Tandy delivers Maddie's belated birthday gift.

"Maddie you home?" Tandy entered the suite with a white envelope in hand which held the contents of Maddie's birthday present. "I have something for you." Waving the envelope around.

Maddie's head appeared over the top of the sofa. "Hey Tandy!" She smiled and waved the other girl in. And what was that she was carrying? An envelope. Intriguing. "That doesn't look big enough to be a pony. Is it a pony? Ooh. I know. It's a private island. Isn't it?"

"Sadly not a pony and the private island is still in the works." Holding out the envelope for Maddie to take. "Happy belated birthday Maddie."

The redhead accepted the envelope, eyeing it warily. It felt light in her hand, and holding it up to the light revealed no discernible clues as to its contents. Curious. She brought it up to her nose and inhaled deeply, eyes closed to increase concentration. Nope. Nothing there. Maybe if she bit it? "Blech." Maddie screwed up her face as the taste of paper filled her mouth. "Tastes like paper," she commented to her companion. Then she shifted over on the couch and patted the space beside her. "Come. Sit with me."

"I give up. What is it?"

Tandy laughed as she sat down next to Maddie. "I am no genius, but maybe if you open it that might give you a little clue on what it is." Giving her red hair friend a smirk, "But the hint...is that you can use it when we go to Hollywood."

Open it? Maddie looked at Tandy like she was talking crazy. Crazy talk. It was much more fun to guess than to just open it. Where was her sense of fun? "Something I can use when we go to Hollywood?" The redhead continued to ponder. "Fits in an envelope. Isn't very heavy. Hollywood. Hmmm...."

She held the envelope, hoping to develop X-Ray vision in the next few seconds to no avail. "Ooh!" Maddie perked up, eyes wide with excitement. "It's a gift certificate to Legoland! Wait. That's not in Hollywood. Shit."

"Nope not Legoland. Though I know what to get you for next time. BUT...the next and only hint...it is kind of like a gift certificate." Tandy grinned at the red head and shook her head. "And that is the last hint you will get."

"Kind of like a gift certificate, but not a gift certificate?" Maddie slowly lifted the envelope, eyebrows quirked in intrigue, and drew out the piece of paper. "Hmmm..." She cast a glance over at Tandy as she unfolded the note then began to read its comments. "No way!" The paper and envelope were quickly discarded, and the redhead bounced in place for a few moments before pouncing on the blonde with a boa constrictor hug. "How'd you know!?! I love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu." She squeezed tighter.

"You gave me food! Foooooooooooooood."

Tandy managed to free an arm and gave Maddie a hug back. "Sucking the air out of me..." She teased and patted her back. "I know cause I hug out with you all those times during rehearsals...and was your suitemate for like half a year." The blonde laughed, "I did but not just any food... restaurant of your choice. So choose wisely young padawan. There is a lot of selections in Hollywood."

Her grip on the blonde loosened;mil it would not be a good thing to allow the giver of food to die before the promise of said food was delivered. "I love you," she said in a small voice. What did people eat in Hollywood? Did they eat? Man, she frowned, she hoped they had more than juice bars and oxygen bars. "First you offer to take me with you to the Classic Movie Fest and now you're offering to feed me. And all I gave you was a lousy bracelet I found in a vintage store." Maddie's grip tightened momentarily. "I love you forever."

"Well you have joined Clint and I on movie night and expressed an interest in some of the films that will be shown there. And what kind of host would I be if I didn't feed my guest?" Tandy smiled at Maddie, "And I hold a special place for you right here in my heart. And speaking of hearts...I don't have pistachios with me at the moment but I do trust you won't hurt Sue. She told me about the two of you."

"Damn." Maddie had been waiting for the mention of her and Sue, and the reminder of the conversation she had with Tandy about Clint made her smile brightly. She stretched her arms high above her head and leaned back on her side of the couch, kicking up her feet to rest them on the blonde's legs. There. Nice and comfy. "I was really craving some for a snack. I'll pick up some next time I'm at the store."

"But yeah. Sue and me." Her face melted into a dreamy look as she played with a lock of her hair. "Yeah."

"You have that look on your face! If I had known earlier I would had tried to get an extra ticket, but we can bring Sue back something nice from Hollywood."

The urge to throw a pillow at Tandy for that comment was very tempting, if only because it would give Maddie something to laugh at instead of making this reputation ruining dreamy face. Instead she just rolled her eyes and uttered a very pointed "Whatever" as she tried to regain her composure. "We didn't know earlier, and besides," she shrugged, "it'll give us something to talk about besides school and baseball. And, like you said, we'll bring her back something nice."

"Thank you again for inviting me. Seriously. That's like... I never thought I'd go to something like this. I'm really grateful. I just wish, you know, that I could do something for you like this in return."

"Baseball...I am doing horrible right now. I haven't checked. I should check." Tandy smiled at Maddie, "I think everyone should go to a film fest once in their life, I haven't been to the one in Hollywood yet but hear it is amazing. Sometimes, you can meet stars at events like this. And you can make it up by continuing being awesome. And maybe doing karaoke with me at least once."

Maddie laughed. "Sue totally kicked my ass last week thanks to all the injuries to my players. Stupid auto-bot." And stupid play keeping her from putting together an actually decent team. But it was mostly the injuries, which weren't really anyone's fault. "Which reminds me I need to ask her what she wants for beating me. Anyways."

She waved her hand in the air to whisk the topic away. "Well while you and Clint are being all couple-y," she playfully poked Tandy with her foot, "I am going to go off and hob-nob with celebrities. And after we get back we will have to institute karaoke night at least once a month. How's that sound?"

"Both of you are killing me with points. And you can always get her a chess board...also she has told me of her new liking of surfing." Giving Maddie some insight of what Sue liked. "Don't forget us when you meet some fancy director who wants to put you in his next film." Tandy nodded furiously at Maddie's suggestion, "Once a month karaoke, I am pretty sure we can get people to do that. That sounds like a new thing for us teens."

"As long as you and I can sing 'Telephone' then you know I'm down," Maddie replied. "We gonna blow it up with our sick talent."
