Molly, Ty, and Tandy end up on Earth along with three Frost Giants - who instantly begin running amok in Las Vegas.
Three large figures slumped to the ground when the magic receded, blue skin making them nearly invisible in the darkness of the world into which they'd been drawn. The air was dry, no moisture present, yet despite the lack it was delightfully cold. Not as cold, the elder frost giant thought, as it was going to be, of course.
The first order of business, since they weren't being immediately assaulted by the Aesir or their thralls, was to retreat to a more defensible point where they might rest, recover, and learn. So the elder giant nudged the other two to their feet, set one to guard as he and his second prepared to leave.
The giants, of course, cared very little for the other panicked humans, growling metallic beasts, or the dazzle of lights and chrome that reached high into the clear Nevada sky. They quickly abandoned the scattered youths, who were left in the middle of what could only be Sin City.
If any of them were asleep, this would be quickly corrected by the squeal of horns and sirens as the giants left ice trails and destruction in their journey across the strip.
A figure stood over them, green and gold, and the god of mischief sighed dejectedly as he poked the small one with the butt of his staff. When this didn't work, he poked again much harder.
His staff was met with a hand grabbing the end of it, and Molly glanced over her shoulder, her eyes glowing purple as she took her end of the staff and used it to ram it forward, hitting Loki in the face. She shot up groggily, trying to stand, but looking like a baby giraffe.
"WHAT DID YOU DO, HORN HEAD?"
She didn't much look around, but she could tell that they had gone between dimensions. Sif and her did it all the time, which is why she didn't grow as old as Tandy and Ty.
Loki was knocked backward by the blow, but in his subsequent stumbling he send a telekinetic wave of force that knocked Molly into a parked car. Or, well, the remains of one.
This helped him regain his composure noticeably. He straightened his armor, and the reply he gave was practically a snarl. "I doomed you to Hel. I switched your insides and your outsides, but cursed you never to notice. I put the end of every story you will ever read into your heads. I switched your two friend's souls with that of stray dogs. I doomed you pests to a lifetime full of regret in love."
"I," and at this he collected himself, and puffed out his chest proudly, "Sent you nuisances home. I had so hoped you three would swell like balloons as your oath of service was broken, but I do have a busy schedule to keep. Midgard really is a more wonderful place since the locals redecorated."
Tandy opened her eyes and slowly got up. "What in the nine realms happened?" She looked in time to see a sign. "Vegas? Seriously?" Turning towards Loki, "Save your speeches for someone who cares..." Normally Tandy would had held her tongue as she was warned not to get on Loki's bad side - but she felt like she was hogged tied and dragged behind a speeding horse. Her entire body hurt.
"Well we aren't dead. So that is must mean we didn't break any oaths..." That is when her eyes traveled to the ice path that the giants left out. "Mother fucker. Ice giants are in Vegas, in Midgard! Ty! Molly - you okay? We have a job to complete." This time at least they weren't stuck in a cave. Rubbing her shoulder as she looked over at Loki, slightly worried he might do something before breaking off into a run.
Ty groaned and pushed himself to his feet. "I'm here." He brushed debris from his shoulders. "Let's get down to business." All the artificial lights left bits and wisps of shadows everywhere. "Maybe we can get a burger once we're done. I miss hamburgers." He took off down the street after the ice giants, dodging panicked people as he went.
There was a flick of green light as Loki lifted his staff again, and Tandy and Ty suddenly found themselves running in midair before they even reached the curb. The god stepped forward casually, putting him directly into the middle of the spell rune that had been etched into the blacktop upon their arrival.
"Ahem. Learn to respect your betters, children. I has hoped that your patrons would have bothered with the basics."
He turned to Molly as an aside, "Well, not Sif of course. Nonetheless, have fun with the giants. I hope you all die messily. Tell my brother I hate him."
With that, Loki faded into nothing and all traces of his magic were gone with him.
Picking herself up off the ground, Molly brushed some dirt away, curling her nose. "I think he probably knows that already," she said to the empty spot where he used to be, then offered a hand up to Tandy and Tyrone, since they was floating and now they weren't.
She could spot one of the giant straggling slightly behind, and pulled out a pair of bolos from one of her nifty collection pouches. Her eyes glowed purple as she flung it at the guy's legs, having to add a little bit of heft to it to get it to go farther. The aim would have been better if she weren't a little bit motion sick from Loki's spell, and the bolo wrapped around one of the giant's legs, causing him to hop on one foot but not fall over.
"Tan, you mind making it hard for our dude to see?" If they could get one it'd be better than nothing.
"Thanks for those encouraging words Loki!" But it was too late he was gone. "I hope to disappointment him." She stood back up after being dropped back to the ground.
"Sure thing Mols." Her hands glowed as her daggers were unleashed towards the Frost Giants eyes, not a kill shot but a very painful bright light. "Ty want to do the honors?"
Ty stepped up, pulling shreds of shadow from every nook and cranny on the strip. Sweat beaded his forehead with his concentration. "This would be so much easier if we could just kill them," he growled.
The frost giant in question, burned and now suffocating as shadows surrounded its head, struggled futilely before his knees finally collapsed and it fell to the Las Vegas tarmac. Its compatriots made haste elsewhere, trails of ice lingering briefly in their wake before the residual heat in the ground melted it.
They were drawing a crowd, tourists stopping to stare at the trio in their armor and the giant blue guy on the ground, with the occasional whisper. Molly ignored them for a moment while she checked to make sure what came through as far as weapons. She still didn't like killing things unless she absolutely had to (Sif called it a weakness). But Sif asked for them to be brought in. Maybe that was what kept them alive this time: they hadn't done what she asked yet. That was the rules, no matter where they were. Magic was weird.
"We should figure out what we got left since they don't, like, have an armory here that we can get into without like...making the police very mad. I bet these guys are gonna try to hide somewhere cold and recharge while they make plans. Since we're in Vegas they probably don't gotta lot of options. That's good," she said. It'd make them easier to find. And they'd need as much equipment as they could to capture the rest. Finally glancing around to the people around them, she noticed they were right in front of the Mirage.
By then, a couple of security guys were coming out to see what was going on. They had their hands on their weapons, eyeing the group warily.
Strolling up to the two guards with her hands on her hips, Molly went into what she called 'Sif Mode.' She kept eye contact with the guys, and, despite her size, exuded authority and take chargeiness.
"So this dude needs to stay locked up around somewhere super hot. Otherwisehe's totally going to go berserk abominable snow giant and start to attack people. And that would suck, y'know? You guys got a sauna? Is it close by?"
The two security guards looked at one another warily, then down to the Frost Giant. Realizing they were clearly way in over their heads, they both nodded.
"Uh huh," one of them mustered.
Molly grinned. "Awesome! When we get back he needs to go there. Have everyone stay clear til we get back. Anyone asks, he's a prop for a show, kay?" she said. So maybe Sif wasn't as happy take chargey but Molly couldn't stop being herself.
Spotting one of those free visitor map stands, Molly grabbed three or four that looked like that'd be helpful. She nodded to Tandy and Ty.
“Alright, let's go!"
