Korvus underestimated Wade's ability to eat churro like sweets and enlists Lorna to help him make more for the rest of Diwali.

"And that is it for today." Lorna dismissed her class once she was satisfied with their cleaned work stations - also she didn't want to clean up their mess. "Hello Korvus, ready to make some sweets?"

The young man nodded, approaching from the back of the class. The sweets Korvus made by himself the night before had been far too little. He'd need help and access to multiple deep fryers which meant he's need the cooking classroom. "I am. Last night's batch proved inaccurate once Wade made an appearance. Murukku are apparently similar to something called a churro."

Lorna laughed, "I always make extra just in case if Wade does show up. And I believe I have everything that is needed to make Murukku. That is the circle looking churro that you deep fry correct?"

Korvus nodded, producing a small stack of recipe cards from his back pocket. "I brought instructions so that I do not forget any steps." He was still new too cooking, ultimately. "This is traditionally a task for street vendors."

"I am impressed, most people are not even that prepared when walking into the kitchen. May I?" Looking down at the cards so she can get out what they needed to get started. "Really? What else can you tell me about Murukku? I do know that they come from India but other than that, nothing really."

"Fried dough spiced with chili powders." Korvus offered. "I employed a cake icing pouch to produce the appropriate shape yesterday. I do not believe that was the proper tool, however." He moved in alongside Lorna to help where he could.

"Well no, not a proper tool. Dough is tougher than icing, you'll need something more like this." Opening a cabinet and taking down a cookie dough press. "Something like this." Handing it over to Korvus, "This bad boy is a lot easier than a cake icing pouch."

Korvus laughed softly, "Physical difficulty is not as much of a consideration for me but I do wish to learn proper technique." He turned the device over in his hands before setting it up.

"The good thing about cooking, there is no wrong or right way to make things. Given there are certain cultures are different, it is just what you feel most comfortable with." Looking at the card, "Okay I'll get the flour, would you mind getting the fryers set up? They are in the cabinet over there."

The young man nodded, moving over silently to help prepare the space for the marathon cooking session.

Lorna grabbed the flour and the other ingredients that were labeled on the cards, she set them out neatly on the counter. "How many did you want to make? Couple dozen?"

"Of each." Korvus confirmed with a nod. "I would like to have the treats prepared and out earlier today so that everyone has an opportunity to sample them."

"Okay sounds like a plan." Getting out the cooking oil and starting up the fryers. "Ready for the making part now that the setting up has been completed?

Korvus nodded, "I am capable..." After a moment's pause. "My mother used to sing when she cooked. Do you have any habits in which you indulge?"

Lorna thought about it for a long moment. "No, I mean I'll listen to music or have a glass of wine when I cook but otherwise I am pretty boring. Do you sing?"

"At times." Korvus nodded, "The last time I sang was to Rachel while we were in Genosha." He recalled. It wasn't something that he had ever really spoken about. "She was being subjected to the mutate process. There is a genre of music in India that is best translated as bittersweet."

Shit. That was the last thing Lorna wanted to do was bring up those kind of memories. "Is there any music that is sang for Diwali?"

Korvus nodded, "Many children's songs and, what you might call, pop songs. I am mostly familiar with traditional culture..." He thought for a moment. "I could sing the Diwali Puja Vidhi. It is similar to a prayer."

"Only if you don't mind. I would like to hear it."

The vidhi sounded much like Gregorian chants, or any other musical religious prayer. Though not entirely unpleasant, the vidhi was not exactly catchy or relevant to current musical trends. Korvus stuck with the entire song to occupy some of the silence as they worked, however.

Lorna smiled as she worked on getting the Murukku ready for the fryer. "I love the culture behind dishes. Puts more meaning behind it." Lorna said when the prayer came to an end.

Korvus nodded, "I have only learned to reproduce the food I used to eat at home thus far. My friends in India do so with me over Skype some evenings."

"Well if you are ever in the mood to learn to cook other things, you know where to find me. I do not mind giving one-on-one lessons."

"If I become proficient enough with meals from India, I may continue to learn more from other cultures." Korvus gave Lorna a smile. "Thank you for your offer."

"Let me know. And I am always down to learn new meals, especially from India."

The young man nodded, "I will store my cookbook in the kitchen so that you may access it as you please. Do you have a special interest in Indian cuisine?"

"I love the smells and taste of Indian food. Plus I can never get enough of learning new dishes."

Korvus nodded, "Tikka masala smells the best, in my opinion. Perhaps we can make that some time soon." He offered helpfully.

"Anytime you want. I am always here." Lorna removed a Murukku from the fyer. "Viola our first one is finished."
