Elizabeth Rose shows up at Lorna's Booth and the fun begins
"Here you go." Sooraya handed over the paper plate with the grilled meat on it. "You can find sauce over there and I hope you have nice day." She quickly tucked the money away and when she saw no more customers, she turned to the others. "It seems to be go going well so far..."
"Yup yup!" Sharon chirped, offering a popcorn ball to the small child. "No one's tried to fight us with swords or thrown up mead on us, I'd say we're doing good!" Those were her mental images of a renaissance fair. "I wish that guy dressed up like a jester would stop coming over here to tell us those awful, awful jokes, though," she muttered with a smirk. "Are you having fun at the fair, kitten?" she asked the little girl at the booth.
Lorna put out more popcorn balls on the stand, "He might like you Sharon, the way he keeps coming over here." She teased.
A small child walked up to their booth and looked at the three ladies standing there, mouth gaping open. Elizabeth Rose nodded when the one with purple hair asked her a question. "Yes ma'am. You don't like that jester?"
When the little kid asked her if she didn't like the jester and Lorna's comment about him liking her sunk in, Sharon stared hard at the guy in the costume. "Huh. He is kinda cute. And I haven't had sex in a while. Maybe I'll have sex with him later." She then realized that the little kid was still there and her tail waved sheepishly. "Whoops. I think that jester has some really bad jokes, little kitten," she told the girl, "but I do like the bells on his hat! I love jingly bells!"
"Catseye!?!?!?!?" Sooraya said faintly scandalized, in the meantime struggling to hide her smile behind her and a faint blush on cheeks.
Lorna was equally as shocked at Sharon's choice of words but ended up laughing, "If you do, be safe and careful." Not at all that she was encouraging her friend or all.
The girl was more interested in the tail that she saw than what was being spoken. "Want to come and play with me?"
"I will," Sharon nodded to Lorna, then turned back to the little kid again. "I really want to, but I can't right now, little kitten. I have to stay here to help give food to people. Right?" she asked Lorna, turning back to the green-haired woman with a raised eyebrow.
Lorna nodded, "Yup. Maybe later when we take a break."
"No...now." The little girl, frowned a bit. "Come play with me." Her eyes flashed white in that brief instant.
The world suddenly seemed to change for Sooraya. All tiredness disappeared from her body and the colors seemed much softer. She twirled around and let her skirts swirl with her. "Come on, my fellow ladies. A feast is to had and we need to make sure everyone has enough to eat at the feast so they can dance." She started loading pieces of grilled meat on a platter so she could take it with her easily.
"And drink!" Sharon added with some emphatic head nodding, wiping her hands on her barmaid's apron as she started filling their supply of plastic imitation wine goblets with soda. "People will be thirsty from all the dancing. Where are the musicians?"
Lorna looked down at the child and then ran out of the tent, those closest to them were effected by Elizabeth's Rose. "Come help us gather a feast!" Turning to the Sharon and Sooraya. "The kings hall would be a perfect place to set up."
Elizabeth Rose clapped her hands together. "Yey! Feast!" Jumping up and down. "You should tell others to join too! Then we can all play."
With a few quick movements, Sooraya finished stacking up the last of the grilled meat and she hefted the plate with ease. "I am coming. Come on, Cats." Totally not hindered by her heavy skirts, she hurried after Lorna and the little girl.
Sharon loaded a tray with plastic goblets of soda and followed Sooraya out, heading to the tents opposite where Lorna was headed. "Come one, come all!" she called out like a town crier. "Feast in the king's hall! Dancing! Eating! Drinking! Music! The fairest maiden in the land wants you all to come! Let's go!" She noticed that some people looked confused for a moment, but after a brief hesitation they began to gather up their things and follow the little girl.
