Bobbi and Jessica enjoy a girl's night in together, and get to know each other better at the same time.

Jessica floated down to the ground. It was dark and she probably should have taken a cab to the offices, but she'd wanted to feel the wind ride up through her hair. A heavy bag swung at her side and she swiftly pulled her hair into a ponytail as she moved toward the office doors. 'Adrienne may have asked us to run the ship tonight, but I figure it couldn't hurt for Bobbi and I to have a little fun.' Jessica thought as she walked up the steps to the office door. 'She's completely badass and I have the biggest girl crush on her.' She thought as she opened the door. "Hey! Bobster! I hope you picked out some good movies because I've got a meal fit for the gods with our names on it!" She called.

Bobbi had been setting up the area for the night, including moving things around so they could eat while watching the movies she'd picked up. She turned around at the sound of Jessica's arrival and grinned, waving to her friend and colleague.

"Hey there, that sounds great because holy crap am I starving." She waved some of the movies she'd picked up in one of her hands. "I've got a decent mix of action and drama here, depending on what you're in the mood for." Lethal Weapon and The Notebook were among the selections, to name a few.

"Oh god, Lethal Weapon, please." Jessica replied as she entered the room. "I've got Fried Chicken, Waffle Fries, A salad, gummi worms, both sour and regular, chocolate bars in white, milk, and dark both with nuts and without, pretzels both chocolate covered and regular, cheetos, tortilla chips and dip, doritos in the two classic flavors, peach rings, a couple packs of gum, popcorn in regular, movie butter, caramel, and cheese, a few cans of pepsi and coke, rum, fireball whiskey, a couple beers, vodka, orange juice, and a few bottles of water. Hopefully that covers all the bases." She replied as she took a seat.

"Damn girl, that's more food and drink than I have at my entire place," Bobbi replied, only partly joking. She probably did need to pick up groceries at some point. "I think we'll be ok, definitely. And Lethal Weapon it is!" She put the other movies down and opened the case for Lethal Weapon, loading the DVD into the player. Bobbi grabbed a few glasses for them before sitting down, then picked up the remote control and turned on the television. "Hmm, what to drink first I wonder..."

"A few shots of Fireball for me, I think." Jessica began as she removed both the liquor and the shot glass from her massive bag. "Im happy to be the concession lady tonight, Bobbi. What can I get ya? I recommend a screw driver, followed by copious amounts of candy." She added with grin.

"Who am I to argue with that?" Bobbi said with a grin. She wasn't too picky when it came to alcohol. She turned on the DVD player and skipped past all the previews until she got to the menus. "I'll have to bring the snacks next time, though you've really set the bar high with all of this."

Jessica pulled out a second shot glass and poured Bobbi a shot before she removed the vodka and orange and began to mix the pair expertly into a red plastic cup. "It's honestly no problem. When you bench as much as I do, you tend to work up an appetite." Jessica explained with a shrug. "Since this is our first girls night with just you and me, I figured I'd try and impress. So, Ms. Morse, tell me what's going on in your life? Anything fun? Interesting? God knows I've felt kinda ragged between this place and helping out the rugrats back at the mansion, so I could definitely live vicariously through you." She finished with a smile as she slid the finished alcoholic product over to her blonde co-worker.

"Well colour me impressed then," Bobbi said with a smile, taking the drink from Jessica and raising it in a salute. "Not a lot exciting going on at my end, I'm afraid. I did have a great vacation a little while back but that's about it." It had been a great opportunity to let go and she certainly had near the end of it, as social media was bound to remind her. "How about with you, aside from work and the mansion life?"

"Not much, really." Jessica answered before downing one of her shots. "My mom's positive and, well, she got sick for the first time in a while. It was pretty bad, so I decided to stay with her for awhile." She added. "Otherwise, I've just been really trying to reconnect with people, y'know?" She finished.

"That's got to be pretty rough, sorry to hear that." Bobbi replied, setting her drink down after taking a sip. "Reconnecting is hard, I know, I've been trying to get out more lately myself." She hoped that didn't sound too hollow or anything, since she was fortunate enough not to have the same problems with her mother that Jessica did. "This is a good start though, right?" She gestured to all the snacks and the movie before them, which promised for a fun night, and opened up a nearby bag of chips, offering some to Jessica.

