Wolverine and Cyclops face off against Black Widow and Captain America.

The Hulk had jumped from the top of the Quinjet, right where Rogue and Dominion were ready to challenge him. As the Quinjet swooped by, the back bay opened, and Captain America and the Black Widow jumped from it, landing easily on the roof near Scott and Logan.

"This is your last chance to surrender." Cap said, but his voice was wrong; off.

Logan shot Scott a look. He knew they were on shaky footing with SHIELD and the Avengers but hadn't they earned some goodwill after the last thing that'd happened? Or was that unacknowledged with them and their higher ups. Whatever it was, Captain America didn't normally act like this no matter the situation. Something didn't feel right.

"Bit soon to be orderin' us around. We haven't done anythin' wrong. We're just standin' here same as you."

It wasn't often Scott found himself agreeing with Logan about anything, so those times that they did he knew were momentous. This was sadly one of those situations, one of the times when the two men found themselves standing shoulder to shoulder. "He's right, this is a free country and we're allowed to stand here and talk," Scott agreed as his eyes flicked over to the woman standing behind the Captain curiously. "What's going on here, Cap, it's not like you not to try to talk first...."

Captain America turned to Black Widow and gave her a short nod. Immediately, her arm flashed out, sending two of her 'widow's bite' discs spinning towards the X-Men.

"What the hell!" The electricity crackling through the air had Logan moving to shove Scott out of the way. It wouldn't do anyone any good if they were both incapacitated and Logan hated electricity. It never went well, what with metal coating every inch of his bones.

"Logan!" Scott watched the electricity arcing over his rival's body as he narrowed his eyes, two bright red blasts shattering the widow's bites as the X-man picked himself up off the floor, his lips pressed together angrily. "See, I know you're not thinking straight now, cause I can't believe you'd be that stupid," he informed them softly his eyes shining with gathering energy.

Whatever Scott had hoped, the only response was the two Avengers closing on them rapidly. A short optic blast was parried by Captain America, the red beam arcing off the shield as he bullrushed Cyclops, hitting him square-on and sending them both to the ground. Black Widow had gone up instead, leaping over Logan's claws kicking off of the back of his head, landing behind him as he staggered a few steps.

Logan hated electricity worse than magnetism. Electricity lingered and made him twitchy too long after it was supposedly out of his system. Stupid adamantium having some weird conductivity. He growled and spun rapidly to counter whatever else Black Widow had in store for him. He lunged sideways and lowered his shoulder to slam into Cap, tumbling him off Summers.

As soon as he felt Cap's weight shift, Scott tucked his arms in to his chest, rolling across the floor away from Cap as he pushed himself to his knees, a quick nod of thanks winging in Logan's direction as the X-man shook the stars out of his vision and span, a red beam of light arching out at Black Widow, bouncing up off the ground aiming for her widow's bite.

Cap recovered quickly, rolling with Logan's blow and pivoting so he could drive his shield into the man's jaw. Black Widow sped past the optic blast that took out her bite, closely with Cyclops and leaping up, kicking him in the chest and then wrapping her legs around his neck, twisting to send him hard into the ground.

Logan grunted with the force of the impact, stumbling back a few steps. What the hell was Cap's shield made out of again? Something, something, kin to adamantium? Whatever it was, the impact had reveberated through his skull and he had to shake his head to clear his wavering sight. He swung, claws out, toward the shield, feeling the impact of that too. But better shield than Cap's actual flesh and bones even if the asshole would heal right after.

Scott could feel the woman's legs constricting around his neck as she bore him to the ground as she cut off his air supply, for a moment the X-man clawed at her legs as panic overtook him before hem managed to centre himself his eyes casting around as a barrage of force bolts shot out, bouncing off a nearby wall, the beams passing so closely to Scott that one even ripped the sleeve of his uniform as they converged on the woman attempting to subdue him.

Widow rolled back off of Scott, avoiding the worst of his optic blasts and coming back to her feet. Logan found Cap difficult to hit, using his shield and superiour reflexes to stay ahead of his claw swipes.

Cap was fighting him to a draw and while he hadn't expected anything less, it wasn't helping them with anything right now. Logan leaned into the effort more, swiping as fast as he could, to try and get some contact. Distracted and occupied was better than nothing.

As he felt the woman roll off him Scott threw himself into a barrel role in the opposite direction, a trail of dust springing up around him as he pushed himself up, an optical blast lancing out to catch the widow on her hip as she tried to right herself. Sensing the moment of weakness he sent a barrage zeroing in on her, agile as she might have been Scott had been training against agile opponents for decades now.
