against him; the second was Sofia's, rushing him as he stared, mouth open, at the fate of his partner. He made a dull thud as he hit the wall and she winced, at the noise rather than the violence, then a sickening crack as he plummeted forehead first into the linoleum floor.

Doug took the third guard as he tried to raise a walkie-talkie to sound the alarm. A quick knee to the stomach left the man out of breath with a whoosh, and a sharp elbow to the back of the head rendered him unconscious, collapsing in a heap next to the other two.

Jubilee glanced around, noting that there were no more guards rushing to help the ones they'd just taken out. Score one for the home team, but it was well past time they got going again.

She took off down the hallway again, heading for the meeting point with the rest of their team.
