Julian and Warren select a car for him to barrow in order to visit old friends nearby.
"You haven't had any accidents driving, have you?" Warren looked sternly (or did his best, being stern wasn't really his strongpoint) at Julian, attempting to act like a responsible adult. The cars here were all family cars, and there were few of them that would be missed if anything permanant happened to them. There would just be the annoyance of having to replace it, if the car in question merited replacement.
"No, my McLaren back at the mansion is cherry," Julian followed the winged man down the steps of the shalet into the garage that exited into the driveway down the mountains. "Besides, my reaction time is subconscious and I'm pretty sure my TeeKay shields could stop a speeding car if it came to it." He paused and held up his hands at Warren's inquiring look, "Which it wont! I'm just, um, going to visit some old friends who are in the area."
"Uh huh," Warren said, trying to hide something of a smirk. He remembered plenty of illicit trip to visit friends when he was Julian's age, though he was pretty sure he'd never asked permission to do so. A point for Julian (or not, depending on your view of things)? Warren moved over to the board where all the keys hung, glancing to Julian and flipping on the lights. "See anything that takes your fancy?"
"Low profile, high traction," Julian glanced at the garage as the lights came on one by one, each shining on an individual vehicle. "How about that black truck over there?" He pointed to a beat-up Ford Ranger from the mid-nineties.
"I can't believe we still have her," Warren laughed at the choice, plucking the keys from the board and turning to Julian. "Take good care of her, I've got some fond memories of that car." He held the keys up, growing serious for a moment. "Be careful on the roads, they can be pretty treacherous. And if you get into any trouble, don't hesitate to call for help. Your telekinesis might be helpful, but not even it will stop you from freezing to death buried in a snow drift."
With a wink, Julian took the keys with his TeeKay, "Don't worry about a thing, I'll take good care of her. And we'll both be in one piece when I get back."
"I'm glad to hear it," he said with a smile. "Take care of yourself. And don't do anything I wouldn't do."
