Dori, accompanied by Kyle as a Excitement Buffer give Scott the heads up on the Purifier threats, and the favor that Bertha has asked of the X-Men
Dori's summer classes ran late and so Kyle had picked her up from the university and Dori had spent the whole trip back squeaking happily about their impending free (mostly) trip to NoXie. She had filled him in of course, and he was taking it seriously and Dori was too, or as seriously as she could as she ran down the hall of the mansion.
"Mr. Summers!!" she called, tracking him the best she could with scent.
Kyle had one hand over his eyes, but peeking through his fingers and was shaking his head laughing. "I -swear- I didn't buy her any coffee or donuts on the way back. It's actual for-serious X-Men stuff." He couldn't keep the fond amusement out of his voice though.
Scott looked down at the coffee in his hands, took a sip and very carefully placed it down on the table out of Dori's reach. "What's up, you two?" he asked curiously.
Dori came to a screeching halt, or as close to a stop as she ever did as she was still bouncing up and down when she stood in front of Scott, "Hey, Mr. Summers, I got something for us to do. Have you heard of that festival that they're doing this weekend in Minnesota with the music and everything while I have a friend there - remember Big Bertha? She was part of the Great Lakes Avengers and she was the really big one, and she and I have been-"
"Purifiers. Threat. it's legit, and they want backup security." It was amazing just how much Kyle could say in the brief pauses where Dori had to breathe. "I really swear, we didn't even stop at Donutula's or anything."
Scott's brow furrowed as he tried to absorb the rapid influx of information being thrown at him, "The Great Lakes Avengers right." He thought he had seen a flyer for this concert lying around somewhere. Scott turned his head to include Kyle in his field of vision, "What's this concert about and do we have confirmation of the threat?" he asked in a business like tone.
"It's this totally awesome pro-mutant show with mostly mutant bands in the Twin Cities," Dori said happily bouncing up and down, "And they apparently like announced it to every news channel in the state that they're going to punish everyone there," she wasn't happy about that, "But! We'll get to be there both days and get passes and watch all the shows!"
"And the important thing is that yeah, the threat's pretty legit." Kyle said. "It's been on their local news, couple of refernces on the HuffPo and some other online articles. None of the nationals yet but eh, you know, Fox News, news you can trust to be bigoted fuckheads." He shrugged. "Concert funds the local HeLiX chapter, so I'm guessing the Purifiers have decided, you know, oh my god, rock music and those devil muties, gotta be purged or something."
"That sounds like something they'd come up with," Scott agreed, "I thought we'd seen the last of them for a while but I guess not." He shook his head sadly before looking up at the two X-men before him, "Bertha's requested back up then, we'll be happy to provide it," he continued mentally flipping through the X-men trying to assemble a team for the event. "I guess you both want to be in on the mission, although we're there to provide security, not be part of the concert crowd," he teased Dori.
"Oh, I know. We're totally there to help out," Dori said, nodding her head seriously, "I'll call Bertha, who uh, wantsmistergarrisontocome," she said.
"Oh God." Kyle snorted out a laugh, and shook his head. "That'll be hilarious. I'll want video of that if he goes."
"I just want to see his face when you tell him," Scott agreed as he started down the hall. "Let's get to the briefing room then, I'll contact the others to meet us there and you can bring them up to speed.