"Oh yeah, this is great!" Jessica agreed. "And its alright. My mom usually manages really well, it was just a bit of a...fluke." She added. "So, tell me about yourself Ms. Morse. I mean, I feel like all I know about you is that you have great hair and a nice stockpile of badassery." She finished with a smile.

"That's the important things to take away, so I'm glad that much is well known," Bobbi said with a chuckle. "There's not really all that much to tell, really... I work a lot, come home, eat, sleep, repeat." That's what most days felt like to her at least. "I like jogging, watching old movies," She held up and shook some of the movie cases for emphasis, "reading when I can... hah, maybe we should start a book club or something."

"I actually love to read too. I mean, you wouldn't know it, but I nearly graduated at the top of my class back in the day. Some things happened to prevent that, but my love of literature luckily didn't go the way of the dodo." She answered. "A book club would be perfect. I'm currently taking a crack at the Picture of Dorian Grey. It's flowery, but not too bad." She finished.

"I've never read that but it sounds interesting for sure." Bobbi had read some of the classics but more often than not these days she'd found herself reading young adult novels or those of the Harlequin variety. Both were shorter and easier to read given how busy she was, but maybe having incentive to read something more serious with other people would be helpful. "We should definitely look into that then, I think."

"Who else to invite though? I gotta say, I've been pretty closed off from everyone except the girls here at XF-Factor." Jessica admitted. "Hey, maybe some of the Gen X kids would be interested." She added as she took another shot. "It's not all 'the love that never speak it's name' though, Bobbi. What's caught your eye lately?" She finished with a smile.

"Well, there are a few people who come to mind I think." Mainly the other ladies of XFI, but she could check with some of the other people she knew outside of the team. "I know, I'll ask online and see who all's interested." That way they could ask pretty much everyone and see who was up for it. "What or who? The answer to both is nothing, I'm afraid. Or, well, no one for the second I suppose." Bobbi reached over and grabbed a nearby bag of chips. "Other than these, because yeah, I'm all about these babies right about now." She opened the bag and took some before turning the bag to proffer them to Jess.

"Thanks." Jessica answered as she took a handful for herself. "So what did you do before the whole 'mutant investigator thing'?" Jessica asked. "I was a P.I. apprentice myself. Thank god I got out of that. The guy I was working under was a douche. Adrienne is a much better boss, even if she's been a bit of a ghost lately." She added.

"I got a degree in biology after high school, did some track and field too before everything happened." She shrugged, flashing back briefly to the days when she could compete without her unfair genetic advantage before snapping back to the present. "Then I worked with the police for a few years before becoming a P.I. myself. So we've got that work experience in common, hey, that's cool." Bobbi smiled and raised her glass again to her friend. "And yeah, Adri is pretty awesome, it's true."

"Biology? Seriously? That stuff is so fascinating! I loved it in high school and I was looking forward to it before-" Jessica began, her excitement dying down. She grabbed the bottle of Fireball and took a large swig from it. Shuddering, she turned back to Bobbi. "So the police, huh? How'd that work out? I mean, with you having powers and all." She asked.

"Before your powers manifested?" Bobbi hazarded a guess, not prodding in case Jessica didn't want to talk about it. "It was ok, it just wasn't for me, you know? I didn't have to hide my abilities as much since it wasn't a competition or anything, like track and field, but it was taking too long to do what I wanted, investigations and the like. So that's how I got here."

"So you didn't like the procedure as much?" Jessica questioned. "And it was more that I had an experience that led me to pursue P.I. work. I commend you Bobbi, I'd have a hard time keeping quiet about my powers. I just gotta feel the wind riding up through my hair." She added. "Still, I'm glad you quit. Otherwise, you wouldn't have made it here."

"I just wanted a fast track to detective, and that didn't exist, so I quit, in a nutshell." She shrugged again and grinned. "Ah, I see. I'm glad you became one too though, because likewise, it's what lead you here. And here is pretty awesome, present company included, right?" Bobbi joked.

"Oh yeah. I don't think you'd find a more kickass group, even amongst the assassins in X-Force or those heroic types over in the X-Men. Even Quire is pulling his weight. I'm proud of him for that." She answered.

"You're right, we do rock." Bobbi grinned. "Speaking of things that rock, the movie's good to go if you're ready." She brought the sequels as well if they wanted to watch some of them, and seeing how much food and alcohol they had there was more than enough supplies to last them through it.

"Awesome. Let's get to it!" Jessica agreed.
