Before Marie-Ange and Doug talk via IM last night, Rahne tracks her down after the comments here to explain why they haven't been talking, and maybe to get some resolution.

Rahne slipped into the student lounge, only very slightly shifted to cheat -- perhaps unnecessarily -- on finding her roommate, and spotted Marie-Ange frowning slightly at a laptop. "I *am* glad to have ye along to the animal shelter," she said quietly after padding over. "And I didna mean ye were why I was out of the room nights. But 'tis true I've not been talking to ye so much lately." She paused, not wholly certain if she was right about what Marie-Ange meant wasn't happening anymore. She didn't come back smelling like Manuel and... other things anymore, and if she smelled like Doug she still didn't seem to smell like the other things so much....
Marie-Ange blinked away from the screen, just slightly startled, and -definitely- surprised. "I.. er. " She tensed her hands briefly, once, and continued. "Thank you. I was worried.. you might not want me there." She frowned, looking .. more than nervous. ". I. Jamie said something that.. " She stared down at the floor.. "About you smelling Kitty on him, and it.. all made a lot of sense, very suddenly, and.. "

Rahne blushed. "They werenae doing anything, it turned out... I suppose ye ken. And... well, I've smelt ye and Dougie on each other, but I've seen ye come out of their room too, and I cannae say it seems very proper but I cannae see ye doing anything *really* with the other three in there." She bit her lip. "Manuel, and Remy...." She trailed off. "I'd thought before that ye wouldnae do such things, but I donnae really... think 'tis worth expecting people here to behave how I think they ought, and anyway I'm pretty sure the puppies willnae care."

Marie-Ange shook her head. "I.. I do not believe it sometimes." She gritted her teeth, and made a displeased face, shaking her head sadly. "I.. can in part blame Kwannon, though I imagine that doesn't help much." She smiled. "I cannot... see puppies caring. I was.. more just... " Angie shrugged, and rubbed the back of her head. "Just worried. I .. .. it is not.. something I had meant to have anyone find out, and.. .. " She trailed off, suddenly at a loss for an explanation.

"I dinna exactly mean to find out."

"I know. I feel the worse for that, actually" Marie-Ange frowned. "It should not have happened in the first place, but worse that it .. made anyone besides me uncomfortable."

"...Yui're hardly the only one. Doing things, I mean, not being uncomfortable."

Marie-Ange shrugged. "Still. It.. it does not make it any less wrong, or unpleasant for you." She made a vaguely perturbed face. ".. and.. if it did, I mean, make you uncomfortable, I'd like to apologize for it. It was unfair."

"...I wasna sure what to say to ye. Then again I've not been sure what to say a lot lately... not just about that sort of thing... and I'm still talking to Nathan and Lady Moira." A wry smile. "I meant it when I said 'twasna you I'd been sleeping outside because of...."

Marie-Ange chuckled. "Dr. MacTaggart and Nathan are funny. They keep insisting they are not being cute. .. and.. thank you. That is a relief." She nodded, very seriously at the last. "I had worried, a bit about that."

"Maybe once or twice early," Rahne admitted, for the sake of honesty, "but mostly... I've just wanted to be out." She coughed. "And lately... well, maybe I shouldna say so, but Monet....."

"No explanation necessary at all, there." Marie-Ange said, in definite agreement. "If I could sleep outside, I probably would." She paused for a moment, then smiled. "I never thought I would be grateful for insomnia."

"I'm absolutely *sure* I ought to be being charitable," Rahne muttered. "I'm just not sure *how*."

"I... am of the theory that if we ignore her, maybe she will .. ignore us. I do not suppose we can hope for her going away." Marie-Ange frowned. "I gave up on charitable some time ago. She is vexing."

"I think she's just as happy to ignore us," Rahne said, if a bit doubtfully.

"Except when she feels offended by horse-smells, or Clarice's clothing." Marie-Ange added, just a -bit- cattily. Monet was cattiness inducing. It was, Angie thought, possibly Monet's extra mutant power.

"Or wants to know if I'm housebroken. That was funny though. Mr. Marko asked the same thing." Rahne rolled her eyes. She tilted her head and added after a moment, "I might be out again tonight. Not personal, or not with ye anyway. I like the way the air smells, and 'tis a nice evening."
