Clarice goes to talk to Jean and remind her that she's graduating soon....which means she needs a job in the medlab.

Clarice wandered down to the medlab looking slightly more professional than she usually did. That is, instead of scrubs, her pajamas or school clothes, she wore slacks and a sweater with heels instead of sneakers, crocs or flats. Clarice hated crocs, but they were amazing in hospitals, so she put up with them despite how fugly they were, "Dr. Grey?" she called, looking for the red headed doctor. She was going to be all formal and official about this.

Jean eyed the light overhead. It has been flickering for a good ten minutes or so. Kyle was in class and Fred was not in the building, otherwise she would've called them. As she made the decision to take care of the matter herself she heard Clarice.

"In here," she called from one of the nearby examination rooms. A series of boxes were piled in up next to the supply cabinet. Jean was in the middle of restocking, a clipboard in one hand, her pencil in another.

"Hey doc," Clarice said coming around into view. She'd known Jean since she was 15, nearly 10 years now. Things had changed a lot since she'd been forced to work in the med lab as punishment.

Standing in the middle of the room, hands on her hips, Jean glanced toward the supply closet door as it opened.

"Hey," she said with a smile. She was a little distracted by the task at hand.

"Did you need something?"

Clarice shrugged slightly, "I wanted to inform you that I graduate in May as a Physicians Assistant. And you're the head Doc in charge here," where she'd be coming to work. "I didn't know if we needed to interview or something as a formality."

Jean blinked, then smiled broadly. "Wow, is it that time already? Right...right. Of course. I'm sorry....I should've been paying more attention," she said, then shook her head.

"There's no need. We'd talked about it ages ago. Amelia and I would certainly welcome the help. When it's slow, it's incredibly slow and when it's fast it's all we can do to hang on. So definitely be prepared for that, though."

"So like the ER," unsurprising really, especially since Clarice had been there for a awhile and had been the cause of some of the excitement. "No worries. I'll keep going out with the X-Men anyways. Plenty of insanity there." She was glad that the conversation was so simple.

"Pretty much. Except with far more exciting injuries. Mostly bullet holes and stabbing, though we have gotten a few unique ones..." Jean said. The most recent out of the ordinary one being having to piece Garrison back together and break some bones telekinetically so he could heal properly with his own healing factor. But she left that out.

"Either way, I'm glad you could join us."

"What? My radiation poisoning wasn't exciting enough?" Clarice teased, figuring that that was really the case. Mutants or not, people were people and scrapes happened. Those weren't interesting. Being superheros was slightly more interesting in terms of injuries. "Me too. We need another medical person, especially with us both on the X-Men and potentially getting hurt ourselves." And there was Amelia, but that would overwhelm her.

Jean laughed. "Well, I was grouping yours in with the 'unique' cases...." she said. The suggestion of more help coming from a non X-Man left her thoughtful.

"Maybe."

While she welcomed the idea of help, the potential for putting a civilian in danger was not something she enjoyed. Amelia had almost died. Hank had left. Madelyn had left many years ago before that. Most doctors in even normal circumstances had a high instance of burnout, here came with it an added element of risk.

Clarice, being a X-Man, wasn't really a civilian. That was a bonus. "Then I guess I'll talk to you after graduation," she offered. "Because help is always needed here."

"Always," she echoed, a faint smile attached. "I look forward to working with you." And that was the truth. Admittedly, Amelia wasn't the best company when it came to working. On the one hand she could always rely on her to stay on task, but on the other...Amelia didn't much like her. And for good reason.
