Sue & Julian catch up in the kitchen over cookies- threats of bodily harm are made.

Julian pulled his car into the garage stall and climbed out beneath the vertical lifting doors. Reaching back inside he grabbed the bag of supplies for his hot chocolate experiments and a few office supplies he hadn't felt comfortable borrowing from the school supplies closet. Bags in hand, the well dressed ex-scion walked into the mansion and made a b-line for the kitchen.

He stopped in the doorway, a mane of blonde hair had her back to him- too bright to be Tandy's, he knew it belonged to someone he'd been avoiding. "Hello, Susan Storm," he said, entering the room proper.

Sue started guiltily, her head jerking up to hit the top of the cupboard she was presently burrowing through. She was normally good, but just after stopping by the mansion she really really wanted a sweet and she just happened to know where Lorna kept all the good stuff. Hence the look like a deer in headlights she turned on Julian, "Ah, Mr Keller...uhh hi."

Familiar with all of usual hiding spots, he knew what Sue was up to. "You know she keeps the really good stuff in the cabinet above the fridge," he made his way toward the superior stash. "How's my second favorite mutant socialite today?"

"I didn't want to take the good stuff, saving that for a rainy day" Sue countered her voice muffled by the cookie she held between her teeth as she backed gingerly out of the cupboard before dropping back onto the floor and holding out another cookie to Julian, "Only your second favourite mutant socialite? I'm devastated."

Giving up on his efforts to raid the stash, he took the cookie and hopped a seat onto the counter, "You shouldn't be, it's incredibly hard to compete with how much I like myself."

Sue nodded to herself as she looked Julian up and down, "I dunno," she allowed, a teasing smile playing over her lips, "from what I see it couldn't be that hard." The blonde stuck her tongue out at Julian playfully before turning back to her cookie.

Julian raised an eyebrow at her comment as he chewed a bite of the chocolate chip cookie. Shaking his head, "So, how are you holding up?"

"I'm ok, just came as a little shock was all. These kinda things happen all the time..right?" She asked Julian in a small voice, "I just wish," Sue's voice trailed off while the thought of Hope trapped somewhere half way across the world..."I just wish." she offered with a sad shrug.

With a slight nod, Julian slid down from the counter and held his arms out offering a hug, "We've all been there- I know it sucks, but it'll get better, particularly if you find someone else." He paused, lowering his arms and brow slightly, "Not me of course, I'm already in a very committed, albeit fake, relationship."

"You're taken? Oh alas, how will my heart ever recover from such a cruel blow?" she asked as she held out a hand letting him pull her up off the ground into a hug.

Not wanting the hug to be awkward and overlong, he gave Tandy's best friend a pat on the back, "I know it sucks, if you ever need to talk...you're not a New Mutant, but I'm happy to listen." Stepping back he took a final bite of cookie, chewing it quickly and swallowing. "You need to get back out there- you aught to come out with Tandy and I sometime soon."

Sue quirked an eyebrow at Julian, "I wouldn't want to be a third wheel Julian, third person on a night out always ends up feeling odd. Besides, you guys are living in a paparazzi circus right now, I don't know how much more fuel we'd want to add to the Sulian rumours swirling out there, I'd rather avoid that if at all possible. Besides, it's not like I've been avoiding all life outside the mansion."

"Just most of it," Julian quipped, gears beginning to turn in his head. "The paparazzi seem to leave us alone around Salem Center, for the most part- the professor may have something to do with that, not sure. At least get coffee with us? Raiding various stashes will only get you so far."

"What can I say, university is keeping me really busy. I was thinking about overloading this semester, or maybe do an internship," Sue smiled, "It's college, I get out to parties and enjoy myself too, it's not like I'm a wreck who spends all night inside my apartment eating ice cream and listening to break up music."

Julian leveled a gaze at her and smirked, as an unsaid 'really?' hung in the air.

Sue returned his look with an amused look, "No seriously, what exactly do you think I am?"

"Honestly," he shrugged, "I'm not sure. I don't know you too well yet- but I do know you're not shutting yourself in...you're a bit too bad ass for that."

Sue grinned at the older mutant, "Damn straight," ed, "Totally bad ass, so you know if you ever even think about hurting my friend," she pointed a finger at Julian, "the all this awesome bad assness will make you wish you were never born."

"If I had a million dollars for every time I've heard that in the last few weeks, I would never have to work another day in my life," he rolled his eyes to accentuate his point. "Seriously, has someone been telling everyone I'm some sort of monster or something?"

"You work?" Sue asking in a exaggerated shocked voice, "Om my god, how terrible for you. I'm so sorry." the blonde grinned at Julian and took another bite of her cookie, "Well you have to admit it you do kinda have a reputation, if the stories from California are anything to go by." she told him in an amused tone of voice.

Suddenly a bit worried, he pressed for more information, "Which stories?" It wasn't like there was a shortage of them, but most of them had ended with him in a positive light- at least the ones from his time at Xavier's. The brief period as a paparazzi's favorite party-boy after he'd left the manor was less flattering, but still, he hadn't killed anyone.

"Which one do you want to hear? The one about you sleeping your way through pretty much the entire social scene out there. Or the one about all the parties you threw, or crashed. The trail of broken hearts and trampled flowers you left in a pretty short stay out there. I have to say it's mildly impressive."

"What can I say, I'm a social butterfly," Julian rolled his eyes. "The tales of my western escapades have been greatly exaggerated- and, if I may, they only cover about a year or so of my return 'home.' I spent far more time helping out at the WCA, studying and traveling to China." It always came down to the parties, which he hoped would help him on this side of the country...perhaps it was having the opposite effect.

"I didn't say they were a bad thing." Sue countered with an amused smile, "I love Tandy, but she sometimes lets things get to her and closes in on herself," not that Sue was guilty of that, nope not at all. "She could always use someone fun around to help pull her out of her shell when she needs it, someone who isn't a bad guy." She shrugged, "If said person is a good guy, then awesome, if not then," she grinned at Julian, "She's my best friend," she told him simply. There wasn't much more than that to say.

"Message received, for the sixth or seventh time," he sighed and nodded, "if I hurt Tandy, they'll never find my body."

"Exactly," Sue agreed before giving him a sympathetic look, "You've had this talk before with other people?"

He began ticking off fingers, "Adrienne Frost, Clint Barton, Susan Storm, Angelica Jones, Rogue," he stopped and waved off the question. "There's more, but it all starts to run together...those are the ones that stand out, and yes, I know I listed you on there too."

"Well I am the most dangerous person on list," Sue noted without a hint of modesty, "I mean if you disregard the Canadian Mountie boyfriends, and arrows, and fireballs and the ability to drain you of your life force that is.. Totally the most dangerous person there," she announced nodding sagely.
