Tabby comes to Kurt and Sam's suite to collect something that belongs to her, stumbling across a sleepy Sam in the process.

Really, Kurt was just being mean, stealing her cot. But it did give her a chance to brush up on her lock-picking skills. Keen (caffeinated) observation told her when her blue friend had left his suite. She used the opportunity to swoop in and get her cot back.

She was very tired.

Sam, who had been tired earlier in the day, had taken a nap. He hadn't realized that Kurt was no longer in their suite, so when he heard noises outside of his room he sat up, yawned, and wandered out into the common area to see what was going on.

"Hey, what's goin' on, you makin' somethin' to eat maybe? I'm kinda hungry and-" Standing there in just a t-shirt and his boxers while scratching his stomach, Sam realized that it wasn't Kurt after all. Whoops.

Tabitha squeaked and whirled around, attempting to hide her tools behind her back. One glimpse of Sam half-dressed and they thumped dully into the carpet. She tried to say hello, or anything really. Instead she made half-choked sounds.

"Oh, I, um." Sam blinked and turned around, facing the other way while looking over his shoulder, but that still didn't really help. So he turned back half way, standing sideways to Tabs, which kind of mitigated the damage, sort of, maybe? Or so he hoped. "You're... you're not Kurt." That was the best he could come up with at that moment in time, sadly.

Painfully aware of her cutesy pajamas and wishing she'd thought to put on a bra before her larcenous side trip, she shifted guiltily from foot to foot. She shook her head, while staring firmly at the floor. "Nope. But he has something of mine and I would like it back," she said with a stubborn nod.

"Oh? What, uh, what does he have? Maybe I can give it to you. If I can find it, that is. To give to you." He paused, biting his tongue. "It." Folding his hands in front of him, Sam turned around to face Tabby because, he had to face it, standing sideways like that was just weird. So he held his folded hands in front of his boxers and tried to look calm, cool, and collected, managing neither of the three. "I mean, how can I help?"

Tabs looked up at him in alarm. She had no logical reason why, but she really didn't want anybody else to know about her trouble sleeping. Guilt ate at her. "Y'know," she said hesitantly, "I really should just wait for him to come back." She stuttered over the last word.

"Ok, that's all right if you'd rather wait for Kurt." He didn't want to intrude in case it was something personal or whatnot. "You can stay here and wait, of course. I dunno how long he'll be gone, or when he'll be back. I was, uh, I was sleepin'." Sam nodded his head back towards his room, as if that wasn't already obvious. "I can keep you company, if you'd like, though I should pants on some put first. I mean, put on some pants. 'Cause I'm not wearing any, heh." He chuckled nervously at the obvious and wished his hands were bigger.

She nodded with wide eyes. "I did notice." And he had fabulous legs. If she'd been looking at them. Which she hadn't. It took every ounce of willpower not to cross her arms over her boobs.

"Yeah, I... I should go fix that." He nodded and headed to his room once again, then quickly walked inside, grabbing the nearest pair of pants and hopping into them. The sound of him hopping up and down on the floor as he jumped into his jeans was audible throughout the whole apartment, and once he was in them he zipped them up and came back out. "Back, heh. Sorry, can I... can I get you something, something to drink maybe, or eat?" His hair was still messed up from his nap but at least he was wearing pants now, Sam figured.

While he was out, she snatched her lock-picking tools from the carpet, shoved them back into their pouch, and tucked the pouch into the waistband of her pajamas. Pajamas should come with pockets.

She kind of melted at his offer. Really, how could she say no to those eyes? "Food is good, do you have coffee?" Because really, she needed more caffeine.

"I do, yes! I will get you some coffee, sure." Sam scurried over to the kitchenette and started to do just that. "How do you take it, Tabby? Your coffee, I mean, hot obviously, heh, but, um. You know." Words escaped him at the moment so he just coughed and took a moment to calm down. "Sugar, cream, that kinda thing?"

She followed at a more sedate pace, terribly conscious of the tools in her waistband. "I tend to adulterate it to a degree that makes actual coffee lovers cringe in horror," she said with a grin. "What can I say? I'm a coffee heathen." She leaned against the wall to watch him work.

"Hah, nah, it's all good. I add a lot of stuff myself most times, usually one lump-" He turned around, starting to relax again, and that's when Sam noticed the pouch-shaped bulge in Tabby's pajamas for the first time. "... in your pants? In my pants. I mean my coffee. A lump of sugar, not a pants type lump thing." Oh good lord please make it stop.

Both of Tabitha's hands flew to her face! "All right! I was breaking into Kurt's room to steal back my cot! But I think it's only fair because he stole it from the library basement and that's the only place I can get some sleep any more because I can't keep sleeping on couches, it's not fair to my friends! I mean, you guys are already amazing, you don't need to put up with my neurosis." Both hands slid firmly over her mouth, because her hands apparently had far more thinking power. She stared at Sam with wide eyes.

"Oh," was all he could muster after all of that. Then Sam nodded his head in agreement. "No, yeah, totally, of course you should have it back, Tabs. And it's been more than ok when you've been on the couch, no neurosis to put up with or anything, I promise. Scout's honor." He held up his three fingers in the Scout salute with a small grin on his face. The coffee machine dinged that it was ready, so he started to pour them up some and brought a cup over to her.

She stared at him. She could feel the confused frown between her eyebrows. It couldn't be that simple.

Could it?

She stared at the coffee he offered, held so casually in his big hand. She reached out to take it, hands actually steady for the first time in... She looked back at him. "Thank you," she said softly.

"You're welcome." Sam replied with a smile. He took another sip of his own coffee before he said anything else stupid.
