Warren takes Tabitha flying.

Tabitha was just lucky enough that the mild late winter weather held. Wrapped up in her X-Men uniform with two layers of long underwear beneath, a flight wouldn't freeze her to death.

She was bouncing like a five-year-old waiting in line at Disney Land.
Warren often didn't think about the weather - mostly because it didn't bother him as much. Sure, he felt the cold like everyone else, but at the same time, his body was also built to withstand the high altitude, which was frequently colder than the ground temperature. So he wasn't quite as rugged up as Tabitha, but he was at least wearing a shirt, which he frequently didn't when he was out flying.

"Don't you trust me to keep you warm?" Warren asked teasingly as he joined Tabitha on the fliers platform.

"It should be enough that I'm trusting you not to drop me," she retorted. "You're an angel, not Superman."

"Angels don't kill," he said lightly, grinning at her. "And I'm stronger than I look. Don't worry, I won't drop you." Without another word, ducking slightly so he could sweep her off her feet, one arm behind her knees and the other around her shoulders.

Her breath caught in the base of her throat and she possibly squeezed Warren's neck tighter than strictly necessary. Pressure bubbled up in her chest, and exploded outward in laughter.

Warren grinned again. "Just don't flail too much." With that warning, Warren took to the air, a few powerful beats of his wings gaining them the altitude needed so they could fly out over the roof and the tops of the trees. "And don't close your eyes," he whispered in her ear.

She turned her face into the wind, ignoring the tears it brought to her eyes. She had to remind herself to breath. "You get to do this whenever you want?" She asked.

"Within reason," he said with a smile, arching around to fly them over the lake. "It sucks to fly when it's raining. Or snowing." Not that he couldn't, but it was just inconvenient.

Tabs' giddiness did not abate. She reached up with one hand to wipe the tears from her eyes. "This is amazing, Warren. I can't imagine why you ever land."

"Well, there aren't all that many people in the sky," he said with a grin. "And there's work, and training, and..." He trailed off for a moment before smirking. "It's actually really hard to have sex while flying."

For a moment, her face and brain went completely blank. " You said remarkably hard. As in you've tried, and though difficult, succeeded."

"Of course," Warren said with an unabashed grin. "I'm a proud member of a most unique Mile High club." His smile turned just a little wicked with his next comment. "You should try it sometime."

Tabs' jaw dropped in horrified embarrassment. How did he find out. She'd only told Cammie and Vanessa and they were both very cagey women.

Hell, maybe there was a sign across her forehead.

"-- or not," he said hurriedly, misinterpreting her expression. He might be okay with sex at high altitudes, but it wasn't for everyone. Especially with the risk involved when there wasn't a plane around you.

That's about when she realized her misunderstanding. "You mean sex in flight!" she blurted before her brain could properly engage. She belatedly clapped her free hand over her mouth.

"Yes," he said with a laugh. "What did you think I meant?" And then his brain caught up, and suddenly Tabitha's mortification made sense. He didn't say anything more, wheeling around so they were flying away from the lake and back over the trees.

She turned her face into his shoulder with a mortified squeak, but she couldn't stay there for long. The beauty of the flight had her face turned back to the wind, hoping Warren would just drop the subject.

Warren let the silence settle, continuing her flight and ensuring she got to see all of Xavier's property from the air, as well as a little bit of the land belonging to their neighbors.

But eventually he did have to return, starting to tire a little bit thanks to the extra weight. He set himself down on the fliers platform, relaxing his grip on her and lowering her feet to the ground.

"I do hope that lived up to expectations," he said quietly, and sincerely. No flippant comments from him for the moment.

She didn't step away immediately, still a little breathless from the flight. She sighed happily. "That was amazing."

Warren grinned, keeping a hand resting on her hip. "It is," he agreed. "Please consider the offer to go flying always open."

Tabitha groaned longingly. "You're entirely too busy to be catering to my flying fetish."

"You'd be amazed what I could be persuaded to blow off for a beautiful woman," he countered with a smile.

Thanks to the last weeks and change of head-turning comments, her blush wasn't quite as intense as previous encounters. It still left her a little off-kilter, and a little glad the earlier awkwardness was forgotten. "I- uh- thank you," she said with a large smile.

"It was my pleasure, honestly." He offered her his arm, a smile on his face. "Shall we head in? I don't know about you, but I'm feeling a little bit cold and I have a hankering for hot chocolate. Which is one of the few things I can do in the kitchen without messing it up."

She nodded. "That would be very nice, thank you."
