Molly, Jubilee and Angelo face off against the final standing Disir.

The three Disir paused, and the tallest one stepped forward, pointing her sword directly at Angelo. She didn't say anything, but a rasp hiss issued from her lips; a clear challenge to the man.

He stood braced, meeting her eyes, and mirrored the gesture. In slightly hesitant Light Elf, after so long not speaking it, he said "I accept."

In a moment, the Disir were on them, moving faster than expected. Angelo only barely got his blade up to block a punishing stroke at his neck. The other two split off to either side, using their spears to try and break the group up into individual duels.

Jubilee stepped back from the others, bring one of the Disir with her as she popped the button on her jacket and pulled out a candy bar. She needed a better idea of their capabilities before she could figure out how to beat them.

"Come on then, show me what you got," she quipped, taking a bite of the bar.

The Disir didn't disappoint, showing off the speed that Angelo had just experienced to bring her closer to the smaller woman. Jubilee dodged out of the way of the spear thrust, still busy eating as she took note of the wraiths movements. She was fast, certainly but hampered by human limits, which seemed something the Disir were not. It was only by hitting the ground the she avoided the a spear to the gut, and then a quick roll across the ground to get out of the way of the follow up stomp to the back.

She was going to have to figure out something soon because this battle was not the hill she felt like dying on.

Molly made a baseball slide under the Disir that was swinging her weapon at her. The Disir spun around, letting out a frustrated shriek, but by that time Molly was scrambling for a nearby lamppost, yanking it from the ground. Normally, she'd have time to swing it like a baseball bat, but not this time.

"Rats!" she said as the Disir grabbed the sparking lamppost while she was still holding it, leaving Molly to dangle from it. She dropped down before the Disir could toss both of them away, then immediately launched up and tackled the woman like a linebacker on Superbowl Sunday.

Okay, so this was a little tricky, but it was still kinda fun.

The Disir got her arm under Molly and leveraged her up enough to expose her torso and drove her blade up as hard as she could, looking to skewer her.

Jubilee fired off a stream of sparks at the Disir's feet, pushing up the sod underneath and tripping her. It wouldn't keep her down long but hopefully long enough.

Eyeing the battlefield, Jubilee moved herself further out before pulling up more power from within.

Time to start something.

Angelo was in close combat with his Disir, their swords locked together, breaking apart as one got the upper hand, then locking again as the other parried.

He wasn't near to tired yet, though, and always watching for an opening.

Eying one of the Disir, then Angelo, then Jubilee, the wheels started turning in Molly's head.

"Guys! I have an idea!" she said, as a broad grin crossed her lips.

"You up for a little teamwork?"

"Mols, I'm always up for teamwork, what you got in mind?" Jubilee called out, avoiding a Disir spear to the gut just barely. Make it quick though, got a really annoying guest who just won't take no for an answer."

"Sure", Angelo said without taking his eyes off his opponent. "But I haven't got a lot of attention to spare right now."

"Just get stretchy when I--" Molly yelped as one of the Disir tried to stab her, but she grabbed the spear.

"Hey! I'm in the middle of my brilliant plan!"

Her eyes blazed purple, and she yanked it from the Disir's hand, surprising the shade of a woman.

"Mine!" Molly said, spinning it around and using it like baseball bat to hit her in the face with.

"Anyway--Jubes! You go paff paff. Angelo, you go stretchy trip. And I go pow pow pow," she said, clenching her fist to illustrate.

"Make sense?"

She didn't want to be yelling out her plan so they knew what was going on so she hoped they spoke Molinese.

“Got it,” Jubilee replied, eyeing the two Disir who were trying to close the distance with her. She avoided them by way of charging between the two and diving over the spears thrust at her sides. She felt the tips connect, scraping burning lines of pain across her hips as she didn’t quite make it through.

She’d been trained to work through pain, trained to work through any number of indignities and tortures, really. It still hurt like a son of a bitch as she hit the ground on her shoulder and fired back to her feet to continue her run closer to Molly.

“Get going, Mols. I got you.”

Molly's plan may have been semi-coded, but clear as crystal to the right listeners. Angelo abruptly broke away from his Disir into a hundred yard sprint and as she gave chase at greater speed, he veered into a turn and snapped out his fingers to tangle her legs.

With one of their sisters down, the other two Disir were in no mood to fool around with their improbable combatants. The tangle of fingers tripped her up, although with her strength, Angelo was left feeling like they'd almost been pulled out of their sockets when the Disir crashed to the ground. The other howled as she struck at Jubilee again. Blooding her spear had added urgency to her ferocity and she wanted to savour bringing down an opponent once more.

Molly made a face. She was expecting some fireworks to blind the Disir so she wouldn't try to go Tasmanian Devil on her. But Jubilee was hurt, and she totally didn't wanna get her more injured. Time for plan 2.0.

Taking off into a sprint, she jumped onto the Disir and used her legs to try to hold the Disir's arms down. Then? She got to punching: one, two, three of her heaviest strikes, until she was out.

The woman barely knew what hit her (okay she did know what hit her...her fist), and her body soon went still.

Molly glanced up, toward the remaining two Disir. Her eyes narrowed as she jumped up, and stood on the woman's chest, plucking the spear from her hand.

~"Back off,"~ she warned in Asgardian. She didn't know as much as Tandy did, but she knew enough to get by.

“Dudes, make like pancakes,” Jubilee said, her voice gone cold as she prepared herself for what came next. Most of the time, she used her power for small things, or used things like C4 so that she didn’t have to expend more energy than necessary to get the job done. She didn’t have the luxury of either at the moment, they needed to get rid of these things and make sure other people were okay. “I’m going to give these two something to think about in what little time they have left.”

"We're not here to kill them", Angelo reminded her, obediently dropping flat. "Just to bring them back to the fold."

Molly's eyes widened at Jubilee. "Whoa...totally. Yeah, no killing. Just like...punching a lot," she said, eying the Disir.

Hopefully they didn't know English and they didn't just get a big reason to try to go even more crazy due to explosions.

~"She will.."~ Molly yelled to the Disir, her brows furrowed, hands churning in circles as she struggled to remember. ~"...um...explode you with her hands if you do not stand down, NOW!"~

She stomped her foot on the fallen Disir's chest to illustrate, hoping she could appeal to their primal needs to not die...again.

The Disir looked at each other for a moment and charged again, spears both now aimed directly for Molly's heart as their response.

Molly's eyes widened, and she immediately dodged the spears. She frowned, flickers of a story from Sif told over a campfire in a faraway realm registering in her memory.

"Yeah, that was...totally my bad. I forgot they're already kinda dead. Diplomacy is not good, but explosions aren't good either. We need some good old fashioned brute force! Jubes! Can you blow up something big to smash them with?"

Jubilee had spent the time during the back and forth between her compatriots and the Desir to get into a better position to do exactly that, and she now grinned at Molly in what could only be called a somewhat feral manner.

“Dude, my pleasure,” she said, unleashing the power she’d been quietly building.

It flashed up around the Desir, encasing them in a field of brilliant plasma from head to toe before exploding in a concussive blast, not unlike a ground zero firework explosion.

She dropped to her knees afterward, panting slightly as the rush of energy left her, fumbling for another chocolate bar.

The remaining Disir dropped into the grass, their skins smoking from the damage from the energy. No longer a threat and no longer a factor.
